my life at New College Residence =)

I realised i haven really show u all the pictures of the residence im staying at.. I shared a double room with Jiali.. The room is quite big with heater/aircon, wardrobes, tables, beds and 2 chairs each person..

Our room no. =) :
The chairs often become 'clothers hanger' to dry our clothes:

The wardrobe on day 1:

The top shelf for me to put my food ;P

My snacks section at the corner of my desk, very convenient during tests and exam ;P:

Me and Jiali hated the tap water in Canada.. need to filter to remove the excess chemical and after boiling, the smell was worse. Since both of us are camels, we can afford to drink distilled water during the 2 months... Its usually Cad$0.99 per 4L.. not very expensive actually... But to carry them back to hostel is indeed very tiring...

From my window, can see e pub for UofT staffs and students:

And the short-cut route to geology class:

Took this pic from my room.. I think the clouds are scary looking.. :

Another important room, the common room, which is our living room + kitchen + dining room:

The table tat serves many purposes:

Dinner Time:

The important TV.. Our most popular programme: Weather network, Maury's show, Trading spouses, Myth busters...

The refrigerator is also our "debt list"... :

Even the top of the refrigerator was not spared:

Its more scary inside the fridge.. This started all the complains about us... haiz...

The most visited corner--- the microwave at the very corner.. haha:

Cooking time:

Anne's tasty curry:

spaghetti:
The usual breakfast other than bread:

We did our luandry often too... lazy to handwash, esp denim and moreover no place to dry our clothes.. so dryer very important.. haha.. so got to save up the toonie ($1 coin) for the washing machine:

Washing machines and the dryers:

Our room is at the very last... so well, the long and cold corridor... :

On the 27th, due to the international English programme, we had to move house to the opposite residence-- Wilson's Hall. Its more run-down, old and small.. but the people there are younger.. just like our age.. no more Julia.. opps! But we are only staying for 3 days before departing for USA.. The key to our room is a card.. but there is a real key attached, its for the lift.. so mafan.. without the metal key one can't press the lift then..

People at Wilson's hall are more fun as they are younger.. There's one night where there is a party going on and the toilet was really disgusting. Many toilet bowls were filled with vomit and even shit.. These people not only make a mess out of the toilet but also create noise pollution. Its so noisy that Valerie called the security ppl.. But its very funny, cos there are 4 ppl in our room so its also quite noisy, so the security guy tat Valerie called up also warned us to lower our volume.. haha.. But the noise outside also stopped.. hehe.. Im glad that we rejected their invitation to the party.. Their kind of party is not for me =) :

Dirty Dancing!

Tonight is cool. We watched a stage play- Dirty Dancing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre! Its like a New York Broadway equivalent in Toronto. The play is fantastic and we all enjoyed ourselves. The ticket is quite ex though, but we got really good seats. We bought orchestra seats, Cad $74.75. The dance moves are great, especially the music. Really loves this song "(I've had) The time of my life". The song video is available at youtube too. The actors and actresses are good-looking as well. They have to I guess.. hee..

The Royal Alexandra Theatre is a national historic monument, hence there is no elevator. The interior is cool and i think it is really grand with the carpet and all. We took a bus here from New College. But the way back to hostel was terrible cos the weather was really cold!! The temperature change between day and night is really freaking here.

I took some pictures of the interior while waiting for the play to start, but actually it is forbidden and I saw some patrons being scolded by the usher for taking pictures and the photos had to be deleted immediately. But 不知者无罪 rite? hee.. But I Shall not post la.. can visit this website for pic: http://www.mirvish.com/OurTheatres/Royal.html

Toronto Island =)

Went to Toronto Island today. We were supposed to meet at 8 am at the kitchen to prepare sandwiches and etc food for picnic and 9 am set off for toronto island, however, out of 5 girls and 1 guy, only Ngian Xin woke up at 8.. the rest overslept. oops.. hee.. Anyway i had fun frying eggs for the sandwiches and all was ready by 10 plus =) But its not at all smooth sailing, we almost wanted to cancel it cos the weather forecast predicted that it will rain from 1 pm onwards today.. and the temperature this morning was only 17 degrees.. But who cares la.. we still continue our plan.. i was very sure we will still get to cycle today =)

We started with the Harbour tour and the captain was quite humorous.. gd.. Finally we reached Centre Island, welcomed by many many ducks and beautiful swans.. haha..

The family:

Taking pic wif the map =):
At the beautiful beach:

Artistic rite? But i took this pic cos its super weird to place a chair there.. :
=)

Jiali managed to take this pic in time before they disappeared from our sight.. they flew really fast man.. never seen such a sight in s'pore be4.. i think this is really cool =)

Our mini picnic =)

Ngian Xin eating the 'egg coated bread':

Me eating the mash potato that Ngian Xin prepared with bacon beads:

The wind keep blowing.. can't tahan, sweaters to the rescue.. and me and Jiali wore almost identical clothes, hence the pic.. haha:

Finally get to cycle =) :

The 1st stop after cycling for a while.. there's lots of pretty pebbles here... and we can see USA from here.. we think it is New York City since it is near to Toronto:

Me and Chong Yan taking pic here.. :

And we all take turns to take pic under this tree.. :
The CN Tower can also be seen from Toronto Island.. It seems like everywhere i go also can see this tower... :

We saw this sign when cycling.. can guess our destination?? hehe =)
Here's our destination! hehe.. This is my 1st time visiting a clothing optional beach:
Our "reaction" on the beach.. wahaha:

Im amazed by the public telephone out of nowhere on the beach.. indeed its safer to have one in this type of beach... :

Having fun =) :

Ngian Xin spotted a ladybird in the sand.. :
The sky here is really clear.. loves the large white clouds =) : For ppl who does not know how to cycle, there's quadracycle available.. interesting :

We saw Janice, Joanne and Yitian on the way back:The toilet is interesting.. have to step on tat thing to turn on the tap..

After reaturning the bikes, we walked to this small farm here.. :

I tot this interesting.. wonder how it will taste like.. oops!

Many ducks and geese here.. :

There's also horses and ponies:
Saw this while waiting for the ferry.. very cute =) :
On the ferry, the captain informed us of this swan and its kids.. beautiful:
And we are back to Toronto:
