It's Been A While...

It's been a while since I've posted and I figured I would get all caught up at once!  Jewels is now 9 months old and is soo BIG!  I can hardly even keep up with her.  She had been crawling backwards for a while but she is starting to go forward, getting up on her knees and walking in her walkers.  It is definitely time to start baby proofing...she mainly has one area that she plays in at our apartment so it shouldn't be too hard!  She loves electric cords of any kind and can spot one two rooms away.  However, her being mobile has made the past week so much better.  Usually she won't play for more than 5-10 minutes by herself; but now that she can crawl around and actually get to her toys (and not get stuck under the couch) she is so happy!  Whenever I said I can't wait for her to crawl people would say, oh you'll regret that. She is such a stubborn determined little girl that I just knew her being able to physically get what she wanted would make her so much happier!  I love a happy girl :))

Cody has started school again and it has proven to be as challenging as ever.  But we know that the hard work will be all worth it one day!!  This semester's trial will be trying to plan the birth of our new baby around his ever demanding finals schedule.  We're just tyring to have lots of faith in the Lord's timing and know that everything will work out somehow!!

We found out that our new baby will be a boy and his name is going to be KC Shane Mitchell!  We are super excited and I am just counting down the days!  Hopefully we will be all settled into our new house by the time.  The process of preparing for a new home has been very rewarding and Cody and I are also very excited to start that new adventure.  Lots of things on the horizon and I just can't wait for April!

The past few months have been very rewarding as well!

Jewels' first Christmas was very fun.  We spent Christmas morning in Austin and then drove home that afternoon for Christmas with my family.

1st Christmas!!

Being an angel in the car :) Really she struggles with her car seat and we bought her a DVD player that 50% of the time puts her straight to sleep.

It's been a joke in our family that they don't make big sister clothes small enough for her...turns out that's true.  So she has the super cute pair of hand made big sister panties from her Nana!

Playing with some of her new toys that she got for Christmas!

For New Year's Eve we had a party at my mom's house.  I was super tired and fell asleep and so did baby (but we all kind of expected that.)  My sister's friend was here from BYU and and we played wii and just hung out and enjoyed good food and family!

Baby Jewels ringing in the new year!

BYU also played in the Armed Forces Bowl this year and it took place at SMU.  I got a babysitter for Jewels so we could enjoy the game and it turned out to be a pretty good game at the end.  It was great getting to see Cassie cheer and is one of my favorite things to do!!

There are lots of fun things coming up in our future and I am really looking forward to the next few months.  I am planning a trip to California to see Cassie compete and Cody is going to Houston on a business trip the week of Spring Break.  We are going through the pre approval process of buying our first home and plan to close in the middle of April.  And of course KC will be making he debut in the beginning of MAY!!
