My silly Anna

My little Anna is so silly! Her imagination has been coming out strong! It's so fun to watch her pretend. I'm also getting a glimpse of how I am on the phone or with Sara. She treats her dolls the same way. Last night she got a little bored and started putting Hello Kitty "dickers" (stickers) all over Rob. I think the one over his mouth is so great! She knows how to quiet a man! Here she is talking on her Cinderella phone to her cousin Alli. It's almost as if she is signaling "just a sec!".
So,, the binkie fairy came to our house today. I have been dreading this for quite awhile and decided that it was time for it to happen. Anna was so easy to transition from me to a bottle, from a bottle to a sippy, to a big girl bed and she was not hard to potty train. I knew that the binkie was going to be bad. And it has been! She wouldn't go to bed last night and it took two hours of screaming before she fell asleep for her nap. Anyway, we gave away all of her binkies and she got princess polly pockets. I hope that this works! I could really use a good nights sleep. I'll keep you posted!

He's official!

I just have to brag a little about my awesome husband. Last year he started studying for the PE exam. It stands for professional engineer and, in my eyes, it is the equivalent of the bar exam for lawyers. You have to take this test and pass it in order to be a licensed engineer. And from my understanding, it is an extremely hard test! This test consumed his life from October to April. He studied every spare second that he had, and since we added Sara to the family during that time, he really didn't have a lot of spare seconds. He took the test in April and he got the results today. He passed! Yay! He can now apply for his license. We are so happy for him! Congrats Rob! We are so proud of you! We love you!!!!

Sara is always jumping and so our neighbor let us borrow her jumper to see how she does with it. She absolutely loves it! Therefore I love it! This is the first toy that she has had that she will stay in for longer than 15 minutes. It's great! We'll see if she keeps those chunky legs.

Reading Time

I love having two kids! They are able to entertain each other. Today we went on a grand adventure to the library where Anna got to pick out several books. She came home and started reading to Sara. It was so cute! I love that they are starting to play together so well.

Biking Buddies

Since Sara is finally able to sit up on her own we were able to take the girls for a bike ride. Anna has been wanting to go on one ever since the weather became nice. She loved it and so did Sara. She is such a content little girl...It's great! And the best part about the whole thing is that we did it close to bed time and wore them both out. They came home and went straight to sleep. Ahhh! I love quiet time!

Playing Together

The other day I heard something strange...Silence! Now, for all of you mom's out there, you know that is a dangerous sound. So I went to investigate, fully expecting complete chaos. But instead I found Anna and Sara playing quietly together. It was an awesome sight!

Princess Daddy!

Rob returned yesterday from a week long adventure at scout camp. He was exhausted and fell asleep on the couch. Anna decided to use this to her advantage. First of all, she had to wake him up. How else do you wake a sleeping princess but by kissing her. So she put his face between her hands, turned his head towards her and planted one on him. Rob said it was an interesting way to wake up. Anna then took all of the pieces from her "Pretty, Pretty Princess" game and put them on Rob. He sure looked pretty. Anna even started calling him Princess Daddy. Later on that night she switched to calling him Prince. I think he preferred that! Rob is sure a good sport to humor his little girl!

Backyard Fun

Sara has discovered Dobber and thinks that he is so funny! She just sits and giggles at the sight of him! BTW...Sara had her six month check up today and she is 18lbs and 26 inches. She is my little chunk of love!
My best friend from high school, Sheralyn, is in town and is staying with us for a couple of days. I love having her here and so does Anna. She has instantly bonded with her. We had a great time just lounging outside. Rob set up a bunch of misters around the backyard and it is actually comfortable to be out there.

Curious?

I had to snap the above picture because it was just too darn cute! Anna loves Curious George and has introduced the silly monkey to Sara. They were both mesmerized with that crazy George. I'll tell you what, if it was my monkey it would no longer be alive!
The bottom picture I snapped a couple of days ago. It was all I could do to not put a remote in front of her. We'll just call her Couch Tater Tot!

A Whole New World

A whole new world of fun things have opened themselves to Sara. We went to Costco today and I decided to try having her sit in the cart rather than in her car seat. She loved it! She thought it was great to kick her legs and look around at everything. Anna loved having someone to sit next to as well. It was a win, win situation.

Also tonight, Sara was introduced to her first french fry. She loved gumming it and throwing it on the floor. I think we had about five fries on the floor of the restaurant. But it kept her quiet and happy. I guess I am introducing her to the finer things in life. Next up....Chocolate! (Okay...not really!)

Just Another Sunday!

We went over to my parents and Kassi broke out last years fireworks. We looked pretty funny lighting them off during the day, but we had fun.
Anna was a little scared so she had to sit on Daddy's lap. The good thing is that none of the fireworks were noisy.
Here's my cute nephew Liam and my cute SIL, Erin. Liam was mesmerized by the fireworks. I don't think he knew whether to be scared or happy.
Here's my brother Zach with his new truck. The main reason this picture made it into the blog was because he said that I didn't have any pictures of him. So, here you go!

The Day After

What happens when you keep your 2 year old out until all hours of the night? She wants to go down for a nap at 10:00 a.m. I couldn't believe it when she asked if she could have a nap. I should wear her out more often!
Sara is sitting up so well that we put her in her high chair today. She loved it! She had a whole new perspective on things! I loved it because it was a lot easier to feed her!
Tonight we went out and hung out in the backyard (Please ignore the dead grass...we just put new sod down and it is just starting to green up!). We put Sara in the swing and she had a big grin on her face. Anna was nice enough to just slide.
We also put them on the trampoline where Anna had fun bouncing Sara. I love that my girls are getting along. I love to hear their laughter rather than their screams! I just hope that it lasts a long, long time!

The Afternoon of the 4th

Later in the day, after both of the girls had a good nap we went over to my parents to celebrate America's Birthday. My brother and sister-in-law are here from Minnesota so it was fun to have the whole family together. My sister-in-law, Erin, had her brother and sister come as well. Anna is obsessed with Damien, her brother. He was so sweet to her and didn't seemed too bugged by her. I appreciate that a lot! Here is a picture of Sara and Rob just chilling in the hammock. Rob was glad to have a couple of minutes to unwind.
This is just for you Erin. Here is Anna jumping with one of her favorite Aunts. She sure loves you!
Damien, Haley, Aunt Erin and Anna enjoying the hammock. Anna had my camera and took a ton of pictures. I chose not to post them due to the fact that they were all close ups with some nice nostril shots!
Playing with the snaps while waiting for fireworks. We went to a church parking lot and watched the Thanksgiving Point fireworks. They were okay, but I enjoyed the company a lot!
Sara and her cousin Liam. They are two months apart, but weigh about the same. Sara was kept smiling at him and trying to grab him. We think she must remember him from heaven!

Balloon Fest and Swimming

After keeping the girls up until 11:00 we decided to wake them up bright and early at 6:00 the next morning to see the balloons launch in Provo. Anna has an obsession with balloons so we thought she would really enjoy it, and she did! It was an awesome sight to see about 30 balloons lift off. Our favorites were the pig and Smokey the Bear.
Here is the Smokey the Bear balloon right by the "Y" mountain as the sun was coming up.
We met up with my sister in law and her family. Anna and Mason are usually at each others throats, but that day they got along great. It was a nice change!
After we were done at the balloons it was time to go swimming with some of the Cloward's at a friends pool. Sara enjoyed just laying by the poolside. She is not fond of the water at all.
The gang!
Rob and Anna just chilled in the chair. It was nice to see that Anna's swimming lessons have paid off. She was actually wanting to jump off of the side and get her head wet. All in all it was a fun morning!

Let The Celebration Begin!

My brother Casey, who is a police officer in South Salt Lake, invited us to come up to the city celebration on July 3. Needless to say, he works in a very interesting place! I think we saw someone dressed from every decade walk by us. While we waited for the fireworks to start they had a contest "South Salt Lake Idol" and let me tell you, we were entertained. Not by talent, but by the fact that some of those people dared to get up and sing in front of people. We had a great seat for the fireworks and we were so excited for them to start. Once they did, Anna and my niece, Jayde, started screaming! The fireworks were so close that they were incredible loud! We had debris falling all around us. Needless to say, we waited for the fireworks for about two and a half hours and only watched the fireworks for about five minutes. What we did see was awesome! Thanks Casey for inviting us up!

Waiting for the fireworks to begin and listening to the "Idols" sing.

Sara hanging out with Grandpa. BTW...Grandpa was the one that put the sunglasses on Sara in the first picture. Doesn't she look stylish!
Still waiting for the fireworks with cousin Jayde and Aunt Kristin
Sara hanging out with Grandma. She was actually the only one that didn't get bothered by the fireworks. I found that interesting!
