We had a super low key fall break this year. We slept in, watched TV, played with friends, went to the movies, watched the BYU game, canned some spaghetti sauce, and went to the park. I loved it! Most of the time I am all about a trip, but sometimes it is so great to just stay home! Plus the weather the last day was DELIGHTFUL!!!

Scotty Turns 10!!!!
Scotty's actual birthday was when Corry was out of town, so we celebrated early (it is almost always during Corry's biggest trade show. :( ). Anyway, he wanted his dad to cook him something spicy. So he cooked up some spicy shrimp and Scotty LOVED it!
Corry even put together Scotty's bike. When we came home from church the next day, this is where I found Scotty... just staring...
Love that boy!
Poor Scotty ended up with Croup on his actual birthday. So sad! About all he wanted were smoothies, so he had one for lunch and dinner. Not the fun birthday I had planned at all! :(
Anyway, my Scotty at 10!
- He is so funny! He loves to tell jokes and always has a funny story to tell. He is also getting even more witty and clever. I love to see how his mind works!
- He is so strong! He loves to wrap his legs around my waist, lay all the way back and do a full sit-up over and over. The boy has abs you wouldn't believe!
- He is so smart! He has always done well in school, but lately I have noticed the speed at which he solves math problems. Plus he will just walk around and create math problems to solve.
- He is so tender hearted and tough all at the same time! He really is one of the toughest emotional kids I know, things just don't bother him, but he definitely has a soft side. My cousin's 12 year old son was just killed in a car wreck. He and Scotty got along so well! It was so tragic and I am afraid my tender boy took it hardest.
- He loves to create things! He is always gathering random junk (yes I mean junk, but he doesn't) and builds something with it, then has this forever long explanation of what everything is and what it all represents.
- He loves his Cougars! It is fun to see him really cheer on and love his team!
- He loves food - especially strange things! The boy loves to create in the kitchen too. It is fun, and sometimes disgusting to see what he puts together.
I just love this boy. I couldn't ask for a better son. Sometimes he isn't very nice to Alli, gets dirt and junk everywhere, and teases incessantly, but overall, he is just a good, kind boy. I am so glad he is mine. And I think he is super cute and will have the ladies falling all over him in the future! ;)
Scotty's Family Birthday Party
Of course Scotty did not want cake for his birthday dessert - he wanted crepes Christina's way (which interpreted means pull out anything sugary from your cupboards and put it on the crepe). This is Scotty's:
Yup - some of everything and he ate the whole thing, and another, and another...
It was a little hard to put a candle in it...
Then Grandpa said he had to eat it with his hands...
When I say it was the family party, my definition of family is a group of people united in criminal activity. Just kidding, but I thought it was funny that this is truly one of the definitions of family. :) Really this is the definition of family I love: Family isn't always about blood. It's the people in your life who want you to be in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what. So having said that, I have been blessed with many blood relatives who are that, and also many friends that are as dear as family. So, there are a few people my kids consider cousins, and their moms I consider sisters. That love my kids as if they were aunts, uncles and cousins. I love my family!
After all that crepe eating, it was time for some presents...
Scotty was pretty excited with his new road bike. He will love it in the spring. Sometimes a late fall birthday is hard for a very active boy!
After presents was when things got crazy with these three...
