How do you handle stress?

As I grow, mature, or gain wisdom, whatever you would like to call it; I learn more and more about myself. For example I handle major stressful event fairly well, but minor mishaps....that's another story!

When our now three year old had an unprovoked seizure when she was a baby while my hubby and I were 4 states away, I didn't fall to pieces in panic. we couldn't control the situation so we handed it over to God prayed and it all turned out to be okay, though it took months of testing to arrive to that conclusion.

It's seems though that I need to apply this attitude to the minor things as well; let go and offer it to God.

Last week I was a basket case! My honey was out of town for the entire week. So it was just me and the 6 kiddies. It's not the first time I've been on my own for a few days with the kids., but it feels like whenever he is gone if the little stuff can go wrong it will!

On Day one I got a call from Kaiya's school to come pick her up as she was in the bathroom vomiting.

On day two I go a flat tire picking up the boys from school. Picture 6 hungry kids in a very small mechanics waiting room for 2 1/2 hours!

By day three I hadn't been able to get to the post office to mail packages, so I went to print out my postage and the printer was out of ink, of course so was out local Office Depot as was the one in the next two towns! I finally found ink hurried home to get it back in the printer so I could make the evening pick up at the post office, only to find that the printer was also malfunctioning. I didn't make it to the post office.

Day four our computer monitor died. It just shut off mid e-mail no warning and never came back on.
By this point I was in tears! Not only was I behind on getting orders in the mail but now I didn't even have computer access to tell my customers about it.

But I pulled it together, put a smile on my face for the kids and kept on trucking.

Thank the Lord my honey is back home, we bought a new monitor, and fixed the printer...and also discovered the Target up the street carries the black ink for our printer, $4 cheaper than office depot and the are well stocked...sigh!

Oh and packages are in the hands of the post office :O)

Am I alone in this? Does anyone else handle stress this way or know how to let go?

Wildflowers

I'm loving these sweet little flowers! You can find this pair in my shop.

Newbies!

I must say this every time I make something new but ...I think I have a new favorite! This sweet little necklace has a hand made flower soldered to the front. Expect to see many many more designs with these flowers. I think I'll call them my Wildflower collection in honor of my favorite Tom petty song "Wildflowers".

Remember this...

Okay so I know it's only August and most of us are only thinking of the kids going back to school...but I'm starting to plan this years giveaway early. Last year was great but needed way more planning and organization!

For anyone who missed out, it was a pretty big giveaway with 12 daily prizes and a grand prize of 12 larger items most from etsy sellers, or stay at home mommy friends.

I'm starting to round up this years designers to feature. I'm working on three pieces that are special just for this but I'd love to check out some other artists.

Do you know anyone? Maybe you?
I'm looking for recommendations on who to feature this year. Your favorite etsy shop? A good friend with an amazing talent? Art work, pottery, kids wear, purses, candles, yummy homemade goodies?...Let me know. Leave me a link in the comment section so I can check them out.

Keep in mind, contrary to my kids opinion, I don't have a money tree in my yard so super expensive art work and jewelry wont make it into this years giveaway. Sorry :O)

They Grow so fast!

Some days motherhood is a bitter sweet adventure. Our oldest headed off to middle school today. It's a new school on the other side of town so none of her grade school friends will be there. I worried she might be nervous.

She did great! She asked me to walk her to the front of the school, but assured me she could find her first class on her own. She gave me a hug, turned and confidently walked into her middle school, head held high and a big smile lighting up her pretty face.

I started to cry. I really didn't think I would be emotional. I didn't cry the first day of kindergarten for any of the kids.

It's hard to let go but she is embarking on a new journey where she needs us beside her, but doesn't need to hold my hand each step of the way any more.

We are so proud, sniff sniff!

Thomas and Gabriel headed back today as well. Gabriel was so excited to start first grade and Thomas loved being the oldest sibling on campus.

Something new!

I've added a new key chain to my collection. Simple and sweet. The little heart is soldered on to the oval which can be customized with names or words. You can find it here in my SHOP tonight.

Fun at the park

We headed out to Vail lake this afternoon for a Bar-B-Que with friends.

The kids ate hot dogs, played games, climbed trees and made friends with frogs chased the dogs someone brought, ate some more and played football with daddy.

It was bliss :O)

New Moon Challenge/Giveaway.....

There is just something about the Twilight series.

I have my issues with it (don't hate me if you are a die hard fan!)

Bella is a bit too needy. She whines and gives up. She is not the strong heroin that I wish she was, and yet I am completely intrigued by the story.

Maybe it is the young romantic in me, with a slight attraction to the darker mysteries of the world and an un-dieing desire to find the good in even the most hopeless creatures.

I just can't help it I'm pretty excited to see "New Moon"

With the movie premiere looming a few months out and Halloween to come just before I've decided to create a couple of pieces dedicated to Bella's torn spirit and mysteries of Edward and Jacob.

I thought I would make this Giveaway a bit of a challenge. So here it is....
