Another Whirlwind Saturday

The whirlwind began with the neighborhood Easter egg hunt put on by our friends every year, although this year is the last time they are doing it... :(  Somebody will have to take it over.

Scotty wanting me to get a picture of the inside of his mouth and up his nose.

Alli's group getting ready to hunt...

Searching on the playground for the eggs...

She found her 8

See, want to count them?

Scotty found his pretty fast and then headed in for donuts and chocolate milk with his friends.

Fuzzy was too old to hunt this year, but she had a good time helping the little ones hunt, and of course eating donuts with her friends too...

until Missy came along...
After that we showered and headed to Carrington Court for the family Easter egg hunt with Grandma Seeley.  Seriously, if you ever have a relative with Alzheimer's or dementia, this is the place for them!  They take such great care of grandma!
Each of the residents had an egg with their name on it.

Alli made a design with the confetti on the table, grandma didn't like it.  She also didn't like when Scotty blew in Missy's face and told him, "You should not do such things to your mother!"  Hahaha!  We love grandma!

She was super excited to see the Easter Bunny
The bummer of the day was actually the egg hunt!  Scotty and Alli each got one egg and Fuzzy didn't get any.  And, we couldn't even take grandma with us to hunt.  Kinda disappointing.

After we went back inside to tell grandma goodbye.  Surprisingly, she asked us not to leave.  Usually she is done with us in less than 20 minutes and we had been with her for 1.5 hours already!  We stayed 10 more minutes with her and then headed to the next activity for the day - past 3 accidents on the freeway - dance meeting.

After that, the older girls and I changed into our dresses and then headed to watch the General Young Women Broadcast for our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.  It was amazing.  Many times it comes to conferences like these and my bucket is empty - very much in need of refilling. This time, I felt pretty good when I walked in, but was amazed at how full I felt when I walked out!  It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord knows the things I need to hear, even if I don't know I need to hear it!  You can read or watch the conference here.

We had desert at the church, then headed with some friends and their moms to Chili's for dinner.  Love a girl's night out with desert first!  Finally at 10 pm we got home.  A very full whirlwind day!
A Very Great day!

The Three Billy Goats Gruff - Starring Alli as Extra Large Gruff

Alli's 1st grade class put on the cutest production of the Three Billy Goats Gruff.  I have been helping the kids with it for the last several weeks and it was so much fun to see how they performed their rolls!

"I've got muscles, and my muscles've got muscles!"

The her cute teacher for taking the time to do things like this!
Corry couldn't make it, but I checked all the other kids out of their classes to see her.  She loved that they all came to support her!

Girl's Night to the Miss Pleasant Grove Pageant

So I just have to start out by saying that I am not a fan of "scholarship" pageants.  Don't love young women strutting their stuff around a stage in a swimsuit (modest though it may be), high heels, and a smile.  Not a fan of all the money you have to spend to enter the pageant hoping to win a measly scholarship (ok, IF you make it to the Miss America Pageant, it is not measly, but our girls get $3000 after spending close to that just to get your wardrobe to enter).  Now many of these girls, I have to say, are extremely talented!  I have see amazing pianist, vocalists, dancers, and violinists perform - yes I have been to more than one - but only to support the young women I know and love, in their quest!

So we went - after asking my girls to please not ever enter one of these, unless it is their lifelong dream, then I will support them 100%.

Ahhh!  So after our day of breakfast for the Red Shoe Party at IHOP, lunch with my brother at Brick Oven, we went with the girls to Costa Vida for dinner - where we ate a few chips and salsa because we had just eaten at Brick Oven!

We had a lovely time visiting with wonderful women - then to the pageant.

In the beginning I had to stop myself from laughing at all the "world peace" moments, only here it was I want to change the world through "service to others" moments.  I am sure they are very nice sincere girls, but I had to hold in the chuckle.  Also, I about died during the "Toddler and Tiara's" mother moment during the only bad talent of the night.  WOW!!!!!! Anyway, I came away feeling even more that I don't want my daughters participating in something like that!  I think there are much better ways to earn scholarships!

Red Shoe Party 2012

My awesome Aunt Leslie invites us all to attend the Red Shoe Party every year.  Basically we all wear our red shoes, eat and visit!  This year it was on St. Patrick's Day, so we all looked a little Christmassy in our green and red.  We met at IHOP that morning to celebrate.  Alli woke up and said, "I have been waiting for this day my WHOLE life!"  Love that girl!
We all had fun playing with baby Lila

In the end we had to get our traditional red shoe circle picture.  I love these women and am so glad Aunt Leslie includes us with her daughter and daughter in laws for this fun tradition!

Lunch with Jon at Brick Oven

My brother and his family came in town for their annual ski trip.  We love to  meet them at Brick Oven for lunch on their way into town.  This is usually the only time we go there and we love it.
Aubrey cracked me up with her pizza eating skills!
Spencer and Scotty had a great time shoving as much food into their mouths as they possibly could!

Alli and McKenzie had a great time not eating, but playing together!
And Aubrey liked doing anything they were doing!

I think Miss and Fuzz just enjoyed eating!

It was so much fun to visit with Jon, Courtney, Vicki and the kids!  We love getting together with family!
