A Little Piece of Hawaii

A little over four years ago Rob and I went to Hawaii and Rob, being the plant lover that he is, brought back several different types of plants. He has tended to them for the last four years without having much success, but that all changed today. His hibiscus bloomed. He was so excited! He also discovered that his plumeria is going to bloom soon. So all of his years of hard worked have paid off. Here is a picture of his beloved blossom. It really is pretty! Too bad it only lasts about a day.

Return to blogging

I haven't been able to blog for awhile because Rob has had the laptop and I wasn't able to download any pictures. So here is what happened in the last week.
My mom and I took Anna shopping today and she discovered the three way mirror. She was fascinated by this! It was fun watching her play with all of the "other" Annas.

She has become quite the little parrot. Whatever we say we hear her repeat. It sure makes you think before you speak. Her new favorite words are "outside", "jump", "Grandpa" and "fun". As soon as she wakes up she wants to go jump and Grandpa and Grandma's house.

She has also learned the word "apple". She picks them when she jumps and eats the whole thing (core and seeds included). She ate four the other day and then wouldn't eat anything else. Go figure!

I've been tagged!

My friend Rachel tagged me so being a good blogger I thought I better pass it on.

4 JOBS I HAVE HAD:
1-Cashier at McDonald's. Don't laugh! It was my first "real" job and I met some of my best friends there.
2-Cook at Heritage Nursing Home. I learned how to puree some of the weirdest things!
3-Underwriter for Advance Insurance. It helped me to understand how insurance works and what we really need to carry on all of our vehicles.
4-Bankcard Representative for Bank of American Fork. I now know the ins and outs of credit cards. Rob should be grateful. I realized what an evil they can be!
MOVIES I COULD WATCH OVER AND OVER:
1-While You Were Sleeping - I can never get enough of that one!
2-The Saint with Val Kilmer
3- Footloose - Hey it was filmed in Lehi - gotta love it!
4- The Cutting Edge - sentimental reasons!
FAVORITE T.V. SHOWS:
1-The Office - how anyone could have a boss like that is beyond me!
2-Psych - If you haven't checked this one out it is a must - plus it is clean, which is a nice bonus!
3-Monk - Another USA network favorite
4-It is a tie between CSI and Lost. I'm a season behind on Lost but it is very addicting!
FAVORITE HOBBIES:
1-Reading. I love when Anna takes a good, long nap so I can really get into a good book.
2-Quilting. I'm just starting, so I'm a little slow, but I do like it when I am able to do it.
3-Scrap booking - very time consuming but also very fun.
4-Playing games with friends. I love to discover new board games.
PLACES I HAVE LIVED:
1-Argentina
2-Paradise Island in the Bahamas
3-Lehi, Utah - born and raised!
4-Provo, Utah - it's weird that I have never lived in a different state but lived in three different countries. Go figure!
PLACES I WOULD RATHER BE RIGHT NOW:
1-Philadelphia - only because Rob is there for the rest of the week and I want to be with him.
2-Paradise Beach in the Bahamas. The water is beautiful there!
3-My bed - asleep! I have been experiencing insomnia and it doesn't help that Rob is gone.
4-Again in a hotel room with Rob in Philadelphia. I miss him!
WEB SITES I CHECK DAILY:
1-The great blogs my friends have put together
2-KSL - I have to stay on top of the current events!
3-The Triplet Connection - not sure why I still check that site. Maybe it is to see how my life would have been if Jason, Ellie and Grace had survived. Can you say crazy!!
4-People.com. I don't know why. Just a guilty pleasure I guess.
WHO I'M TAGGING:
1- Michelle
2- Ryan - you have to do it separately.
3-Since I don't know anyone else that blogs...Kassi - I know she reads this.
4-My mom - I know she reads it too! You two can put the answers in the comment section!

Okay, now that you are tagged, you get to copy and paste this onto a post of your own. Delete my pitiful answers and type in your own. It is true blogging etiquette to really do this!!

Return to the Old Stomping Grounds

We had a wedding in Manti yesterday and during the break between the ceremony and the reception we decided to see how much Ephraim had changed since I attended college there. Holy Cow! The students of Snow College don't know how good they have it now. There's a WalMart, a McDonalds, a Subway...I could go on and on. We drove by my old apartments and all I have to say is Pinetree did not look that good when I lived there. I bet they don't even try and cram seven girls into three rooms anymore (Rachel can agree with me on how much fun that was!). But the good old staples were still around. The Malt Shoppe, Fat Jacks (we even stopped and got Fat Sticks) and Kent's Super Market (funny...I just realized that these all involved food). It was fun to go back and reflect back on those two years. They really were fun and I think more so because we had to make our own fun! I won't go into too much detail of the things we did but I will say pantyhose on heads, water in cars, couch jumping, The Bee Girl, Axl Rose, Slash, Banned MTV, Man of LaMoncha, Monstrous Monty, etc...I could go on and on. Long Live Pinetree #17 (If I remember the # correctly).

I'm Thinking Arbys

I don't know what it is about this pregnancy but all I want right now is roast beef sandwiches from Arby's. I crave them nightly! My mom says that I shouldn't give in to the cravings, but Rob says that there are worse things that I could crave. It's funny how different this pregnancy is than the other ones. With the other two I craved anything tomato flavored; pizza sauce, salsa, spaghetti, etc. This time around I don't want anything to do with it. All I can say is thank goodness Arby's is doing the five for $5.95 right now or we would be broke!

Daddy's Work Party

We attended Rob's work party tonight. It was a lot of fun to get together with all of the wives and discuss/complain about how we never see our husbands anymore. Anna loved playing with all of the kids on the playground. She was even brave enough to go down the slide by herself for the first time. The evening was complete with ice blocking and a candy cannon where it literally rained candy. The kids were beside themselves. Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to the next one!

Just Plain Tired!

Okay, before I begin this blog I would like to add a disclaimer; I love being a mom and being able to stay home and take care of my child. Now, that being said, I am tired! After cleaning up after three people (and a dog that I don't even like), listening to whining (some of it is Anna...J/K Rob!) and being hung on all day I sometimes wonder what my life has become! For heavens sake, I have a college degree (granted it is only an associates, but it's still a degree). I think today I felt this more so than usual because we are going head strong on potty training Anna. I say we but I really mean me. Anyway, she is doing really well, we only had one accident and it has only been one day. So she is doing awesome! Maybe it is just magnified because I am pregnant and cranky and there is no chocolate in the house right now! UGH!!!!

Hanging out with Dad

Rob has introduced Anna to the fine art of Tom and Jerry. They enjoyed a marathon the other day, watching about nine episodes. Anna could not get enough of it! She would laugh every time Tom would get hurt. I'm not so sure that is a good thing! I loved it that they were able to bond together and let me do something by myself, which is rare.

The Difference Between Men and Women

Today Rob was helping me get Anna ready for church. I asked him to put her shoes on, the pink sandals with the flower on them. Next thing I know Anna is wearing the shoes that are on the top in the picture. Now, they do not match at all, are all scuffed up and dirty. When I told him that he had the wrong pair on her he claims that he put her in the exact same shoes that I told him to. We then proceeded to "discuss" the difference between men and women. Rob wanted to know how many pairs of pink sandals with flowers Anna needed. I wanted to know why he thought I would put her in shoes that didn't match at all and that were not appropriate for church. We never came to an agreement, but Anna did go to church wearing the clean pink sandals with a flower on them.

A Day of Firsts

Anna had quite the busy day. It started out with her first haircut. She had been walking around with a Carol Brady hairdo for quite awhile now, so Aunt Kassi came over and fixed it. She looks a lot better.

Also today, Anna attended her first BYU football game (most likely her only game for awhile...we have to start paying for a ticket soon). She loved it. She cheered so loud whenever they had a touchdown, danced to the music and made cougar noises with the computer. What made the day even better was that BYU won. It always makes it worth going to the game when you know that Rob and my Dad will both be happy about the outcome.
