EEP

I'm full.
I look downwards and the first thing that greets me is my tummy.

In the last 4 hours, I had a plate of rice, chicken, veg and curry from the Muslim stall in BIZAD for lunch.
Then I had a slice of pizza, cause Corp Finance had a make-up lecture this morning and to entice students to come back on a SATURDAY MORNING AT 9AM (which is against the laws in certain countries), the lecturer kindly sponsored a pizza lunch.

Then I had one samosa (triangle-shaped curry potato puff), one mini chocolate eclair and one juicy fried chicken drumlet. Haha, no I'm not trying to be random here. Jamie's teacher also catered some food for her make-up class, and he kindly brought some back.

And then I had a Char Siew Bou Lou Bao from Crystal Jade Kitchen, complimentary of the day out yesterday in Suntec.

All in all, that's like 2 lunches and 2 teas?
Way full. And way not cool.

So, altogether now... "OMG - I'm FATTTT!!!"

WAKE UP.

I don't play sports well.
I'm not doing too well in school nowadays.
I have one lousy lecturer and I think it's him that's causing me to not do well in his module.
My time in the day is limited.
I don't get enough sleep.

I've been a whiny little girl lately.
In fact, I've been one the whole sem.
So whiny, it's disgusting.

Where did the entire semester go?
I look at my red planner everyday and all i think about is
My deadlines due tomorrow.
The meetings to prepare for tomorrow.
And then once in a while I look at my handwriting above the printed days and it reads Week 9.
Week 10.
Uh oh.

The to "be on top of everything" notion is so exciting and cool.
To finish your part of the project days way before the deadline.
To be one of the first to upload the graded assignment on the IVLE instead of being one of the last.
To finish studying for your test a day or two before the actual date, so there's no burning the midnight oil the night before.

When you think about it, all these are not that difficult to accomplish.
A project mate of mine is somewhat like this -
She types out her parts after our meetings and sends it out the same night itself, always being the first one to finish her workload.
No-life, not happening, no hall activities?
No, just plain hard-working and it's blardy impressive.
I wanna be like that too.
Just not right now - cause there's work due tomorrow to finish up.

Some people don't see it this way though.
As long as it meets the deadline, what's the rush?
Chilll out la - there's always time the night before to pia.
I've always avoided this mentality like a plague.
Siao ah, don't sleep. Why never do earlier.
Look who's laughing now.

BUCK UP.
Before your CAP goes down the drain and you sit on the edge of your bed in a daze, knowing full well it was your own fault that you never spent more effort and time on your schoolwork, and that there's no turning back the semester clock to resit for the same modules.

WAKE UP.
Before time consume you in pieces, leaving you to drown in your own rush of panic and worry.

GET UP.
Cause your life's for you to run and if you don't run it well, there's no one there to clean the mess up, mend back the pieces and present it sparkling new back to you on a silver platter.

Thanks, you, for hearing me out, for being my punching bag, for being my cushion of comfort, for being my solid rock of defense, for being my conscience at times, for being my alarm clock, for being there to hold my hand when we cross the roads, for going out with me to Ginza when I desperately needed one honey green tea with double pearls less ice, a plate of chicken rice AND a big bowl of yong tau fu stuff all for myself because I was weak from hunger and fatigue after 7.30am-11.30am volleyball training.

WE CHINESE LOCKS!

The Departed is out.
A policeman is a mole in the mafia and a gangster is a mole in the police force.
Oooh how exciting.
How familiar.
How passe *covers mouth and yawns daintily*.

HAH!
And to think we used to be just short people with tiny eyes, pigtails and straw hats, who go about noisily in our chinese language "ting-ting-clong-clong" and who run about on our clogs with sparklers in our hands in your blue eyes.
You smug Hollywoodians copy Chinese movies!

Haha can't wait to see if they reproduce an English version of Crouching Tiger.
Imagine Florida Bloom in a Chink getup with a lone pigtail the length of his back flying across the screen, brandishing a sword.
Hurhur.

Bloomberg
Visited their office on Church Street today and their pantry is fantastic!
Apparently Bloomberg everywhere in the world has this open-concept.
There are no cubicles and no individual rooms for managers.
Imagine that!
The CEO of Bloomberg Singapore has his own desk just like any other staff!
So there are just rows of tables faced back-to-back with one another.
And all the staff have 2-3 LCD screens on multi-display, where their cursors can easily move from one screen to another with a flick of the mouse.

Back to their pantry.
It's this open area with 7-11 size clear refridgerators with drinks and a long counter which has a toaster, coffee machineS, microwave-oven and all the beverage condiments you can find in a supermarket. 3 in 1 Milos, Nestum Oats, Coffee, Tea, Chinese Tea, Green Tea, many many other different kinds of tea, sugar, milk etc.
In the fridges, there are cans of Milo and coffee, different types and flavours of milk (Meiji, Marigold etc), vitagen, fruit juices, bottles of mineral water etc.
Then there's this food section with sections for a variety of sweets and little chocolates, shelves of cup noodles (CUP NOODLES!), granola bars, biscuits etc and bowls of fruits on the long funky counters with high chairs where staff can eat their meals.

ALL THE ABOVE FREE FOR THEIR STAFF ANYTIME!

Tell me, isn't that cool.
I want.

Sherrie Ng, please dl James Morrison's "You Give Me Something" and email it to me?
Thanks in advance.
See you real soon!

MY FAVOURITE MEAL IN BIZAD

At least for now.

Warm saffron flavoured basmati rice with yellow potatoes cubes and hunks of boneless chicken cooked with cracked peppercorns and exotic spices, served with an Indian-styled cucumber and onion salad and a small helping of a spicy chicken-based curry sauce.

In other words, briyani with potatoes and pepper chicken, with some curry please, uncle.

Yes i know it sounds like a whole lotta carbo.
YUM.

It's the best combination, like,
ever.

Hmm actually.. I'm wondering if it will taste even better with fragrant white rice.
In other words, plain white rice.
You know, no saff-whatever-frons to mask and overpower the delightful taste of my yellow potato cubes and hunks of boneless chicken which is all lovely and peppery and spicy.

Hahhahahaha.
I blogread too much.
And am starting to watch youtube quite often.

Can't believe I typed that address.
And sat and waited expectantly for the site to load.
And stared puzzledly at the screen when it said Blogger page not found.

Haha, Well done.
