I Am Blessed! - with beautiful angels...

The Value of a Friend

Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

I feel so encouraged whenever I visit my blog......NO! Oopz I did it again... - moments of silence

Yes I lost my phone again...yes the phone I got in China when I lost my phone there...and now it's gone again...haiz...do I really need to stick everything I am holding on to to my palm so that I won't misplace them again? hmmm...and I gotta reconnect both lines as it's a dual SIM phone with both my SIM inside! Haiz...I wonder who was the one who took it...no charger cos it's a China phone...prob can't even unlock the phone cos it's different from the usual way...well..

Anyway...for those following my blog...my life seems unusually negative for the past few blogs...BUT NO! =) It's just challenging and I still am very happy and believe that this is my year of breakthrough! Received many great teachings from Dr. Bernard over the past week on top of what Pst Tan shared with the leaders on Tue and what Pst Zhuang shared with us on Sunday... so it has really been a great week of ups and downs..and God is still the ever wonderful God! =)

And...my dearest, most wonderful-est sister & friend, Huijing, is still the great, great friend who's alwiz here for me...despite being physically in Poland...the moment she read my previous blog entry, she sms-ed me from Poland to encourage me and assure me..THANK YOU DEAR! LOVE YOU LOADS! =) Do JIAYOU too!!

I need some air... - breathe in / breathe out

Just when I thot the year had began well with me having a good hold of everything...things got really haywired...one thing after another, after another, after another... new projects, last min. appointments, one event after another, meetings upon meetings...I need some air....Writing this blog at the expense of my 2 minutes and dad's invoices to be done....but well...have a break, write a blog...

Meetings, retreats, camps, weddings, trainings, appointments,....one after another before I could find any time to sit down and do any of my work...

This must be part of my prayer of enlargement of capacity...really need God's grace to find my focus and be more effective...YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH!

Where would I be without You... - thank You Jesus...

I have never walked on water
Felt the waves beneath my feet
But at Your word Lord
I received Your faith
To walk on oceans deep

And I remember how You found me
In the very same place
All my failings
Surely would've drowned me
Still You made a way

You are my freedom
Jesus You're the reason
I'm kneeling again at Your throne
Where would I be without You
Here in my life
Here in my life
You have said that all the heavens
Sing for joy at one who finds
The way to freedom
Truth of Jesus
Bought from death into His life

And I remember how You saw me
Through the eyes of Your grace
And though the cost was
Your beloved for me
Still You made a way

Sung this song in 3 separate occasions this week...Chose it as the worship song for my CG; it was the 2nd worship during service; it was the worship song for WYZ planning / vision sharing session too! Really a great reminder of God's love and grace in my life...

"Where would I be without You"...
I was just sharing with my CG...just before I came to church, I was spending my everyday in the malls, shopping and hanging out, leading my aimless life...every time I get scolded by my family, I'll have thoughts like "Probably without me in this world, my family would be a much happier family, the world will be a better place.."

Today, I have the privilege to be the leader of 20+ lovely youths, seeing them grow to become a better person and finding meaning for their lives is my greatest satisfaction...Even in my family, Dad, brothers & sister-in-law...though I am at least 8 years younger than anyone of them...we can share our life challenges with each other and have fruitful conversations each time we meet...

God..thank You for Your love and grace upon me...bringing me to where I am today...I am just so thankful. =)

Beautiful Night - peaceful; calm

Sitting by the sofa.
Soft lights.
No music.
No TV.
Sounds of the traffic outside.
Enjoying the quietness of the night.

I supposed I kinda over-talked, over-jumped, over-laughed, over-danced, over-worked, over-...

Just needed some rest tonight. =)

Thank You God for this beautiful night.

You are deserving
Of all the praises Lord
My heart is yearning
To be in Your presence once more
Deep inside my heart is burning
I want to give You more
And You're the only One That I adore
How great You are (x2)
You are the mighty King
And You've come to reign in me
How great You are (x2)
I give You all the praises of my heart

God is Moving... - presence of God falls

Calvin Choo sent me a link to Oprah's Gospel Brunch with the Legends on YouTube...http://youtube.com/watch?v=HHZKffz6FFI

You can watch it on Edwin's blog too!
There you see and hear how God is moving through the hearts and voices of the Legends in the entertainment industry...I was very touched when I watched it...

2008 - Focus & Work Hard! - 加油!がんばって!All the way!

"A good beginning makes a good end."
"Seize the day, put no trust in tomorrow." - Horace

Have been working, working, working, working, working hard since I came back from KL. Thank God for the good break that energized me for the start of the year. And especially after I read the book on "Procrastination"..I am really trying to prioritise my time and do first things first! I thought it has a very good illustration on "Procrastination" which hit the bull's eye on how I behaved.

The author talks about how he used to procrastinate and leave important things to be done at the very last minute while he keeps himself really busy doing the unimportant but "right things" like tidying up his table, compiling his bills, etc. He likened this to someone getting really busy doing things all around the room while the most important thing is actually left undone right in the middle of the room.

"But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters." - 1 Peter 4:15

To procrastinate is like being a busybody. Getting real busy doing things but not the things dedicated to fulfill your purpose, hence not producing the fruit that God requires.

Can you imagine? The bible places a "busybody" (a.k.a "procrastinator") at the same level as "murderer", "thief" and "evildoer"! Now you know why I have been working harder this year...

Wedding Bell Rings... - Love is in the air...

My bank account shouts... - ouch... *laughs*

Just kidding...just AMAZED at the number of friends I have getting married right at the start of 2008!

13 Jan - Jelaine & Zi Wei
27 Jan - Nick & Cheryl
28 Jan - Huixin & Ranger
2 Feb - Swee Kwang & Hwee Tuan
16 Feb - Yilun & Eugene

And half of them are of my age...gosh...God help me...hahaa....

To my members who never fail to ask me, "When is it your turn?" every single time I tell them I am going for a wedding / I got a wedding invitation / mention anything about wedding (as you can imagine...that's like almost once or twice every week...!!!)...please refer to the following answer - I DON'T KNOW... I think this will help save our time asking / answering and alwiz returning to the same point. HAHAHA...

Oh btw...I went to a really cool, awesome, impressive, creative, out-of-the-box, cutting-edge wedding yesterday!! None other than Zi Wei & Jelaine's wedding!! Why do I say so? Judge for yourself:

  • Matrimony + Solemnization + Dinner all-in-one!
  • 1/2 the restaurant to the right was transformed into a mini hall for the wedding matrimony right at the start.
  • Holy communion as taken at where the unity candle is to be lit. (saves all the inconvenience of the bride kneeling down and standing up...)
  • Guests can 'pen' their well-wishes for the couple via the 3 LAPTOP stations outside the hall while it is being turned over for the dinner.
  • Guests are then given an option as to whether they would like to take a photo to be attached to the greeting.
  • The greetings & photos were then compiled into a slideshow of the e-guestbook flashed throughout the dinner.
  • Stage was being moved from the extreme right into the middle of the whole restaurant.
  • Guests from stage right were then served with Chinese dinner while guests from stage left were treated with free-style buffet consisting of Japanese, Western & Chinese cuisine.
  • Dessert was served in middle of the restaurant for all guests and include specially catered ones from Obolo.. Nicey nice!

What a cutting-edge, creative wedding I thought! Wedding of 2 wedding coordinators...different indeed. ;p

Setting off from the Haven… - smilez

The bus from KL to Singapore has set off…I am leaving my haven for 4 days…this trip has indeed been satisfying to my spirit, soul and body…done my spa, shopping, food treats, catching up with KL friends, received my Word for the year, set my goals for the year, visited DUMC and CHC-KL,….I think I fulfilled all the desires I have for the trip…

Thank you Pst Eng Eng for having us in your place…your house must be the most cosy place I know of…thanks for giving us the go-ahead to make ourselves at home to help ourselves to your fridge, your drinks, your Power Rider, your everything at home…feels like a home away from home…

Thank you Malvin…understand that you have a really busy schedule right at the beginning of the year yet you will always make all arrangements to pick us up and send us to wherever we want to go as much as you can. Thanks for bringing us to all the nice eating places…I will remember the Roti Hawaii (which didn’t have any dancers popping out of it)…the seafood at Pangkor where I literally race you to foot the bill (and the cashier actually sided with you not taking the money which I placed right in front of him….how unfair…)…of course the super nice eating place with Hawaii setting…we enjoyed all the food there!! Finally the Village Park Nasi Lemak…BAGUS!! =) Many, many thanks!

Thanks Melissa for your company at Sungai Wang…for all the advice on getting Pst’s gift…bringing us to DUMC and the guided tour around Dream Centre…we will remember that You’re beautiful… ;)

Thank you my dear travel buddies, Yuzhen & Irene..thanks for accommodating with my ‘loner’ actions…haha…you must have thought I was weird alwiz the odd one out but thanks for bearing with me!! Haha…I just wanted more solitude in this trip…

Alright..time for me to catch some sleep (once again)! Will be back in action in office in 9 hours time! Nitez…

Last Night in KL - mixed feelings...

It's the last night here in KL for my trip...or I shld say last morning since it's already 5am... haha.. all's asleep except the myself and the housefly... (have to mention the housefly as it was pretty stuck to my laptop screen a few minutes ago...my laptop being the only litted thing around the room...so stuck I used my bottle to hit it off it din even fly.....) As I mentioned in my title, having mixed feelings..on one hand feeling excited and ready to embark on my 2008 back in Singapore, yet sad to leave the comfort of this place...

Thank God for this trip to KL..my haven...safe and sheltered for my 3 days of solitude...

I enjoy tucking myself to bed listening to my fave worship songs.. falling asleep without having dreams after dreams..all the way till morning..waking up not by the sound of the alarm, nor my handphone...feeling totally recharged and refreshed.

I enjoyed the deep sea full body scrub + full body aromatherapy massage + steam bath + eye pillow treatment...the spa package named as ROYAL INDULGENCE...indeed...It's so relaxing and satisfying...

I enjoy the 20-min workout on the Power Rider listening to Pst Phil's podcast...feels good to sweat-it-out...especially after the snacks after meals after snacks after meals after snacks after....oh where am I? Yap...you know what I mean...haha... Will put up on my Picasa ALL the photos of our FOOD ENCOUNTERS when I'm back...

I enjoyed the service at Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) today...they just shifted into their new building few months back..they called their building "Dream Centre - where dreams come alive"...This place is AWESOME...I pray that CHC can have our land to build our iconic building soon!! Anyway..what impacted me most was the simplicity of the church congregation yet their love for God can be felt so tangibly. Hearing their life stories is really amazing and it reminds me of how every child of God having the same childlike faith God mentioned in the Bible, can become a channel of God's miracles. As I worshipped in the church, the presence of God just came upon me so strongly. (And that is why I am still awake at this hour too...I spent a wonderful time worshipping and receiving from God after my visit to the church..) Indeed like what Matt 5:8 says, "the pure in heart shall see God"... GOD IS SO BEAUTIFUL...SO WONDERFUL...I LOVE GOD, LOVE GOD, LOVE GOD for His love for me.. =)

I think I better get some rest before I need to wake up for CHC-KL svc starting in 4 hours time!! ;)

Getaway… - relaxed; satisfying

It’s been so long since I last get a ‘breather’ from the buzz of my everyday…

- Just listening to beautiful songs playing on my mp3 as the coach travels down the highway lined with trees and other greenery reading my book…

- Enjoying the quietness of the morning when all I can hear is the sound from the spinning of the ceiling fan and worship songs I left playing on my laptop

Pst Eng Eng’s house is furbished like a small cottage house though it’s in between a row of many other terrace houses. I feel so warm and cosy staying here. Not mentioning the extreme hospitality of Mr. Malvin Ong Kim Seng…

- The moment we sat in the car, “Pls help yourselves to the mineral water on the back seat, sorry I didn’t have enough time to get coffee for you all.”

- As we approach the car after meal, he quickened his steps to open the 3 doors leading to our seats and stood there to wait for us to get in. After which he closed the 2 he could reach.

- He had already negotiated a good 40% off our spa & massage packages even before we arrived.

- After assuring and double assuring him that we can make our way to the spa on our own, he finally agreed not coming to pick us up before his presentation. His reply, “Ok, then let me draw you the map to the place from here.”

Yah…that’s to the first day of our trip..=)

Haven't updated my blog for years...I mean months..actually weeks..hee...and what finally made me sit down and blog? The LONG bus trip to KL! Hee...pretty excited and looking forward cos I have mentioned about this R&R KL trip since...erm...CNY period last year? ;p
