FTL 137 Enjoy The Moment

I hope that everyone is enjoying some time with family and friends this long weekend... it looks like spring may actually be coming for Easter this year where I live....  I'm going to break out the flipflops today even though there is still snow in my grass (in the shady areas of the yard).

I had fun with this layout.... and knew I needed to use some nice spring like colours to lift my spirits after the less than wonderful weather we've had in the last several weeks...
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Stampin' Up! Soft Sky, Old Olive
*Images:  PTI Mega Mixed Messages; Inkadinkadoo Dot Flourishes; My Sentiments Exactly Little Birdie
*Ink:  Stampin' Up! Old Olive, So Saffron, Soft Sky
*Embellishments:  Stampin' Up! Pink Pirouette twill

I wonder if I should have added a little bling to my flowers.....

I can't wait to see what you create!

Good morning everyone! It's time for another sketch challenge! This one was inspired by a few samples I saw in the recent special issue of Papercrafts Magazine, Color Inspiration for Card Makers.

  • Ink: Early Espresso, Vintage Cream, Cottage Ivy
  • Paper: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Vintage Cream

FTL135 Always A Friend

My son was away last week on a trip with his high school band... and I was a nice Mom and let him borrow my camera (just a point and shoot) to take on the trip...  so I couldn't take photos of cards until yesterday!  The kid had a great time, actually used the camera at a couple of their stops, and I am here with my CAS card for this week...

I will warn you... it's not what I had in my head...
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Stampin' Up! Pear Pizzazz
*Images:  unknown sentiment
*Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
*Embellishments:  Prima flowers; unknown button, Twinery twine

I hope you'll play along with us this week!

135!

Good afternoon!
I hope you're ready for another sketch! Everyone has been doing such an amazing job with the sketches! I love it!
Here's the sketch:
Here's my take on it! I was looking for an excuse to use my new edger and doily dies and this card just kind of grew out of that!
I stamped both the butterfly and the doily with the textstyle background. I sponged the edges of the doily to give it a softer look. The card front is actually shorter than the card back- the dark chocolate strip is on the card interior.
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Textstyle II, Big and Bold Wishes
  • Ink: Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream
  • Paper: Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy Bitty Boxes paper
  • Accessories, etc.: Edgers #2 die, Doily Details die, Love Lives Here die, Ribbon

FTL134 Happy Birthday

Just a quick post from me today...  I find it interesting that many of us thought "buttons" when we saw this sketch... of course I did since they are my newest obsession!
Items Used:
*Cardstock:  PTI White; Stampin' Up! Pacific Point
*Images:  Impress
*Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
*Tools:  Big Shot; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder; Corner Chomper
*Embellishments:  assorted buttons

Not quite the card I started making as I couldn't find flowers in my stash that were the right size to go with the buttons and fit on the card front.... but I do like how it turned out.

FTL134 Cute as a Button

I made this a One Layer Card.  I drew the frame around the buttons and sentiment to create a faux layer.  I used PaperTrey's button die and chip board to create the buttons.  I stamped them with Memento Bermuda Bay ink and PaperTrey's Bitty Background Blocks gingham image.  The buttons are threaded with embroidery thread. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Paper's Sew What set.
