May!

May was fun!! Lots of exciting things took place, my birthday, the end of the preschool year for Riley and Reese, we attended a wedding in South Carolina, and just had normal everyday days too.

First up was the end of year "program" for the girls school. I adore their sweet, simple school and am thankful for it. The teachers are so loving and kind and work hard planting seeds in our children. Reese had only been attending HC since Spring Break, but she took to it so well. She loved every moment at school and I loved to hear about how she and Riley would light up to see each other on the playground. Just melted my heart!

Riley made a card for one of her classmates' birthday party. Precious handwriting!

The umbrella. Probably one of Riley's favorite things to play with.

Carrots are still doing good!

Riley performed in her second dance recital!!! She did two routines, one tap and one ballet. So sweet!

Proud supporters!

Reese even received some flowers. Thoughtful of my parents and sister to think of her.

I got to take pictures of sweet Molly for my good friend Courtney. Beautiful baby girl!

Love that sweet family!

Riley and Reese started gymnastics this summer, second summer for Riley and first time for Reese. They both love it! We tried a new gym this year and Riley has enjoyed it so much more!

First haircut for Reese! Second for Riley!

Nothing drastic. :)

Reese anxiously waiting her turn. She was a champ and the cutting never even phased her.
The lollipop may have helped. :)

One of Clay's good friends from high school got married in Columbia, SC over Memorial Day weekend. Clay was a groomsman and so we made the trip out to SC a few days early and got to spend some much needed time alone together in Charleston before the wedding. We had a great time and enjoyed the one on one time together. Charleston is a neat city and know for it's food. I must say I ate very very well! This trip was just a few short days after my birthday (and it just so happened Clay was in Vegas for work on my birthday, so we celebrated at dinner one evening.) We are both so thankful for my parents who came to Houston to watch the girls, despite a crazy busy time in their own life (they were getting ready to move closer to Houston! Selling their home, finding a new home, etc.)

After much fun in Charleston, we made our way to Columbia for the wedding. It was great to catch up with and be around several of Clay's best high school friends and their wives!!

Some observations about SC. People think Texans are proud of our state (and we are!) But I know SC's are just as proud. Their symbol (can't remember what it is called now) is everywhere. They are also super hospitable people and love to tell about the history of their state. And their wedding attire is no joke. Men, even young men, in white suits and bowties was the norm. Also all the men wore Harry Potter style glasses and stylish or patterned shoes.
Finally, they can dance really well. They must all take ballroom starting in preschool or something because they can move their feet. At least until the modern music started up and then watch out...the Texans came on full force into the dance floor. :)

Such fun relaxing time but it was so so good to see our girls!

Harvesting our carrots. and making room for a new raised bed.

Fun month!
