Lunch @ Pepper Lunch

I was on my way back from teaching to give BS at my place. On my way back, I was still thinking of how I can save money on food by eating instant noodles and some canned food. While walking towards the travelator at Dhoby Ghaut, someone called my name. Doreen!! After chit-chatting, I decided to accompany her for a short while since I have some time to spare. She wanted to eat lunch at Pepper Lunch so we went ahead. I thought I would just get a drink just to save money. But when she asked me what I'd like to have, I asked, "Your treat ah?" And to my surprise, she replied, "Yah lah!" WOW!!! Of course I can take anything! All the food looks so yum-yum!!

Half an hour later after our lunch, I found myself back on the journey to the travelator. Wow God! You intercepted my path, just to bring Doreen to treat me to a nicey-nice lunch! THANK YOU!! God really has His way of reassuring me of His providence, that He is able to provide above what we asked for! I was just thinking of instant noodles and there He was preparing me for a meal at Pepper Lunch. God is so AWESOME!!

God is my COVENANT PARTNER!

This shall be the start of my testimonies postings...

Last week we learnt about God being our covenant Partner. In a covenant, everything is shared equally between both parties --> whatever God has, He will share it with me!!
On Thu, I was on a non-aircon bus to my workplace...feeling really sleepy...however the bus kept stopping at traffic lights causing my sleep to be very disrupted...

Feeling really tired...I asked God, "God, we are in a covenant ya? Whatever is in Your ability, I have a share in it ya? Can You move this bus smoothly so that I can have a good sleep?" Without thinking much, I was laughing at myself for the rather childish prayer I made...

Then, I realized...in the next few minutes...the bus was really moving very smoothly...I took a peep with my half-opened eyes..all the traffic lights were green, all the bus stops were empty!! The bus was driving in a housing estate somemore!! It must really be God!!

I had such a good rest on the bus all the way to my workplace. Thank God!!

I am in a covenant with God! And if nothing is too difficult for God, my covenant Partner, nothing is too difficult for me!!

Birthday Presents Continued...

I shall add on to my list of presents 'cos I just received a gift few days ago!! From my Taiwanese friend Qingfang who thought my birthday was 8th Nov...hee...She bought me this pair of really huge heart-shaped earrings! But it's really lovely...wore it twice already...=) And in her card...she reminded me of our date in Jerusalem next year! See you Qing Fang!!

Eunice's Present Part 2
Of course dear Eunice did give me a continuation of her pre-bday gift...a very beautiful pair of eyelashes from 'xotic'! But well...given my less-than-beginner's knowledge in putting on eyelashes...I think I need a lot of coaching from her!! So till then...Cindy with beautiful eyes on the way!!

Princess Diana...
My dear princess in SOT bought me a pair of elegant earrings for my birthday!! Love them...and more importantly...love my dear princess Diana too! Thank God for our friendship!

Hmm..think I shouldn't have missed out any...blessings have so overflowed in my life I'm starting to lose count! THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING! =)

My 23rd Birthday…

3rd October (Tue)
First gift from my korkor
I received my FIRST gift for my 23rd birthday today!! Roy gave me a wallet from ‘Rip Curl’! He says he might not be able to pass to me on my birthday so better to give earlier…=)

4th October (Wed)
“Pre-birthday gift”
Eunice gave me a liquid eyeliner from MAC!! She said it’s a pre-birthday gift leading to my birthday gift. Diana wanted to take a look at it & realized it’s an empty box!! Hmmm…either Eunice is really blur or she really gave me the box as a pre-birthday gift and the actual on my birthday…AND….wonderful MAC ‘sold’ her an empty box……and she had to go exchange it for me…=)

5th October (Thu)
Gift from Bro Eggie
Yesterday…my dear bro Eggie Donny Elisha Tan said he wanna go shop for my gift and he called me to ask if I wear Topshop clothes..After buying, he can’t contain his excitement and really wanted to gimme my present today…wanted to see how is his taste like…then… “I really dunno what you’d like!!” Haha…he gave me a $40 gift card!!!! Yeah!! I can go shop during SALE!!

6th October (Fri)
Celebration with my SOT Team 15!
This is what they started with…A blueberry BREAD with an unlit candle… “Sorry Cindy, couldn’t find a lighter..” I was a little disappointed but it’s ok…After singing the birthday songs, they asked me to make a long wish…when I opened my eyes…WOW!! A BEAUTIFUL cake with a LIGHTED candle!! (Did I wish for a birthday cake? Ha..) They gave me my gift…Opened it up…a shoebox…felt like there are bottles inside…WOW!! It’s 2 bottles of mineral water & 3 packs of gummy bears!! *faint* “Cindy you know…Arise & Build..then we are a bit tight…”
“Yah…I understand..BUT I EXPECT something better!” Haha…
So a second gift…I opened it up…Honey Stars Box!!!! Hmm..are they really so tight financially? Haha…I put the box aside…& all of them quickly asked me to open…FINALLY a cool & funky top! And..a very nice card from TKM designs…

Celebration with N248 & N338
Was talking to Hock Peng when suddenly the lights went off and the only thing I can see was the birthday cake & they started singing the birthday songs…N338 first presented me with their birthday card…13 balloons with “H-A-P-P-Y B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y” written on them. They asked me to burst one of it and out came a nicely scrolled up coloured paper…Each of the balloons contain a note from each of them…

Cindy..refusing to let N248 be outdone..gave me a notebook with a very nicely-sewn “C-I-N-D-Y”on the cover & many pics of my faces with different expressions taken over the years. Also a CD with many, many birthday wishes & thanksgiving speech from the members…Including a few of my dear CGL friends! Terence, Irene, Huiling, Benny, Jieying (Cousin), Cynthia (Agogo Sis), Xuemin, Sabrina & my dear sister Karen!! So touching…especially the NGs…haha!! They are so Swee..eeeeT!

Both CGs bought me a very big ‘NewUrbanMale’ bag…I requested for a big bag to put all my barang barangs..hee…and a pair of shoes!! Yeah! New shoes!! Then some of the members gave me their individual gifts...Eileen gave me a very nice heart-shaped pillow with a ‘cross’ hp accessory; Angeline gave me a cute pony soft toy and a handmade door deco; Angela gave me a ‘Precious Moments’ cup & Standen gave me a ‘Parker’ pen! Eric couldn’t make it but asked Weiguo to pass me this box of chocs from Russia. Each choc has a pic. of a place in Russia! How cool!! And I realized I have 2 cakes!!!! Weiguo said he dropped the 1st Tiramisu cake they bought for me so he bought another mocha one for me.. Actually the Tiramisu cake is very much intact but…THANK YOU!! And I had 7/8 of the Tiramisu cake left at my place…=P

7th October (Sat)
Dinner with Yilun & Roy
Roy treated us to Genki sushi!!! Yilun was fasting till 6pm so poor her had to look at us eat the softshell crab handroll, tempura sushi, taco balls…but at 6pm she could join us!!! We still had the dynamite roll, gigantic teriyaki chicken kebab..really big…Then Yilun treated us to desserts at Azabu Sabo…VERY NICE!!!! The honey they give for the dessert…YUMMY!! Yilun gave me a really nice Korean-style skirt & necklace as presents!! But…still figuring out how to wear the skirt cos…very short!! Ha…

Celebration with subzone
We were having our Halloween Carnival meeting…then once again..lights off and in came a cake! They bought me a very very nice Swatch watch!! Bee says its one of the new edition ones… Cool! So happy to have even Ariel (cos she has been really busy with work) in our subzone pic!!! =)

8th October (Sun)
Gifts & gifts!!
I FEEL SO LOVED!!!
After svc…my phone kept ringing with people asking me where I am…Sabrina gave me a birthday card before I left the front…then right after I debriefed the CG, my ex-members Ronald and Wah Ju came with a GIGANTIC paper bag. They bought me a bag from MU, together with Joanna and Desmond. So sweet of them! Really touched…Also a very, very beautiful & artistic card hand-made by Wah Ju with greetings from my ex-members…

Then went to meet Daniel (from SOT). Was chatting with him on MSN last night when it past 12am and I asked him to wish me ‘Happy Birthday’…Haha…it was then that he knew it was my birthday! And he gave me a CD with a ‘Happy Birthday’ song & ‘Amazing Grace / Happy Birthday’ medley played by him on piano. (It is still playing at the background since I listened to it last night till now) It’s SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! THANK YOU!!

Went to Foyer 3 to meet my dear “Ke Ren Jie Jie” (Karen). She got me a pair of very beautiful earrings from Perlini’s Silver! So nice!

On my way back, met up with Tommy, Doreen’s member, when he tried calling me, I kept telling him where the poly meeting is, actually he wanted to pass me his gift! Haha! He gave me a box of God’s Promises!!!! I love it! Especially when it’s a surprise gift ‘cos I barely talk to him before! Hmmm…=)

Flowers from my members!
Went to fellowship with my members after all that. Airport T1 Popeyes. After we ate, they surprised me with a nice-wrapped Sunflower!! Didn’t think they will celebrate for me again..So SWEET of them!! Shinfen & Angela went to buy it. The members were still telling me Shinfen had diarrhoea…………No wonder they don’t look very concerned when telling me that she had diarrhoea..just happily continued to go and eat…ha.. And they were trying to hide it from me…ha…shan’t elaborate on that. They actually ask me which of the flowers I like in the bouquet…er..I think it’s the Baby’s Breath…Of course the sunflower!!!! =)

Dessert with my dear dear friend Huizi
We went to Swensen’s at T2 to redeem by Firehouse Happy Birthday!!!! Also also treated me to fries & fried mushrooms…YUMMY!! (‘cos I just had lunch and am heading for dinner..ha..) Had a good time fellowshipping with her but I think we both had a better time falling asleep on the bus from airport to our homes. She specially reminded me to read the card she gave me and I didn’t really understand why. When I opened it at night, she BLESSED ME WITH $150!!! She said after going through the gift options, she decided to give me the most practical. So touched!!! I saw 1, no 2, no 3 $50 notes!! I was shocked! THANK YOU SO MUCH MY DEAR FREN!! It IS really the most practical…I was left with 5 bucks before that..haha..I really like what is written on the card…shall quote it here…

Dinner with my family
Nothing beats celebrating with family…
Eldest brother (Gary), Sis-in-law (Cindy), Kermeu, Kerwin, elder brother (Adam) with Anson, grandma & my dearest dad! Had a SUMPTUOUS dinner with crabs, steamed fish, chicken wings……..YUM YUM!! Dad gave me an angbao & Adam korkor bought me a new digital camera for my present!!! Fujifilm A500!! YEAH!! FINALLY MY OWN CAMERA!! And Gary korkor bought me the xD memory card! Ha…took lotsa photos with my new camera…(photos for my presents are courtesy of this camera too!) Had a good chat with my sis-in-law too! Had lots of fun..

Surprise from my member & ex-members!
I thought the dinner with my family marks the end of all celebration. Then I heard Jasper’s voice at the door. I guessed they were here to celebrate my birthday. I asked if anyone else was with him. He looked really serious and asked if he could come in and talk to me. When I opened the door, Weilin, Joy, Ronald, Clara, Ivan followed behind with a cake!!! Wow!!! So touched!!!! Clara & Jasper bought me the book God’s Generals for my gift. It’s really what I’ve always wanted!!! WOW! We had a great time of fellowship in my room with me ‘showing-off’ to them my presents (they asked to see it, really not me!!).

Not forgetting…
Also the many, many, many SMS-es from all my friends, almost every hour from 12am…they are all so sweet I just had to store them…and call from Kelvin Tan right at 12am of my birthday, also from my dear Kevin kor & Bosco,…e-Greetings from my ex-leader Nicole & Kelvin Guo…
