Luke Turns 7!

I took Steak n Shake to Luke's school for lunch.  He invited his friend, Ethan, to join us.

It was the first time with did a party away from home.  Luke and his friends had lots of fun, but I had trouble turning over control.  :)

The Star Wars cupcakes with lightsabers were a favorite.

Luke got a new record with the ticket blaster, collecting over 2,000 tickets!

Here he is with his gift from us.  It was a big hit with the whole cul-de-sac!

Happy Birthday, Luke!  We are so happy to have you in our family, and we love you tons and tons.  We can't believe you are seven! AAhhhhhhh!!!!

Max Stuff I Don't Want To Forget

I know that this video may only be cute to me, but I love it.  We were visiting Audrey's new school to "meet the teacher", and Max picked up some toys, sat down at a little table, and started making all the sound effects.  It was so MAX, and I loved how he was perfectly content to play by himself.  I tried to sneak a video over his shoulder.

Jump-roping at the park

I don't usually get to see how tender and sweet he looks when he is sleeping, but occasionally he will fall asleep on someone's lap.  He fell asleep on my brother, Alex.

And then once on Clay's mom, Becky.

You can't get much cuter than Max.  You can't get much crazier, either.  I love you, Buddy.

Audrey is 5!

On August 23, Audrey turned 5!  I can't believe it!  My mom, grandma, and I took Audrey out for a fancy lunch at a tea room.

Then, we headed over to the mall to fulfill Audrey's long-time wish: to have her ears pierced.

This face cracks me up.  We were worried for a minute there that she would only have one ear pierced, but she was really brave and let them do the other.

 What a big girl!

We also went to a salon to get our nails done.  (Yes, it was a different day, but I stuck it in here anyway.  We were supposed to do it at this point, but ran out of time.)  Audrey thought she was something pretty special, even getting special flower designs on her nails.

She requested a strawberry cake, and I tried to make it look like a flower.  It was pretty much a failure, but oh well.  It tasted good.

She received lots of fun gifts: Barbies from G&G Allphin, cool hair accessories from G&G Hall, and new earrings from us.

Happy Birthday, Princess!

Swimming at Grandpa and Grandma's!

We used our new neighborhood pool a few times, but our favorite hot weather hangout was my parents' pool.  We had lots of fun days there.

On Labor Day, Rebecca, Brad, and family joined us for some pool fun.

Soon, the kids combined swimming with Legos.  Who knew?!

Grandma Gibby loved watching her great-grandkids swim.
