Forest adventure in Singapore

Its been a very Tree-ee weekend!
After all e tree mechnic chat with Franz, i also now look at trees more closely, to see if they r well balanced & stable ;)

sat am : Viewed a couple of tree-climbers on practise, this job needs a fair bit of technical-climbing & botany skills.

sat pm : Recce'd e forest adv. @ Bedok reservoir with friends. Its a neat place, well setup & with good safety. Climbed up rope ladders, gingerly traversed various tree-top challenges, zipped on flying fox lines above water (4x) & .... TARZAN swings. The entire course took 2hrs on a relaxed pace.

Tampines mtb sunday

What an unusually early sunday morning for me.. beginning at the start line at 815am for the women's open flag off.
i didnt know how much torture or fun it would be,... sometimes e unknown itself is e thrill ;)

Hmm, not having tried e route/trail, newly changed out spds, cleats, seat, tires which has hardly been tested/run-in.. thanks to a knack for getting into things at the last minute. The trail turned out to be manageable n fun, with plenty of open area switchbacks n mudfest in e forest. Seeing familiar faces & trailside cheers was great! That's why mtb'ing is soooooo fun.

First lap : Omigawd... u mean there's 2 more to go ?
2nd lap : Tired n lost attention for a moment, flew into a mudpool! Nearly ate dirt a few more times.. yikes.
3rd lap : Regained momentum n starting to get e hang of e trail. Hmm... now just all warmed up for more...lol

Still yet to get e technique to tackle e switchbacks efficiently. Got to go back n figure it out sometime :)

The friends in my life..

my friends r diverse, ol' sch-day friends, uni-friends, special jc friends(all non-sporeans), adventure, spiritual, travel..

i also count creatures as my friends, e birds who chirp for seeds in e garden, e ants who live in e kitchen, e very effervescent spaniel who lives in lentor.. :)

my fav ppl r also monks, nuns, lamas n they sometimes give me e best advise n lessons in life, no strings attached. i smile just to think of my friends.
