"Would have" Valentines Day

My husband is the best husband in the world! Cliche? I think so. True? I think so too. However, both of you (my two reader's) would probably argue that yours is the best. True? I think so. Luckily we all have different needs and attractions or else everyone would be in love with my husband :) haha jk So I guess the best way to re-write the beginning sentence would be to say "My husband is the best husband in the world for me!". There. And he is. The best. For ME.

Well, on this special day designated for "LOVE" (because of my poor motivation and hesitancy to love this holiday) I again, have lacked in the preparation for my husband. He deserves this day! But have I brought all he deserves to the table? Did he wake up to me cooking a hot breakfast in lingerie? Did he wake up to rose petals scattered on our bedroom floor and hearts plastered all over the walls with sappy love sayings written on them? Did I place hidden love notes in places he would discover during the day such as his backpack, locker room, football or scooter helmet, wallet etc? (this one I made a poor attempt to do). To put it sadly no. He did not. So I thought in order to semi-make up for my poor wife skills I thought I would post this to show him all of the things I would have LOVED to do for him if we had the money. Who said money can't buy happiness? :) So here are my cyber-valentines:

Landon and I have been wanting to travel to Europe since neither of us has ever been. What better place to spend the week of 'love day' than in the city of love itself PARIS. Babe, I would take you on a surprise trip to Paaree (as pronounced in french). We would have crepes and all sorts of carb-filled delights.
I would also surprise you with a ticket to the EAGLES game! Landon is such a huge fan of the eagles. He loves football. When he was younger his dad took him to an eagles game and since then Landon has been an eagles fan. I'd probably surprise you by wrapping a jersey so when you opened it, you thought the jersey was the whole present but then in a hidden envelope the tickets to Philly would unveil the whole present.

Then my next gift would be this gift card:
Landon loves music and having $10,000 to spend on music would probably be enough to satisfy every holiday for the next 10 years.

And my final valentines present would be this:

Landon loves golfing and he has wanted a new golf bag for some time. We just don't have the money, but if we did. I'd get one for you for LOVE day!

Geez, this would have been the best Valentines Day ever!!

Its true that Hallmark says it best... (I just saw a commercial that made me teary-eyed)

"Valentines Day is not for saying I love you. Its for saying I love us. I love who we are together. How we've grown from our nervous conversations- to the one we two have become. Valentines Day is for taking the time to say, I love US."

(don't you just love these pictures? We were 18 when we met. Crazy how 6 years flies by.)

And babe, I do LOVE US! We are perfect.
Happy Love Day Everyone!

My First Post.... Happy 24th to my Sweetheart!

There's a girl I can't resist! Today (Feb. 2nd) my wife Courtney is turning 24 and she is on the verge on some serious breakthroughs. In a few months she will officially grace the scene of the speech language pathology profession and I can guarantee she will be one of the best in the business. She is dang good at what she does even though she's humble about it. Also, I don't know when, but sometime here in the not-too-distant future she's going to become the all-time greatest mom. There are so many things about her character (smart, fun, in-touch, good with kids, sweet) that give me the full confidence to throw that out there. She's already proven herself as the sweet, fun, supportive wife that I enjoy every day. I can honestly say that getting married to Courtney almost 2 years ago is the best decision of my life. I'm looking forward to much more! Happy Birthday to my girl!
