SOUNDS GOOD

Installing Love Tech Support: Yes, ... How can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running ?

Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem,! Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off ?

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this a! s many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the ba! se program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?

Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make s! ure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

IN LOVE WITH TWO MEN AT THE SAME TIME.

Mmm =D
Worth the wait.
If I could custom make my own tub of Ben & Jerry's, it would be:

Chocolate Ice-cream with
Chocolate-chip cookie dough
Chunks of chocolate fudge brownies
Chunks of peanut butter cups
Fudge-covered walnuts

What would yours be like?

Hmm, wanted to post a picture of the poster for tomorrow's South East Asian Food Fest but I can't seem to find it. It's basically Club Singapore, Malaysian Students at Penn and Club Thailand collaborating and presenting (selling) 25 different types of food. Amongst them nasi lemak, curry chicken, rendang, bahkutteh, laksa mmm. It hardly sounds foreign to you, but it sounds great to me! Can't wait to eat dinner tomorrow =D Will be helping them to serve till it's time to watch "Take the Lead" with Antonio Banderas at The Bridge, which hopefully will be about a hundred times better than today's sampah.

REFRAIN

Stop watching, there's a test to study for.
I promise to reward you with as many episodes as you want tomorrow.
You're already going to watch American Dreamz tomorrow at the Bridge!
*The Bridge: Nice cinema on campus - on 40th street.

On a brighter note, ate dinner at Wendy's place and the 5 NOC-ians.
Beats eating food truck meals all by my lonesome self.
One exam down yesterday, another one tomorrow
and then it's off Chicago for the weekend on Friday! =D
Chicago the city!

So I heard Dance Night was great!
Congrats to all the lovely KR Dancers.
Ahh.. to seek, strive and excel.

MOULIN ROUGE

I know it's a bit late watching this for the first time now.
Better late than never, no? The soundtrack rawks.
Wanted to find a nicer picture that the above about the movie, a picture that would perfectly exhibit the glitz and the sparkly-ness of Moulin Rouge, but I realized that this faded-looking one does just that and more.

The show's not just about garters, diamonds and ugly mustaches.
It's about the dancing. singing. acting.
It's about truth. freedom. err.. one more thing. and love.
And it's about sleeping in a gaudy giant elephant(?!).

hahha.

I'm 1 hour and 13 minutes into the show now and I'm contemplating if I should finish it now or finish it tomorrow.
If I finish it now, Satine (sexy name la) will die and I will be sad.
If I finish it tomorrow, Satine will die and I will be sad.
Sigh, the choices we have to make in life.

Forbidden love haih.
Love stories haihhhhh.
Like this one. Like Sepet. Those with unhappy endings.
It's so bad for health to watch em cause they die and you get sad.
Or i do anyways.
I think Hollywood should have came up with some sort of agreement before the age of movie-making. Something like..

"Okay, horror and thriller, you guys can have dead people in your show. But YOU guys, the luuuurve guys. You guys can have occasional conflicts but always always never-ending love.. in the end (no pun intended). "
But because stephanie ng looks nothing like Elizabeth Hurley has no wealth like Queen Elizabeth, the dream on top is in the end, just a dream. The horror shows will be the ones never-ending (Ring One, Ring Two.. Ring 100) and we will continue to see dead people in love shows (Moulin Rouge, A walk to remember). I know. I know I'm exagerating. let me, can.

Happiness. Peace. Love conquers all. or so I have heard.

If I could have one wish for everybody in the world, it would be love.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and to be loved in return.

TIME

To those who feel like you're fighting super hard to keep your time under control, who wonder where time flies when you really need it and to those, in this priority, who deperately need more of it:

1)Just to sleep.
2)Just to eat.
3) Just to read one more chapter.
.
.
.
78) Just to play Dota.

I'm feeling ya. Jia you and everything will be okay.
A brilliant quote to help you get through tomorrow:

"Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Mchaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein."

H. Jackson Brown Jr.

SPRING? SMELLY.

It's been a while hmm.

So anyways, the campus smells like manure all over the place.

ma.nure n. Material, especially barnyard or stable dung, often with discarded animal bedding, used to fertilize soil.

Actually, I've never really seen manure before or smelt it before for that matter.
No, i don't live atop trees or in farms with barnyards and stable dung in Malaysia, if some you smart Singaporeans are wondering. We have lifts too (yes we do, colin, stop giggling away with martin and zhen bin =D).
I once was asked: "How do you guys get net connection on top of trees?"
AHAHAHAHAHAHAa *wipes away tear*
The scary part is that I wasn't sure if she was kidding.

This is what manure looks like.

I speak of manure and smells because it's spring!

I don't know about you, but when the word spring springs to mind (no pun intended), I visualize a beautiful image of flowers blooming, birds chirping and of the sun hidden partially behind cool clouds. The supposed-smells of spring - flowers and freshly cut grass and mildew on tree leaves. So yes, imagine the happy plastic invisible bubble around me bursting.. because campus doesn't smell like fresh flowers or leaves. not yet anyway.

During winter, all the flowers wilt and die.
Leaving nothing behind but dried stalks and stems.
The trees too shed their leaves, but they withstand the freezing cold and last it out till spring, where their leaves will start to grow and their flowers blossom once again.

In order for flowers to appear in Spring once again, garderners have to plant them again. Cool hor. I didn't know this in the past cause in my internet connection-less barnyard back at home, flowers grow
24/7/30/12/365. Waste money leh wahlau you tell me.. everytime come spring, they have to plant flowers EVERYWHERE. A bit la i guess..but they're really v nice. And they don't just anyhow plant seedlings, they really plant flowers. Like this - outside my window.

And to be able to plant these stalks, they have to use fresh, blackish-looking soil which contain in them all the gazillion nutrients plants need. Hence the wheelbarrows of manure-looking soil, hence the manure-smelling smell and hence, the beauty of spring. It's really going to be beautiful soon. can't wait.

These past two weeks after spring break have been relatively easy-going. Two tests are up next week, and more papers and OB group project after that *joy!*

Ate home-cooked dinner three times the past 4 nights.
Sat night at Wei Jiao's and Sunday and Tuesday's at Wendy's place and her 5 NOC housemates. Typical chinese, rice and vege and meat dishes. mmmm nice =)

I hear Dance Night's coming up soon yeah?
That's great ler.. make sure everyone of you n your neighbours catch it!
The dancers work on their moves for hours on end just to make perfect this one night. A horrible thing happened last year, where the organizers (UCC admin) didn't allow the audience to sit on the steps and walkways, for fear of blocking the fire exits should there be any emergencies. Many people outside were turned away because of the lack of seats, and many who thought they were already safely inside were asked to leave too.

Maybe Dance Night's going to be held in the bigger theatre this year.
But whatever it is, go down early!
It's not about kiasu-ism.
it's not about I wanna sit as near as possible
it's not about getting ahead of the other halls.
(okay-maybe it's abit about that, haha moving along now..)

It's really worth it.
Trust me on this one.

THE ONE THING THAT CAN ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE.

NO MATTER WHAT.

When: 20th - 23rd June 2005
Who: 26 boys and girls. United as one.
Where: KR. LT16. SRC. Sentosa. China One. BIZ2 Level 4.
Why: The answer to this still eludes me till this very day.

Random Flashbacks.
Chin Wei.
Gerald Says was a brilliant idea, man.

I loved it, and always will.

Chris.
Manager. Senior's performance violent-ish but fun!

I didn't know if I had what it takes, but you let me have a go at it anyways.
Thanks for the welfare and great company through the hours.

Gerald and Diana.
Terrific leaders with hearts of gold.

Thank you for the months of prep, fund-raising, senior's camp, post-chalet.
Esp for the 4 days of lack of sleep, superb fun and laughter.
I fell asleep during Gerald's mid-camp crisis.. lol.

Wei Hao and Yan Tyng.
So committed, to ensure that programs ran without a hitch.

Thanks for your guidance, support and words of advice.

Marie.
AHAHAHHAHAA.

Geraldrella the story was the funniest shit ever =)

Jerry.
These memories stay with me because of your award-winning video.

You recorded the frames so incessantly.
And compiled the photos so tirelessly.

Everyone. For your help during the Amazing Race. What else can I say, but thank you for helping me materialize my proposal. And everybody else in the 26 who I didn't list out. You don't mean any less. It's just that it's 1am now, and 26 is too long a way to go =)

I'm mad. I can see the video a hundred times, and still get that faraway look in my eyes and smile at the corner of my lips everytime I watch it. Memories flood back. Visual images fill my mind.

The laughter we shared.
The many many game trials.
At the SRC pool. Sentosa. Around campus.
The sabo-ing of Chinny and that green-shirt freshmen ahahaha.
Wei Herng and his award-winning toilet paper love-letter.

Kenneth's Ryan Giggs-worthy tackle during life-size chor tai ti hehe.
I like to Move it move it, Kalta.

Some people just need to be around every year.
BIZAD FOC just isn't the same if Wei Sheng, Gerald and Delvin don't come back.

So many million things I wanna list down but can't.
Because no matter how many more I list down,
You probably don't know what I'm talking about.
You probably don't know how much the video means to me.
You probably don't know how much I enjoyed being a part of it.

If you do though..
it can only mean that it meant a lot to you too.
Right?

BIZAD FOC 05/06Genesis Main Comm.
It was a wonderful journey =)
If I could, I would do it all over again.
With each and every single one of you guys.

SHORT HIATUS

Happy Birthday Sherrie Ng Seok Hwa.
This old hag here =D turns 22!
well done, big sis.

muaks.

Going to be taking a short hiatus from blogging.

To grow old as gracefully as you did.
and to be as smiley and cheerful.

AND SO WE CLAPPED.

My EALC 002 Introduction to Japanese Civilization lecturer is tallish and thin and wears spectacles. She always knots her greying hair in a loose, neat bun and wears long-everything. Long-sleeve, long skirts.

I'm guessing you're imagining a kindly, fragile little old lady.
She is.

So today was like any other day.
Lecture was like any other lecture.
Halfway through, we started a new chapter, and she confessed that this section was another lecturer's specialty. She took some information off his work, but didn't have the audio for us to listen to. There were two lines on the screen, incoherent. Goodygoodygood damngoody dunno what. It's basically made up of those two words.

And then suddenly.
My tall and thin, frail-looking, grey-haired Jap lecturer started rapping.
In Jap.
She rapped the two lines out for us to hear in Jap.
*stunned*
aahahahhahahhaha.
She didn't stop when she finished.
She went on to rap another song.
this one longer and more cheem than the first.

WAHLAU i can't even rap in English, can?!?
I bet a lot of Jap youths can't even rap in Jap.
By the way, the ahhaha above is a now-laugh.
No one laughed then. Think we were a little caught off-guard.
We just sat there and listened in awe as she.. rapped.
One guy in the third row starting making "rap" hand actions.

When she stopped. there was silence.
Then the class broke out in applause and in catcalls.
HAHHA impressive can.
The teachers here are top-notch..
The lengths they go through to enterta- i mean to educate us.

REALLY SHERRIE?

Did you mean what you said about Korean food?
Korean food's nice! =)

I just had it the other day on campus with Hannah, a Korean I met on the frst day of Exchange Orientation. She's studying postgraduate in the English programme.
Nice nice pork slices on hotplate - tasted like the bbq ones we had.

Oh lol.
My blog like got nothing else but food.

Later entry.

out of the blue.. at least for me, cause i didn't check the weather forecast.
nice little flurries. ahhh..
a relief from the searing heat on monday.
wahlau, that was baD, cAuse my rooM doesN't have a fan, and the heater only emits hot air. i don't know it doubles as an air-conditioner in the summer hurms. my window was open and it was joyous everytime a small gust of cool breeze blew in.

off to 17th and market street now to send in my handphoNe fOr warranty repair, it Krashed on me whIlst we were At the flower show.
Oh, the good ol' days with Samsung flip phones.

DEC HOLS

How were your Dec hols?
Mine were fun..
There were 5 different currencies in my wallet at one point of time.
Thai baht, Malaysian Ringgit, Sing Dollars, Korean Won and US Dollars.

Pics! =)

One of us in Korea.
A picture that shows all our true colours hehhe

My brother acting um..
My sister, cool and calm.

Martin, Small S, Farhana, Andi, Dennis and Big S.
Ee Yang treated the old Block comm, Big Serene and Small Serene
Cause they were Interim Block Comm-ers during FWOC 0506
Then the New Block Comm treated the Old Block Comm

Ee Yang, Li Feng, Cheong Chye and my dearest Edina.
That one year was hard work yeah..
But we did it! =D
Thanks for the memories and time spent together, guys.
The Naruto characters for DnD. The suppers. The daily jio-ings.

The doorgifts. The Command gifts. The encouragement notes to everyone.
Pink&Blue. Hall events. Block events. Floor events.
Hall Production, FWOC, Rag, especially Flag.

The most important first and last events.
Initiation and Command.
Initiation, officially the first important block activity.
Command, officially the last block activity.

These were meaningful to us Bomb-commers
because for us, initiation was our last event before stepping down.

Da Bomb Comm. ahahhaha..
It's still a great name, no matter what they say.
or how badly they scorn it =D

After that, it was preparing to come over to the States.

More pictures next time =)
I love my family and friends.
They rock my socks.

COME ONE STEPHIEEEEEEEEEEEE
Spring Break's OVER!
Please focus on your work, thankyouverymuch.

TAHAN..

Have you heard of Ben & Jerry's Half-Baked?
It's the best flavour. ever.

A crazy concoction of Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Brownies & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
It's so superbly freaking good i wanna eat it all-day long. If I'm not mistaken, Chocolate Fudge Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough are both available back home (in KL + Singapore). I've never seen Half-Baked though, at least before I left. This is basically these two flavours merged oh yumm. heavenly.

As if this isn't the best thing already,
I saw something at WAWA that almost had me paralysed in shock.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes.
I blinked.
Once.
Twice.
It was still there.
I walked nearer and pressed my nose against the glass.
It really exists!
It's not just a figment of my imagination!

Original Ice Cream BarsCookie Dough Ice Cream on a Brownie with a Thick Drizzle of Milk Chocolate Coating.
milk choc coating? gasp.

I am in my room now, trying very hard to curb my craving for this 340-calories super-sinful product. veryvery hard.
Not because I desperately need to have it.
It's because WAWA's just downstairs at the end of the block.
Which means its superbly near in a time like this.

Anyways, WAWA is a large 24hour convenience store.
It's bigger than 7-11 and has a hot-foods section.
And freezers full of ice-cream. sighhhhhh

BACKS!

and my tan's uneven.
My right hand's tanner than my left.
like hah. how can?
hahhha.
I have absolutely no idea.

Florida was gorgeous!
So many new experiences, so many new things seen.
The nude beach, snorkelling, scooter-riding.
So many memories recalled, so many stories shared.
The day at Disney, Universal Studios, the long road trips reveal sessions.

Dropped by Shanny's blog just now.
And saw the night cycling pictures.
=(
B Block pictures.
B Block T-shirt.
B Block eating supper together.

Ex-B Block comm-er Nirun's back! and so's Zhen He, I heard =D
But Zhen He's no longer staying in KR.

I miss Jimmy. Admern. ZhenHe. Nirun. SehKiat. LeeChong. Teresa. Yu Ling. Hui Hu.
I'm gonna miss Olea. Ophea. Chye Leong. Sherry. CJ. Jason. Qian Chen. Eugene. Big S. Shu Ying. Zhen Bin and his superstylo takraw ready cue, when they wrap up command and leave us after a stay of four years. Please don't leave.
I fear I won't do as great a job as a B Block senior as you guys did.

What if I can't impress the first-year incoming juniors as sucessfully as you could, me?

omg. i miss b block.
i miss KR.
i miss frisbee.

We played on the beach in Miami.
The one where everyone stands and passes in one big circle.
I honestly suck now.
I yearn for the pre-FWOC days where life revolved around meetings, proposals, logistics, Ginza lunches, Clementi trips and pre-dinner frisbee sessions with the Fwocers, Raggers and frisbee shens JM, WB and Leong. It's amazing how much we've come to love the game eversince.

But then again, if I didn't come here for SEP,

I wouldn't be able to see so much of the States.
and I wouldn't treasure life back in Singapore this much.
I have the best of both worldS! =)
Thank you God.

HELLO SUN, SEA AND SAND!

Goodbye mid-terms, exams, tests, quizzes, papers, assignments, case analysis, response papers and homework!

woohooo! Spring Break's here finally! =D

Spring break's basically one week off from school where students take the opportunity to go on holidays, usually to warmer parts of the country and to the Central and South of America, to escape the cold cold winter. To places like Miami Beach in Florida, Cancun in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Maldives etc.

Apparently, going away for Spring Break wasn't common 30 years ago. Our Intro to Soci lecturer cursed us all for going away and said he hated us because one, this wasn't common during his uni years and two, he has to stay on campus in Penn this break.
Dean of School of Social Policy and Practise ma.
hahha. Super sarcastic guy. But then again, he's the dean.
Which I guess gives him more rights to speak more boldly.

Acutally, Spring Break officially starts on Saturday,
cause Friday still got school.
But heck all of tomorrow's and Friday's classes

We're going to Florida tomorrow morning!

*dances around in glee*

ZEN, PLEASE.

The mid-term exam later is going to be gross.
I just know it.

I hope my Into to Japanese Civ lecturer doesn't like cigarettes.
cause I'm uncapable of smoking through Jap History.

I really hope she likes Zen, the colour white and it's minimalistic style.
cause I fear my essay's going to be.. not short.. simple. sweet hopefully.

=)
