Did my first Triathlon yesterday (May 16th, 2009). The swim was in a pool and was complete havok! Too many people said they could swim faster than they really could. I passed 5-6 people in a 300 meeter swim, with a 12 second gap per person. Slowed me down quite a bit, it was kinda frustrating.
The bike was awesome and the run went pretty well. It kinda made me wonder why I had signed up for the St. George marathon though...
My mom did the triathlon with me and placed 3rd in her division. I was hoping to finish in 1:20 and did it in 1:15. I was pretty happy about that. It was an awesome race, I look forward to doing more in the future!

New York 2008
We went to New York to see the US Open. We had such a great time. We had courtside seats and were able to see Roger Federer and Andy Roddick both play. While we were there we were able to catch a Yankees game which is one of our yearly traditions Chad started when Josh was born. We saw the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Central Park. Besides the hot dog vendors on the streets (yum) we had some really great culinary experiences. Since Chad is a big Bobby Flay fan we went to a couple of his restaurants, Bar Americain and Mesa Grill. Then we hopped on the subway and had dessert at Serendipity; the Strawberry Fields ice cream sunday is highly recommended!

Cancun 2007
We went to Cancun for our 10 year anniversary. A few days into it we got a notice from the hotel that a level 5 hurricane was projected to hit Cancun within the next day or two. We were given plastic bags to put our luggage in and were told to evacuate to the conference center bringing id and only the essentials. We spent the night on pool chairs in the conference center with 100's of other people. The activities staff was awesome. We played games, watched movies and ate food all night and we met a ton of people. The hurricane ended up turning and we only got the tail end of it, though it still did quite a bit of damage. Turns out it was one of the funnest vacations we have ever had!
