Day of Friends & Fellowship - Monday!

Started with a small chat with Suzy at the door of her office after I passed her some documents, we ended up talking for the next hour and went for dinner instead. Chatted for another 2 hrs before we walked to the MRT station and parted. What a surprise yet fruitful fellowship I had!

When I exited from the MRT, met Desmond who don't even stay near me! He was on his way to supper and was waiting for his fren to pick him up, so while waiting he walked me back and had a good time catching up on his work and stuffs.

Saw on FB that Adrian had a great dinner with his loved ones, Roy had a nice dinner with Pst & close friends. Monday is really a day of friends & fellowship!

Sometimes, its good to purposefully not pack our schedule with back-to-back appointments and be ready for God's beautiful surprises! =)

What an adventurous morning! - Thank God we made it!

*HP rings*
Opened my eyes and was super shocked to realize it's bright daylight! I was supposed to LEAVE my house at 6.30am to pick up a volunteer for a training at Yishun! Looked at my watch, 7.20am!!!

Made a dash to the bathroom, brushed my teeth & showered; ran back to my room to dress up and pack (or maybe should I say 'throw') my laptop, makeup pouch, etc. into my bag; dashed out of my house.

Waited 5 minutes (which seems like forever) for the cab and politely requested for cab driver to speed up for us. Then started praying real hard that we won't be late! Class is starting at 8am! Meanwhile put on my makeup; boot up my laptop and load the training materials, went through them once and update my colleagues my whereabouts.

Thank goodness, we made it into the school at 7.55am! Ran towards the classroom, only to realize that the security guard was chasing after us cos we ran past the temperature taking station!! Man! Had to run back to take temperature, take sticker before I can continue my sprint towards the classroom, which I do not yet know where it is. Brisk walked down the corridor, checking out every classroom sign and finally got to the last classroom...bingo.

Walked into the class, smiled at my colleague who had set up the system for me, put down my stuffs and there goes the 8am 'Class Begin' bell.

Thank You God for redeeming me!

Born to Win? - Amazing!

Check out the baby doing a Victory-sign during the ultrasonic scan! Is he/she posing for the photograph?

Dad of baby said, "the child is male or female, we are the same. But he was born, we may need to be taught him some good manners, lest he grew up too proud.”

LOL!

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not over you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Amen! and AMEN!

4 Bloopers in 10 minutes - only Yours Truly is capable of it...

Set off from RW to buy orange juice at Central mall, helping colleague to withdraw $$ & buy chocs...

1. Put my stuffs on the floor of the lift lobby to tie my shoelaces; picked up my wallet and left my colleagues' ATM cards on the floor; ran back again to find 2 ATM cards lying on the floor; thank God.

2. Went in the lift and saw a big bug inside; wanted to run out of the lift; pressed 'Door Close' button instead of 'Door Open'; had to dash out of the 'Door Closing' lift.

3. Went ATM; did not input amount and pressed 'With Receipt'; "Your amount is below the minimal $20, would you like to re-enter the amount?"; Of couse I have to.

4. Withdrew the $$ for my colleagues, picked up the chocs for them too, went to the cashier; I forgot my own orange juice.

How smart am I...

Raw Food Cures From God - Looks cool!

Got this email from Walter and thought it's pretty interesting!

1. Sliced Carrots:
They look like the human eye (complete with pupil, iris and radiating lines), and research shows carrots enhance blood flow and function of the eyes.

2. Tomatoes:
Like your heart, a tomato has four chambers and is red. Tomatoes contain lycopene, which is excellent for your heart.

3. Grapes:
A cluster of grapes is shaped like your heart, and each grape could be a blood cell. Science shows that grapes are nourishing for your heart and blood.

4. Walnuts:
These wrinkly nuts look like little brains, which makes sense considering walnuts help develop more than three dozen neurotransmitters for brain function, and are a rich source of brain-healthy omega-3 fats.

5. Kidney Beans:
Of course these look like your kidneys, and they contain nutrients that can help maintain and heal kidney function. Kidney beans are also an excellent source of the trace mineral, molybdenum. This mineral helps detoxify sulfites, a type of preservative added to many foods (and to which many people are sensitive), from the body.

6. Celery, Bok Choy and Rhubarb:
These and other rigged, ribbed veggies resemble your bones. They are also 23 percent sodium -- just like your bones -- which is important since your body will pull sodium from your bones if it doesn't get enough from your diet.

7. Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears:
Ever notice how these raw foods resemble a woman's womb and cervix? Well eating one avocado a week has been found to help balance hormones, prevent cervical cancer and help women shed birth weight. Ironically, it also takes nine months for an avocado to grow from blossom to ripened fruit.

8. Figs:
These fruits are full of seeds and hang in twos while growing. They're also known to increase the number and mobility of sperm and help overcome male infertility.

9. Sweet Potatoes:
These veggies look like your pancreas and help to stabilize your blood sugar levels and lower insulin resistance. They're even known as an "anti-diabetic" food.

10. Olives:
Shaped much like a woman's ovaries, olives actually support the function of the ovaries.

11. Oranges, Grapefruits and Other Citrus:
These resemble mammary glands, and the fruits assist the health of the breasts.

12. Onions:
These look like your body's cells, and science shows that onions help to remove waste materials from your body's cells.

STOP PROCRASTINATING!! - Get up & get going!

Pst Tan showed us this quote by Winston Churchill and it kinda hit me in the face..

"The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences." — Winston S. Churchill

How apt is this description! Many of us know the problems we see around us but how many actually moved out of our comfort zone to start doing something about them? Do we have to wait till the problems hit us in the face before we realize it's too late?

Time to get up and get going to do something!

Quotable Quotes - Barack Obama

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential. "

"We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don't want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential."

"I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody."

"I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

"Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference."

"We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old - and that's the criterion by which I'll be selecting my judges."

"We need to internalize this idea of excellence. Not many folks spend a lot of time trying to be excellent."

I wonder why the following quote is included in one of Barack Obama's quotable quotes but anyhow here it is...

"Why can't I just eat my waffle?"

10 Changes in Obama's Lifestyle - WOW..but hmmm...

1. Every time he turns in at night armed agents will be on guard just yards away outside his bedroom door. They are under strict instructions to storm in at the slightest suspicion that the first black American president — codename Renegade — is under threat.

2. Whenever he drives anywhere the £272,000- a-year president will travel with 13 identical cars — to confuse potential assassins.

3. The President’s real car — a brand new Cadillac One — has been built to be practically everything-proof. It also contains the red button to launch America’s nukes.

Obama also gets to fly in the £150million Presidential jet — Air Force One. Its luxuries include a treadmill, medical wing — and TWENTY 50in TVs.

4. Every time Obama has a drink outside the White House he must hand his glass to a Secret Service agent to be destroyed — so no-one gets hold of the presidential DNA.

5. His beloved Blackberry organiser will have to be ditched. Not only are emails a security risk, but from now on all his written correspondence is public record.

6. If he wants a haircut he can forget the £10 ones he has been having for 14 years at Zarrif’s in Chicago. Its windows are not bullet-proof.

7. He and his family can never dine out on a whim — since any trip to a restaurant must be planned with military precision. Even on their last jaunt to their favourite Italian eaterie in Chicago THIRTY bodyguards went with them.

8. The same goes for taking a jog. Keen runner Obama will have to seek security clearance hours in advance so agents can scout the route. He has already had to quit cycling around Washington. Obama has told pals he plans to build an indoor basketball court to help keep fit.

9. Obama will get a £150,000 budget to redecorate the White House — which already boasts 35 bathrooms so he will never be caught short. Some are ONLY accessible to the President.

10. Along with a £272k annual salary, Obama is allowed £34,000 for general expenses, £68,000 for travel and just over £13,000 for entertaining.
More than 100 domestic staff including chefs, dressers and a florist will be at his family’s beck and call.

Food for Thought - wooo..

Got these 2 revelations while listening to John Bevere this morning...

Love does not equal to being nice..
Love = walking in the commandments of God because God is love
"This is love, that we walk according to His commandments." 2 John 1:6

So...get ready for some truth if you really wanna be loved...=)

"The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." Ps 53:1

The above verse really refers to those who have known God but has decided in their hearts to walk in disobedience towards God.

Because atheist are really those who have said in their minds that there is no God but their hearts are actually still soft to God; when the time is right.

Piggy's Funeral Wake

Piggy's departure from us has gathered all the soft toys of RW to pay their respects at its 'open casket'..

Back to Work! - certainly tiring...

Waking up early has been a forgotten habit of mine over the last 2 weeks off from work...my eyes seemed to be set on auto-shut mode..the moment I opened my eyes, the eyelids will close again almost immediately...I repeat the motion countless times and finally got up, out of my bed...

I went for my morning jog! And observed some conversations among the 'grandmas' at the stadium, after their morning group exercise..

(In Hokkien)
Grandma 1: Wendy leh?
Grandma 2: She doesn't want to go, she has other plans..
Grandma 3: Huh? Thought we are going together..:(
Grandma 2: Nvm lah, we go ourselves loh...
(The group of grandmas walked away all dragging their marketing trolley..)

Thought it was quite interesting 'cos my idea of grandmas will be old & frail, always staying at home...but they are very much engaged in "fellowship" just like us! Their conversations sound so "young" and fully engaging life and relationships! =D

Their Young Love is Going Nowhere - hmmm...

Mika (right), Anna-Lena (centre) and her younger sister Anna-Bell were picked up by the police while waiting for a train to the airport. -- PHOTO: AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE

BERLIN: - Two childhood sweethearts - aged six and seven - from Hanover in northern Germany eloped on New Year's Day, and were determined to tie the knot under the African sun, police said yesterday.

The pair, identified as Mika and Anna-Lena, 'are very much in love, and decided to get married in Africa, where it is warm, taking with them as a witness Anna-Lena's younger sister, aged five', police spokesman Holger Jureczko said.

The idea for the romantic trip began when Mika told the two girls about his recent holiday in Italy as their families celebrated New Year's Eve together.
As the first dawn of 2009 broke, the trio started to put plans into action, packing essentials for the journey, including 'sunglasses, swimming trunks, a lilo, summer clothes and provisions'.

While their parents slept, they left their house in the suburbs of Hanover, walked a kilometre to a tram stop and took a tram to the central station.
While waiting for a train to the airport, they aroused the attention of a guard, who contacted the police.

Two officers managed to convince the young lovers they would struggle to get to Africa without money or a plane ticket.

As a consolation, the children were given a special tour of the police headquarters at Hanover, where they were especially taken with the detention cells.

Their relieved parents picked them up from the station, the spokesman said, and added: 'They can still put their plan into action at a later date.'
