FTL 23: Take Two!

Happy Friday! I've been counting down the days until Friday all week. I worked last weekend which means I only had Sunday off. Whenever this happens I always feel like I didn't get enough time to really recharge. However, this upcoming weekend is a 3-day one! Anyway, enough about that, here's the look back at the sketch! 

This is definitely one of my favourites! 

Here's my card. In light of the recent heat wave that has finally broken, I figured I'd use this fun cool treats set. I coloured the popsicle using a rainbow assortment of Copics and then covered it with glossy accents for that melty shine. I also used the smaller popsicles in this set to make some patterned paper.

FTL 22 - Take Two

This week I got these beautiful Ellen Hutson dies that I ordered…had to play with them instantly!!! And I was in the mood to get inky with a side of masking!! The card turned out just as I had pictured it in my head!!! Love when that happens!

After I blended the inks (evergreen bough and cracked pistachio distress inks) I spritzed it with some shimmer mist which sadly didn't show to well in the picture! Once that was done and dry I added this beautiful scripted word from Papertrey Ink stamped the sentiment under it….and just for a bit of a contrast as I mounted that inked panel on white card stock the card base I took the linen background stamp from MFT inked it up with versa mark and just added clear embossing over it…its very subtle but it was that little bit of contrast I was looking for!!

FTL 22- Take Two!

Happy Friday! Here's the look back the sketch #22! 

I was in the mood for a bit of watercolouring and emboss resist. I started out with the lovely flower from a Donna Downey/Unity Stamps set called Insightful Meadow. I embossed that with white onto the cotton paper. Next, I used a few Distress Inks to watercolour the background. I used Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, and Pine Needles. I used an old punch by Stampin' Up for the greeting. Since I decided to use brown ink and brown cardstock for the greeting, I felt like I needed to bring in brown elsewhere on the card. I splattered a bit of Dark Chocolate ink on my panel and then mounted the whole thing on a thin white mat. I thought Kraft worked nicely for the card base.

FTL21- Take Two!

Happy Friday! Here's the look back at sketch #21! This one is meant to be a square. Both of my samples were 4.5x4.5

My first card uses the One with Nature set. I wanted something very simple, using bright colours. Colours here are by Papertrey Ink- Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry and Dark Chocolate.

Even though I really liked the colours, I just wasn't feeling the first card. I decided to do another using cupcakes! I pulled out WPlus9's Sweet Treats for the cupcakes and Fresh Baked for the sentiment. I coloured the cupcakes with Copic markers. You can't see it in the photo, but I stamped cupcakes all over the black cardstock. I also jazzed up the yellow strip with some polka dots.

FTL20 take two

Good morning everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful summer so far!!! We sure are, especially now that we are all settled into our new home and I can finally get back to crafting!!

So heres my take on this weeks sketch. Its missing a few elements but I still like it, hope you do to!!

FTL20- Take Two

Happy Friday!

Here's the look back at Sketch #20!

I really wanted to use my new flamingo dies and the matching stamp set, so I didn't follow the sketch exactly. The size of the two items together made the proportions from the original sketch a little tough to match. I omitted the eyelets in the corners and the ribbon, but it still works well enough!

FTL19- Take Two!

Happy Friday! Here's the look back at the 19th sketch.

 

And here's my take on the sketch. I used this cute cow and sentiment from MFT's The Whole Herd. I coloured it with Copic markers and fussy cut it out.

 

 

Here's the full card. The little hill was made by diecutting a long oval and then chopping off the sides- it's pretty straight-forward I think.
