October and Halloween

So I guess it is an appropriate time to post about Halloween, as we are fast approaching Thanksgiving.  We had such a fun time dressing up, trick or treating and celebrating all month.

We started out the month by going to a pumpkin patch in Keller.  Jewel's loved it and it was her first chance to really experience it.  KC was very happy but did not "get it" like his big sis.  My sister and nephew were also able to come with us, we always have fun when all the babies are together.  They had all these cute cutouts of their favorite characters and they all enjoyed that.  This day it was like 85 degrees out, you know perfect fall weather.  Jewels went dressed as a bumble bee and KC wore his jack o lantern shirt.

Later that month my grandma Grieco came into town.  We went to the Dallas Arboretum and played there.  They had a million pumpkins and a cute hay bale maze.

Our next fun outing was our wards trunk or treat.  A member in our ward has a bunch of land that we went to.  They had tons of activities for the babes and trick or treating at the end of the night.  Jewels went dressed as a lady bug and KC was a scarecrow.  We didn't get a ton of cute pics but, it was documented!

The playgroup from our ward had a fabulous pumpkin party.  We did crafts, played at the park and painted pumpkins.

Next we went to the trunk or treat at Matt and McKenna's ward.  By this time they really had this Halloween thing down.  All three of the kids were minions from Despicable me.  Juliette was the crazy purple one!

And then it was finally Halloween!  The kids had SOO much fun trick or treating.  They all three went together and they all were happy and NO tears!  Bonus :) We went to two cul de sacs in my parents neighborhood and then they were done.  All is all it was a wonderful month and we loved spending so much time together as a family!

KC Shane Mitchell - An Update

A few months ago I saw this picture on pinterest.

I could pretty much just leave it at that and you would know almost everything about KC.

I would have to add that he always carries a bat!  He is always screaming, always dirty from something, and can be always be seen with a bat or ball.  This boy loves his baseball!  I'd like to think that he was born with that :)  It sure does make his daddy super proud! Sadly enough he did not make it to a Ranger game this year, the one we planned on attending late in the season (so it wasn't a million degrees) was rained out.  Next year though, ya know when we have to pay to take them ;)

One of KCs greatest traits he has, in my opinion, is his love for his family.  Whenever he is with me, he is asking about Cody and vice-versa.  He always asks about his Nana and Bapa too!  He loves all of us being together.  He especially loves his big sis.  He wants to be just like her, follows her everywhere and repeats the things she says.  He loves to play rough and tackle her all the time.  They are just the best of friends and it makes me so happy to see them together.  I know that KC was just waiting in heaven to come down and join his sister. I like to think that's why he surprised us so fast after Jewels was born.

This crazy boy keeps me on me feet and going, going all the time.  He is so sweet and sensitive and a huge blessing to me and our entire family.

Juliette Virginia Mitchell - An update

Juliette is almost 2 1/2 years old!  She is such a joy in our lives.  I love being able to spend everyday with her making me laugh.  She is learning so much, so fast.  She just loves to learn and is always asking me to help her with her numbers and letters.  So far she knows her colors, shapes, and numbers 1-20.

My favorite thing that she has started doing recently is singing.  She usually only gets in every third word when she is singing along with the TV.  She loves to play ring around the rosy, especially with KC.  She always tries to make him hold hands whether he wants to or not.

She is so good with her little brother and cousin and loves bossing them around.  Those three have so much fun together. She loves little babies and is excited to meet her new cousin next month.  So many of my friends have new babies and she takes care of all of them.  She takes care of her baby dolls when there are no real babies.  She takes them into her room and places them in her bed with lot of blankets.  She then slowly walks out of the room and closes the door softly.  She must have seen me do that with KC a million times.  Funny that will never work with her!

She is probably one of the worst sleepers of all time!  Right behind me, according to my mom.  When she was a baby I was on the internet all the time trying to come up with anything that would help her sleep through the night.  2+ years later...I've learned to embrace it, enjoy her snuggle time, and hope that one day she sleeps through the night.

Today she started the sweetest thing ever.  I was talking to her about screaming every time I do her hair and, how she needs to stop.  So when we were done talking she said "I sorry mama".  The rest of the day anytime I talked to her in a stern voice she would say sorry.  It was so sweet and good to see she is starting to understand the principal of forgiveness.

I love this little girl with all my heart and she brings me so much joy!  I laugh and roll my eyes at how crazy silly she is everyday!

Blog Challange: Fail

So I have a lot of respect for people who can keep up a blog.  I made a goal to post at least once a week exactly 1 month ago...Never. Happened. Once. So I'll try again.

The last month, in my defense, has been a tad crazy!  We took a trip to Austin, trip to Utah, Cassie came into town, and Cody had his wisdom teeth out.  Lots of time with family and we have loved every second :)

We went to Austin to celebrate Cody's graduation with his family and had so much fun.  His dad stayed up all night to slow smoke a brisket for us and it was by far the best barbecue that I have ever had.  Ever.

We also took a trip to the Round Rock outlet malls and had some fun shopping and going out to lunch!  Cody's parents also bought the kids the cutest blow up pool and new swim suits.  They had so much fun swimming though it was a bit cold.  The only day in the history of August in Texas to be in the 70*s!

Our good friends had the cutest gender reveal party.  Jewels and I were team pink and Cody and KC sided with blue.  Girls won...obviously!  So excited for Ryan and Ashleigh!

Our yearly trip to Utah was amazing as always.  We didn't really plan it this way, but looking back we have been to a BYU football game every year Cassie has cheered there.  I love watching her do something she loves, and it crazy to think that her 12 year cheerleading "career" is almost over.

We don't have a picture from 2010.  We had no kids though, so I can assume that it was the best game. I love when my babes are with me, but a college football game with newbies and toddlers can be challenging at times!

2011 game...freezing cold and tiny baby Jewels

2012 Million degree game...Tiny baby KC, but he his hiding in the shade.

2013 Monsoon game.  We had a two hour rain delay and the biggest Provo storm, but it ended perfect!  A cool, breezy, very late night
Cody's parents are from Austin...naturally the felt the need to support UT.  Luckily, BYU won!

This time we also squeezed in a visit with Cody's grandparents who live a couple hours away from Provo.

Lastly, we went and walked around temple square.  It is beautiful this time of year and I love going back and visiting the place that Cody and I were married!  The naughtykins were not posing for any photos the way I would have liked...good thing their mischievousness shows on camera as cuteness!

It was a great trip that I will always remember.  I hate that Cass lives so far away but, love that we have a reason to go to Utah every so often.

Just Pretend It Didn't Happen

So I just went back and looked and it has officially been a year since I last posted.  It actually makes me really sad because I wanted this to be a journal of such, but actually it turned out to be little-to-nothing.  Well that is going to change today! My goal is going to be 4 posts a month.  The hardest part will be remembering!  I am not even going to pretend that I am going to catch up on the last year so we will just have to pretend my blogging MIA didn't happen!

A few AWESOME events of the past little while:

1) McKenna and I made Peach Strawberry freezer jam and it was delicious!
2)  My good friend found out she was pregnant after trying for over a year!  It has taught me a lot about God's timing and His will.
3) Cassie came home for a week long visit.  It was tons of fun to get to spend time with her before her crazy time of year happens!
4)  CODY GRADUATED!! Yeah, that's right he is finally done.  Could not be more proud of him!!

So this is the start of something new and it is going to be fantastic!!

Here are some pictures to make up for it!  Clearly I need more pictures of KC

Cousin Time!!  Love having all of these babes together!

Jewels just got a tiny new baby doll that can go in the bath with her.  She had a meltdown every other night because her babies couldn't get wet.

She went to a princess party that a lady in our ward hosted.  She insisted on wearing her RedSox hat.  I was torn on whether to be proud or insist that we brush her crazy hair.

My Handsome Guys!!

Playing outside with dad!  Excuse everything about her appearance, except the cuteness, we were potty training and not leaving the house and only wearing panties!
