KR RAG 2006

Wahahaha, better late than never?
The magnificent Kronos, which together with KR's impressive Flag Collection, swept 8-9 awards up for grabs on the NUS Annual Rag and Flag Day.
Peektures!

Presenting, KRONOS.
The time-travelling train.

KR's freakingly intimidating support in a sea of blue.
Each faculty and hall of residence came with what.. a coupla flags each at most?
KR had like 6.
And 200 pairs of plastic clappers.
From the picture below, actually Raffles Hall was standing "behind us" ie nearer the buildings in the yonder. And Engineering Faculty just beside us. Cannot tell yah.

Every float's given 1 minute (yes, i think) to get their lorry in the middle of the presentation area, layout the canvas in front for the dancers, and wheel in EVERYTHING you wanna present, such as static displays. On the 59th second, all the Rag helpers run behind the float to hide. And run out again after the 5 minutes of presentation to wheel everything out of the presentation area.

Everyone waiting in anticipation for the float to begin.
The Rag helpers (in blue) have unrolled the canvas and put everything in their exact specific locations.

The futuristic aristocrats (in white) and punks (in black).
The dance begins with the aristocrats and the mechanics at the train station.
Then a group of punks storm in, blast their music and claim their "chill-out" territory at the station.

A train from the past arrives with 2 passengers a lady, a gentleman, and a train conductor.
The punks look at the train in confusion.

The very suave Cheong Chye as the visitor from the 1800s and the graceful Emily as the lady in red.
They dance with the futuristic aristocrats in the train station (with luggage and all)

The mechanics help fix the train, so it can go back in time.
The cheerleading-like section of the dance, which stunts were THE most impressive out of all the other "cheerleading" stunts by the other hall and faculty dances.
KR had the most stunts, the highest pyramid (3 tier-standing), and the most dangerous-looking throws.
Apparently, one of the mechanics couldn't reach for something, so her fellow mechanics help lift her.

Almost the ending, when the train's ready to return back in time.
The punks present their radio, the aristocrats a suitcase, and the mechanics a huge tool to the two strange-looking people from the past as farewell gifts.

The mechanics did wonders to the train - not only is the train operational,
it can fly (travel) through space and time.
(Designer Inspiration - ET)
(Engineering, structure and mechanical feat - the whole body of the train collapsed and slided effortlessly under itself, and the wings unfolded and flapped)

YEE-OOUUCH!

I injured my ankle during Road Race yesterday AGAIN.
The same one I injured two weeks ago during the soccer carnival.
See lah, this is what you get when you promise yourself that you'll wear your ankle guard everytime you play sports, but don't when you don't see it in sight before the run.
Karma comes and bites you back in the ass.
Another reason why making empty promises is bad.
YOU MADE THE PROMISE FOR A REASON!

Ahhh sigh.
The "click" sound my ankle makes when it slips sideways in my shoes
The sharp sharp pain shooting through my ankle bones
The "shit, not again" thought in my little mind
The "ouch, that's starting to hurt, maybe I should take a seat" instinct
The kind "Are you okays?"
The removing of my shoes
The checking of my ankleguardless ankles
The numbing cold when the ankle is iced for 10 mins
The excruciatingly painful limp back to my room
The visit to the sinseh
The smell of the herbal paste that wafts through the netted bandage
The need to protect my bandaged ankle with a plastic bag when I shower
The slow painful limps to classes and back, supported by the boy

It used to be once every year.
Then in Singapore, once every heavy sporting season (FWOC/IBG and IHG)
Now, twice in one IBG?

This cycle is happening way too often for my liking.

But I won't give up playing soccer.
and frisbee.
and volleyball.
Are you mad?

ANGEL AND MORTAL

Mmmm spent half of the evening preparing for tonight's (Thursday) supper for the reveal of the Angel and Mortal game. Just like last year, I have a talk-cock mortal once again. I think it's a good thing.. you get more than one-word replies.

Got the Best Angel award!
Hahhaha.. it was the two consecutive suppers - pratas from Ali's and Macs.
Not that i totally deserved full claim and praise.
The Ali's prata was actually bought by Mr Potato,
and the Macs meal was ordered in by Farhana.

Thanks senior girls angels for coming down to cook!
Mmmm curry chicken with potatoes, tuna potato salad, oriental fried rice, sausage skewers with pineapple and cucumber cubes, choc and vanilla mud pie, and prawn salad and tuna sandwiches from the guys.
Cooking supper's fun.
I don't know how some people can just go for supper, eat and then slink back to their rooms.
Without helping to cook.

Without helping to clean up.
SHAME ON YOU.
May you choke on the sausages.

Sher Ning and his mother cooked. A. lot.
Enough to feed an army.
Syok.

Speaking of which..
I miss my mother.

Hi Mums.
Hope everything's going well at work.
Will come back soon, I hope.

BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT

Ahhhhhhh no time to blog about Dnd properly!
And i know the rate I'm blogging at is horrendous.
I'm amazed at how some hallmates manage to blog during the week.

Sho tired everytime the clock marks the arrival of a new day in the middle of the night, but ironically that's when I start doing my homework, projects and assignments.
No time to sleeeep, breathe and do work!!
But surprisingly enough time in the day to go down for IBG, to go out to buy Supper ingredients, to be involved in block and hall activities, to attend block meetings, to blog-hop and to eat suppers.
Hurhur.

Anyhows, Dnd was last Friday at Orchid country Club.
No surprises what my table went as.
Congrats to Lord of the Rings for winning the Most Creative Table award!
And to Toy Story for Being Best Dressed!

The week leading onto DnD night was scary shits.
Had vball trainings to practise for Saturday's carnival.
Had to go to town to shop for costume materials.
Had a 6-chapter CF assignment due to be discussed on Thursday.
If only I had started studying 4 weeks ago when school started.

All in all, probably clocked in an average of 4 hours for 4 consecutive nights, from Monday to Friday.
Could just feel the fatigue seep into my brain at 4am in the morning, and the strain on the back between my shoulders.
AHHHHH.

Probably one of my worst cycles, ever.
Wouldn't do it again, ever.
Haha, yeah right, I stay in hall.

B Block girls won VBall in the end though!
Woohoo, after 3 long years of dreaming.
Thanks to Van-dan-man, and Ivy our Malaysian state player, Mala and all the other girls and to all the supporters! We did it!

Have also been gorging on suppers like there's no tomorrow.
Chicken burgers, rice, spagetthi etc.
Bad.
Fat.
Tired.
Not a good combination, when I haven't been playing and training IBG due to the ankle.
Help!

Mid-terms coming up next week.
Give me the discipline and willpower to drop everything else to study!

Me and Mr PoTAto!
kkeeekeekeeekekeeeekeeekekeke.
