Wet N Wild Run - After thoughts
Here is a post to the future 50 year old me. Lying in bed with the medical patch of koh-yoh-bor stuck on my back... Well two days ago, I joined the Wet n Wild Run, an obstacle race with the YOLO girls. Ironically, this YOLO attitude that guided many of our actions lately is a reflection of not youth, but age and denial. And to a large extent the desire to catch hold of the tail of the ending before the big three. I have digressed. So back to the obstacle race, at this bouncy castle obstacle which requires leaping off a 2 metre high platform to land on a huge inflated ball (taller than me) followed by two similar balls... Matter of fact, most don't even make it to the first. But with some encouragement i landed on the top of the first ball. The 2nd leap of faith was a mistake and total overestimation of my ninja abilities, which apparent don't exist. Hands barely made it to the 2nd ball, chin definitely did graze the 2nd ball evidenced by the abrasion under the chin, with legs still sadly trailing behind at the first ball. Before i could realised the distance of the gap between the first and second ball, i heard a loud crack of my back and fell right through. First thoughts "oh shit! not again!". This time round (vs the knee snapping experience), i didn't dare to move. Recovering from the shock, i slowly got up. Not sure if its the muscles or bones or whatever, i had a inclination something was wrong, yet it seems pretty alright overall physically. Just hoping this is not the calm before the storm. Two days on, back is aching very badly. I find myself walking with difficulty and getting up with some strain on the back. I hope its a muscle thing that will recover given sufficient rest and time. To the 50-year-old me, if you are suffering with a weak body due to your decision as a 27-year-old, i say "Forgive yourself, for you have lived the way a young mind should. Be proud of yourself and be thankful of your friends who have spent this youth with you." Hope the injury isn't that bad. Really. Meanwhile, may you be wiser and stronger by the day - body and mind. Be it the last years in the twenties or those as you mature to 50 or the graceful aging beyond 50, may you live life to the fullest. Remember all reasons to be happy always. Not sure when is the next time i will come back to this space... but till then... Take care! Cheers! :)

Hello Cindy
For some unexplained reason, i find myself back at this familiar space, reading this old blog of mine. Last post dated August 2007. More than 5 years back.
Should i call it foresight that i named this blog "never let it fade away"? If not for these junk that i had written then... Now, i wouldn't have found myself laughing at memories that i had cleanly forgotten about and pondering over snippets of my younger days which shaped me the way i'm today. I'm grateful. For friends whom i have lost touch, i hope you are doing well. For those whom i have been in close contact, i'm really glad. And oh man, we reeeally go a long way back.
It feels great to "rediscover" yourself, oddly though - in the same fashion people learn about history by piecing bits of info to time, facts, memories and thoughts. Today, i'm 25. Honestly, not quite the way the nineteen-year-old me would have imagined to be. Wished i had achieved more. I suppose character can change over time, but not much. Some streaks just persist if you know what i mean.
Looking back at the 5 years gone with the wind, so much had happened. Ups and downs. Some things turned out better, some otherwise. Things change and people come and go. Well, that's life. While many things are beyond control, you can make choices in life. Just like turning the sails, to ride with the wind or to steer to where you want to be.
So to my future self, if i ever read this again...
I hope you become a better person - in every sense of that statement.
I hope you find yourself surrounded by people you love and people who love you.
I hope you stay positive. Whenever you feel low, tell yourself this: "When you are down, the only way is up!"
I hope you will be happily doing things you enjoy. Dreams or aspirations may change over time, but the heart to pursue your dreams should stay passionate and strong. Never let the flame die.
Never let your life fade away.

expectation theory
the theory never fails. high disappointment will only come if u have high expectations to begin with. so basically no expectation = no disappointment. simple maths. i have learnt to lower my expectations over the years. it is me learning to be more practical, more realistic? or is it just a sign of getting old?

Hair Revival Episode
met up with zhen today. both of us burnt holes in our pockets, but we had our hair nicely done! dyed, highlighted, cut n even had treatment! full package basically! woohoo!~ i m supposed to b broke. but then again its money well-spent. at least i feel so, my fringe was trimmed and revived!!! great! our highlights are pretty. and zhen has a complete new hairdo. i cant bear to cut mine thou, imagine the money spent on rebonding last time? hahaha... anw... *taa-daa*
anw, we went shopping n had nice food! esp that cheese sausage with mashed potato! and the iced yuan yang! totally rocks! we'll definitely go back or more =D

Great experience in a Mazda 6
i went for FnG today... and that not the climax of today's event... after FnG we decided to pop by 179 coffeeshop there for some food... and we took gary's Mazda 6 there... Its probably my next dream car alr.
Anw, the main pt was, gary n jaren got off the car, while me n wanying were fishing for our wallets at the back seats... then gary happily locked his car n walked off, thinking that we got off the car alr! OMG! and so the 2 of us got locked up in the car, thanks to the double-lock sys (ie. u cant get out from inside the car when its locked from the outside)
at out wits' end, we horned at him, apparent he turned around n walked off... walau eh... n we thought he was playing a prank for us, so we waited till we almost suffocated in the car. it's then we realised that he REALLY didn't know we're still in the car... Finally, after a few phone calls, one person (simei) picked up our call for help... and gary the superblur guy came to free us from hell... This is so classic! i think it sent the whole team laughing madly.. What a memorable experience man!
but thanks to that, i think gary felt guilty, or mayb he was being nice, he sent all of us back home to our doorsteps! haha! =)
oh yar another thing... i saw the hall 12 GLs at the coffeeshop, quite a few of them thou i heard at least 5 GLs left. erm, i feel kinda guilty for pangseh-ing, but the whole world is telling me its only sane to not go for FOC when i m not allocated a hall room. aiyah wadeva lar. a choice is made. shuden regret.

post bday celebration from mad + pj! =)
we're all bz people. but then we dun forget to get tgt to celebrate for each other. despite being really belated. still.. it makes a good reason for the babes to gather once again, and have good time n good food as usual!~ haha. this time round we visited the hardrock cafe!!! great ambience i think, too bad we missed the live band. damn it, but dun worry. we will be back! anw, i got discount! wahahahah... so next time wanna go jio me there! heehee.
anw, due to some unforseen circumstances, mad din know the gathering was partially for her bday, n she nearly 'fly us aeroplane' (fang fei ji), but we met her later at esplanade to cut cake! =) we evidently reused the cake. oops. coz the hardrock ppl got miscommunication, so they took our cake out to celebrate for mad n pj, when mad wasnt there. so paiseh. =X

theres a place for everyone...
i was on the train today. and i observed something comical. pardon me if it may be offending, but seriously it was amusing n meaningful in a sense. haha. i saw this group of 4 frens, they were walking towards the two 2-seaters at the end of the carriage. n out of these 4 ppl, theres this super skinny guy, and this kinda plump guy. he sat down first, there and then i was thinking: this guy is almost taking up 2 seats man. hmm inconsiderate. then the next thing i saw was the skinny guy slipping into the seat next to him, almost comfortably! ta-dah!~ haha.. perfect!
i mean wad do u see? it occurs to me that everyone fits in somewhere... there's a place for everybody... it's just a matter of finding it... finding the right fit... isn't it? you may think that u dun fit into the society, u're alone, and things like that... but NO... its just a matter of exploring where u belong. =) No one is a misfit, no one is mistake. everyone is born for a reason. just think of how u can bring joy n laughters to others lives... everyone's existence should be treasured, and should be meaningful! *winks*

triangle plate
bro came again today. actually i needed a lift to PASIR RIS to get smth from jl. my mum dusen trust me to take the wheels. so i had to get my bro to send me there. however when bro came, he asked me to drive, so i tot just drive ard in the car park, but it was a one way road, so i just turned out to the main rd...
i tot its ok, we'll just drive ard the estate, no big deal, but no... he said, "u wanted to go pasir ris rite? keep let, go CTE!" i was *shocked* but heck lar, just go man! haha... so i drove on the expressway for the first time. hmmm. 100km/h. first time in my entire life. just for the stretch with few cars. anws, i was damn high, laughing to myself my bro tot i went crazie!
after getting my stuff i wanted to borrow jl's triangle plate, coz i realised i have been driving without it, but i think he still needed it, so i just went off... headed to the petrol kiosk to top up petrol. out of a sudden, i decided to check if they sell triangle plates... and so i bot them n was busy sticking them to the car. just when i was doing that, a Traffic Police car drove into the petrol kiosk. DAMN LUCKY!!! haha.. FYI: during probation period, failure to display the triangle plate, a fine of $120 will be imposed. repeat offenders will have license revoked. thankew. haha. *phew* i drove all the way from amk to pasir ris, safely. haha.
after challenging the expressways, my next challenge was to drive to TOWN! haha. traffic was crap in town. finding carpark was a chore. it dusen help that pc fair was on. and there was some rd construction. grrrr. lane changing was an impossible task. my parking sux too.
oh yar b4... i just came out from expressway... i was on the extreme right of this 5 lane rd i think, n my bro said, "we gotta turn left." OMG! haha.. lane change for 4 lanes at one go lar! pls lor, i havent even drove on a 4-lane rd b4. exciting man. *wipes sweat*
lucky its an auto car. i m beginning to appreciate that fact. =D

Fun & Games
Finally, i went for my first fun n games after a long long time... after being niao at for not going for 2 weeks' FnG... Despite having a quiz the next day which i havent studied for, i went... and guess wad? i kena pangseh by so many ppl.. there were only 3 undergrad girls when we played grad vs undergrad. then again, it might b a blessing in disguise, coz we gotta play a lot!!! wahahaha.. i played forward for qte a few rounds, the sprints made me quite shiok! lols. i miss those days where i played fwd in rj. i have kinda gotten used to my new defender role.
nva got to play with veron or simei coz we were rotating... but i got to play with some of the floorball undergrad guys, like vinny, guan, john, n i cant rmb the names. lols. haha, nice experience, it really felt like a big floorball family... coz usually trngs are separate n theres little interaction b/w the teams... i shoudl come for more fun n games, n prob i will get more used to how the guys play...
To sum it up, as the name suggests, we played lotsa games n had a hell lot of fun! haha =)
