Vacation Preparation

I hate preparing for vacation! It seems like there is so much to do...Cleaning the house, doing the laundry, getting someone to watch the dog, etc... To top it all off, Rob is leaving the day we get home from California to go on a scouting expedition so we have to make him prepared for that as well. I am so looking forward to just getting away! Unfortunately, the process will start all over again once we get home.

Remembering Jason, Ellie and Grace

Memorial Day is a bittersweet day for me. I don't think any parent should ever have to lay flowers on their children's grave. I have a hard time believing that it has almost been four years. It is mind boggling to me that I should have three four year olds running around the house right now. I sure miss my angels. But it is also nice to go and see how many people remember our sweet babies and care enough to place something on the grave. I love that my brother always puts a fun toy for them every year. This year it was WWF figurines for Jason and Polly Pockets for Ellie and Grace. He has always said that little kids need toys, not flowers. I don't think he will ever know how much I appreciate him for that!

Did I ever act like that?

I so don't want teenagers! We had a camp activity tonight where I had to chaperon about fourteen girls. Boy are they loud! A few are pretty quiet and content on just being there, but the few that are loud make their presence known. I hope I didn't drive my leaders crazy like these girls are driving me! Camp is going to be one long week!

The Gopher's Have Invaded!

We have gophers! Dobber has killed one and is digging for the other. Anna saw him and had to copy. She had her nose in the ground digging with Dobber. She makes a great pet!

Cinderelli, Cinderelli

Anna loves to do everything that big people do. Yesterday I was mopping the floor and she had to help. I can't wait until she actually becomes more of a help than a hindrance.

To be a kid again!

I would love to be a kid again. I sat and watched Anna playing in her kiddie pool with jealousy. I wish that I could get into a swimming suit and run around in the sprinklers without getting any strange looks. It's too bad that as we get older we start to worry about what other people think. As a child I don't think that you ever cared. What happens between the ages of 10 and 12? We shouldn't care, but we do.

Happy Mother's Day!

This weekend was great. "Wicked" is so great! I encourage everyone to see it if they are able. I loved it and can't wait to see it again when it comes to Utah next year. When I got back home it was nice to see how much I was missed by Anna and Rob. Unfortunately she missed me so much that she won't let me out of her sight. Church was hard today. Anyway, Rob made today great. He and Anna gave me a children's trailer for the back of my new bike. He also made me breakfast and lunch and started to organize the garage. It was a great day! I am lucky to have such a great family!

We're off to see the wizard

My sisters-in-law, my mother-in-law and I are all heading to Denver tomorrow to see "Wicked". We are all so excited because we are leaving the kids and the husbands behind. Rob is taking the two days off to watch Anna so we will see how much he likes being a full time dad. I'm going to miss them but we just gave ourselves the greatest mother's day present ever!

Not a princess!

Those of you that know me know that I have been against Anna being a "princess" ever since I found out I was having a girl. I have been extremely adamant about not having anything princess in the house. I want her to be able to play sports, not necessarily a "tom boy" but involved in everything. Well, Anna has found a tiara that I had purchased for a Halloween costume and she loves it! She wears it all the time. Ugh! I guess regardless of what you want your kids to be they will be what they want. I only hope that our trip to Disneyland next month doesn't inspire her more.

Chuck E Cheese!

We took Anna to Chuck E Cheese for the first time. It was also the first time in about twenty years that Krista has been. I don't recall the pizza being that nasty! But Anna had a blast playing skee ball and riding on all the toys, which made the trip all worth it. We did happen to snap some pretty good photos. Enjoy!
