Lucky Charms

Rob and I did a bunch of projects today. While we were putting up the curtains. We heard an interesting noise and found this in the kitchen:
The girls got hungry and decided to help themselves to a box of Lucky Charms, eating all of the marshmallows. Well...at least they shared!

Not slacking

Okay...So I know that I haven't had a current post in a long time, but it doesn't mean that I am slacking on my blogging. I went to have the blog published into a book and realized that I didn't really blog while we were living in the Bahamas. So, I have gone back and started blogging about our seven month adventure. I still have about five months left to do, but if you want to read about the first couple of months, go into the archives and look under 2006. There were a lot of crazy things that happened. It's been a lot of fun for me to remember. Although the pictures do make me long for the warmth of the sun right now!

Happy 100 Lehi High

On Saturday Lehi High School had an open house for their 100th birthday. My mom and dad and I took the girls and went to tour our old Alma Mater. It was a lot of fun, but I can't believe how much the school has changed in the last 15 years. My graduating class was under 200 and now I think they are about 800. There is a second story and all of the classrooms are full to capacity. We had room to spare when we were there. I wanted to take a picture of my girls in front of my old locker, but it wasn't there. They had torn down my locker and replaced it with a display case. How rude! It was fun to see all of the old yearbooks for the last 100 years. We found one of my grandpas, from 1944 that was all paper. It was during the war, so they didn't have a lot of money to produce a yearbook that year. There was a girl that had grabbed a copy of my Sophomore yearbook and was pointing and laughing hysterically at the hair. I will admit, our hair was pretty high then. What were we thinking?
It was a lot of fun to go back and see everything, but it made me realize how glad I am that I am not in high school any longer!

A Band Aid fixes everything

The other day Anna bumped her nose. She came running into my room, crying, saying that her nose hurt and that I needed to fix it. So I gave her a kiss on the tip of her nose and called it good. About ten minutes later she came in and said, "Mom, I'm all better now!". This is what I found:A band aid fixes everything!

An update on Sara. Well, the little monkey has been able to take her cast off twice now. It is really driving her crazy. She was so proud of herself for getting it off, though, and screams when we have to put it back on. We now put athletic tape on it every night before she goes to bed to try and keep it on. This kid is going to be a tricky one!

It's a bunny rabbit! Come look!

Hey everyone, it's Rob.
I had something worth writing about tonight. A little gross and irreverent, but worth writing about.
Anna informed me that she needed to go to the bathroom. I don't know why this needs to be announced, but that is a whole other subject. So I told her to go. I am in the kitchen, and from down the hall I hear, "Daddy, it's a bunny rabbit! A bunny rabbit! Daddy, come look!" She was so excited that I had to go see what the fuss was all about. Sure enough, down in the bottom of the toilet was a conglomeration that resembled a rabbit. She was so proud of her handiwork. I refrained myself from taking a picture, and Anna was a little disappointed when I made her flush the toilet. But she talked about it the rest of the evening.
Remember a couple years ago when someone found the image of the Virgin Mary on their grilled cheese? That sandwich sold on eBay for a few thousand dollars. I wonder what a 3-D sculpture would go for.

Casting Call

Sara had to get her cast today. In a way, I'm pretty relieved. She had figured out how to pull her splint off and it was driving me crazy! When we got to the doctors office she immediately freaked out. I think she was freaking out because she remembered the last time we visited his office, a shot was involved. Anyway, here she is right before the doctor and the nurse came in. We had distracted her with all of the animals on the ceiling and she was pretty happy. I didn't get any pictures of her during the casting because she was sitting on my lap. She was not a happy camper. She pretty much screamed the whole time. It was funny, though, because as soon as the nurse left she calmed down. I think that made the doctor feel pretty good because he realized that it wasn't him that she was mad at. So here she is right after the cast. We tried to mute her screaming with the binkie. It worked a little.
And here she is with her new pink accessory. I think that she is just happy that the whole process is done. Hopefully the next four weeks fly by!

And the award for the worst mother of the year goes to...

Sara had her first trip to the emergency room tonight. I was playing peek-a-boo with her this afternoon and every time I would raise her arm to "throw it in the oven" she would scream. So I called the on call Dr and told him what was going on and he had me take her to the emergency room so they could x-ray her arm. That was a fun trip. She would scream anytime someone would come in to look at her. Well, bottom line, she has a small hairline fracture on her right wrist. So what caused this broken arm. She was playing on our bed and fell off of it...Yesterday!!! Yes, my daughter has been walking around with a broken wrist since yesterday morning. Don't all sign up at once to take parenting classes from me!

Here she is in the ER. She was pretty miserable.

And here she is with her little splint. She will have this on until Monday when she gets her cast that she will have for the next three weeks. What cracks me up, though, is how happy she looks in this picture. I guess we all are a little bit happier when there is a reason for our pain!
Another view. Also, when we had her weighed at the ER she weighed in at a whopping 25 pounds. Wow! She is well fed!
On a side note, someone taught Anna knock knock jokes. Whoever did...Thanks! But, she does think she is hilarious!

25 Random Things About Me

I did this for Facebook, but thought I would put it on here as well since it is my journal.

1. My first trip to Disneyland was when I was 24.

2. I met my husband while I was dating one of his best friends.

3. I have lived in 3 countries but only 1 state (the US, the Bahamas and Argentina).

4. When I was 14 I was run over by a boat. I have some awesome scars on my knees to prove it!

5. I have never broken a bone, but have had over 100 stitches in each leg (see number 4).

6. I absolutely love, LOVE, Donny Osmond! For one of my birthdays Rob had my poster of him mounted and framed. It is one of my favorite gifts by far! To have it autographed would be even greater!

7. I am the oldest of 4 children. Therefore, I was the first to do everything; move out, go on a mission, get married, have kids, etc...I was also the one that was "experimented" on; punishments, rules, curfew, etc...

8. When I put the groceries on the conveyer belt I have to put them up in groups; frozen foods, canned goods, dairy, produce, paper goods, etc. When Rob helps me unload it drives me crazy because he doesn't do it "right". Drives me crazy!

9. I went sightseeing in Amsterdam by myself when I went to visit my cousin who was living over there. It was a crazy experience, but one that made me feel like I could do anything!

10. On that crazy sightseeing trip I was offered ecstasy and I didn't know what it was. What can I say, I had never really been out of the small town of Lehi and I was pretty naive!

11. My first job other than babysitting was working at McDonalds. Working fast food was awful, but such a good experience. I still try and make sure the tables are as clean as possible and the dishes are stacked after I am done eating when I go out to eat.

12. When I was 12 I caught a baseball with my mouth, killing my two front teeth. When someone yells heads up, don't look up!

13. The only time I have ever had alcohol was on my mission. Long story short, the investigators told us it was non alcoholic apple cider. They lied.

14. I have 5 kids. We have triplets, a boy and two girls, that would have been six this year. They passed away shortly after birth.

15. I have buried three children. Something that no one should ever have to do.

16. I absolutely hate the feel of construction paper. Occasionally I have to touch it for my daughter's school projects and I wash my hand immediately after touching it. Yuck!

17. I am currently taking a dance class for women over 20 and I love it!

18. Growing up the only potatoes I would eat were mashed potatoes with turkey gravy. My tastes have evolved a little bit. Now the only potatoes I won't eat are baked potatoes. I think it is a texture thing.

19. I have 67 first cousins. Family get togethers are a little crazy!

20. I don't have a middle name.

21. I only went on one date with Rob before becoming engaged to him. We hung out a lot, but only went on one official date.

22. I cry every time I hear "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. I don't know why, I just do.

23. I like to watch sad movies. Everyone needs a good cry once in awhile.

24. I love Italian food and didn't really discover this until after I was married.

25. I love being from small town Lehi, no matter how much I get made fun of for being from there. It was so nice to grow up in a town where we could walk downtown and not have to worry about something bad happening to us. I could never move back there now, though. It is way to big!

Reason for the absence

We're finishing the basement! The guys finished framing today and it looks great! Here is a view of the future three bedrooms and the bathroom.

The hallway...I know, not real exciting to anyone but us!

And this is the girls favorite part, and probably Rob's too. They built a stage! This room is going to be the future theater room and Rob wanted a stage for the girls to be able to dance on.

Are you ready for some football?!

Okay, So I didn't actually get any pictures of us watching the game or of all the food that we had to consume, but I did get some pretty fun ones of everyone preparing to watch the 3D commercial. The kids were all pretty excited, but I think the adults were moreexcited to have the glasses to watch "Chuck" the following night!
Here are the kids trying to get ready for the commercial.
During the commercial. It did grab everyone's attention.
Rob and Anna. Anna was pretty excited to wear the glasses, even if they didn't fit!
