Poked by a durian

Its e durian season!! Too much good durian to eat, i even got poked in e knee by a spiky kampong specimen! oh boy, 3 little puctures n a trickle of blood.

This weekend has sporty, in e 1st time since years/months, i was back in e jungle. This time it was a day hike in johor, up-n-down Gunung Lambak. Its just 510m high, but has good views fr e summit. It was dry going up, but pouring with rain while we were coming down... ah.. must be from e Raindance by Ramesh!! Anyway e gushy trail turned out to be extremely fun :) !

On sunday, it was e usual easy morning spin to neotiew n back. We were a cute threesome... V, CP & i.. hehe riding in a line on e countryroads of spore. Breakfast at bollywood, thats e best motivating factor. In e afternoon, i met Doris, Harry & Fred for lunch.. n then we went shopping in takashimaya! More durians back at woodgrove afterwards.. n suddenly e weekend was over!

Mid-july (12 & 13th July weekend)

This wkend has been weather perfect, rolling clouds n orange sunshine.

Saturday, went for a drive-into jb for lunch & to see leisurefarm, followed by a stopover at an organic farm in lim-chu-kang area along e way back. Night-time was a fundraising dinner by thekchen choling at e Spore expo.

Sunday, morning on an 830am road ride from woodgrove to neotiew, we passed many friendly roadies coming e other direction. Bollywood's Poison ivy (cafe) was open, V & i stopped for figtea & came across the chatty Ivy S. Afternoon, bike shop & vivocity for hellboy (movie).. plus shopping at Daiso. Daiso's a $2 shop, filled with a huge & nice assortment of items ranging from kitchenware to gardening rakes to jap tidbits, it is almost inevitable to pick up something from e shop! One of my fav places :) . Finally, dinner at night with Cherri & Bentley, n then KO to dreamland halfway thru e daily highlights of Tour-de-france!

Creature hierachy

Notes on some thoughts this morning..

- how r plants n animals n humans different ? what do scientific reports say, what does e abhidharma say? what do i think.. hmm

- in this world, isnt it lucky that humans r e sole dominating creature? And all other creatures r a big rank below humans in intelligence quotient (iq) ? If there was another species close to human capability, might there be a war of e species.

- Thats great, no advanced predator/contender so there is Harmony on Earth!

- In e creature hierachy, Human reign's #1 on earth, there is no another species to war. Peace!

But let's consider this, humans just war within our same species.

So - so lucky there's no other smart animals, but so human that societies use so much resource to try exterminate & exploit each other. The biggest national spending in many countries, including singapore is on defense/ war.
Just a rambling mid-week thought...

My first road ride

Woa.. its a pretty trek marine blue - i just looked up e website, looks to be e wsd pilot 2.1 :)

29June Sunday early morning, we went fr woodgrove to mandai orchid farm n back, it was easier than i expected. The bumps in e road gets transmitted more than a mtb but e skinney wheels & aerodynamic design gives it much better speed on e road.
haha.. n it was a bit of a thrill to easily pull pass a mtb'er on knobblies. Inspired to join some crazy ppl on 5am rides now!

Got to get a new helmet n do a bit more training to join a group. haha.. n also not forgetting to give kona-lisa a good workout on e dirt-trails too!
