Influence in-place-of Control

An interesting point, extracted fr Stacy's performance measures 11insights.

Insight 3: Measure not what you can control, but what you can influence.

No-one really has control over anything other than their thoughts. We do have a lot of control over what we do, but even extraneous factors can limit that control too. If we only measured what we could control, we'd be measuring useless things. So expand your thinking to what you can influence, and you'll find yourself measuring much more meaningful results. Remember, your target doesn't have to be 100%.

Winnie's comments: of all 11 insights, i found this one most interesting.

Pre-christmas Ride

A mid-week wednesday ride thru orchard road.. upp thomson-scotts-orchard-spore river (return trip) , time taken ~3hrs.

Best lights - e lights draped on e huge trees in front of e istana, but its less than 5min b4 e guards come around ;)

Whimsical Christmas Tree - at paragon, deco'd with pretty pearls

Chjimes Maingate - another outstanding light feature

The City hall area (subtely lit classy neo-columns), esplanade with its blue-neon dotted dome, spacious padang, majestic fullerton is especially enjoyable on a cool night after e rains.

Definitely worth a Ride! haha.. n who says singapore is boring ??

Scuffed bumper

Again, e left front bumper of yaris got scuffed..

A j-plate car jumped queue, n while trying to squeeze in front of yaris, scraped itself against yaris! oh no.... n e driver didnt want to stop.

At e spore side chkpoint, e officer helped to stop e car n mediated. I am surprised and impressed at e diplomacy skills of e officer.

1st he got both of us to park our cars properly in e lots, then separately asked me what happened, and then walked across n asked e other party of his version. He did this twice, and then got us together to discuss... and advised us to settle "out of report" if possible.

After a few minutes, we settled on RM100 compensation for e yaris to be fixed. The other driver was a young 'ah-beng' looking chap(who didnt speak english), but seemed quite reasonable.. tho i think he would have just quickly driven away into johor if i had not stopped him at e chkpoint. HMM just another day of causeway excitement!
haha... well, i have a few other stories.. for e next posts!
