Thumbs up!

Rose loves to do a thumbs up or down which is super cute on its own. But my favorite is that she always has to touch thumbs! So fun!

Birthday girl!

My little baby is 3! I can't believe it! We're out for a special frozen yogurt birthday treat!

This is the best!

We had dinner out on our deck tonight while the kids played in the pond, came up for a bite, and went on playing. It's just so nice! Here's our mess of dinner that I don't plan on cleaning up for a while.

Happy early birthday, Rose!

Rose turns 3 on Monday, so we had a little family party tonight! We went to the little carnival that comes to town every year around this time, rode some rides, and spent way too much money.

Then we came home to chicken, pork, and veggie kabobs , and cake and ice cream! I made a cute cake for Rose this year that she really appreciates :(!! As you can tell in the picture! The little scrunch! No. She actually loved it! She loves "mee mouse" and all she talked about all week was her "mee mouse" cake that's strawberry and she turns 3! I made marshmallow fondant for the first time. I also made a rice krispie ball for the minnie mouse head that I covered in fondant and brushed melted chocolate chips on it to make it black. Then I stuck 2 peppermint patties into it. Then I just cut out white fondant circles. I had covered that whole cake in cream cheese frosting too, so it was pretty yummy before the fondant, which is very sweet. She was gifted many squinkies, books, zoobles, and a cute pink scooter. Happy times were had by all. Rose is our sweet and spicy! We love her cute and crazy ways! She makes herself known and loves to give kisses and hugs. She also loves pink, princesses and dressing up like super girl.

Our finished deck!

Here she is! With Dave's hand out of commission, I had to step it up and built most of the railing, it was actually fun. Dave and I work together pretty well because he wants everything super crazy perfect and I just like to wing it and get it done, so we evened eachother out and it looks great! We just have the stair railing to finish, oh and of course a huge hole to cut into our house.

My Ebear

Little E has lived up to his nickname this week. Tuesday morning he went in to get his tonsils out! Poor little thing! The whole thing- going in to change, wheeling him back, to taking him home took only an hour total. It was so fast. Poor E, he growled, coughed, and cried the first hour. Growled when we got home, but after he threw up he was able to sleep. He didn't handle the anesthesia well. So it's been constant cartoons, Gatorade, and trying to get him to eat anything. He did better yesterday. Today is worse. He's just sitting on the couch moaning. He won't eat anything. I've just got to keep him drinking. It's pretty tough, but will be great in the long run. He's had major snoring and sleep apnea issues- so this should solve that issue.

This was him yesterday all set up on the couch. Bakugans, blanket, Gatorade, cartoons, and "Tuni. (The banana has "Get Bettter" balloons from Uncle Jeff tied to it :)

Little frilly skirts and aren't Moms the best?

I love these skirts from Costco! I'm so glad Rose does too! They are so adorable. I didn't realize how much I missed the sweet girly princessiness! I love it! Little Rose just bounces around everywhere, pigtails swinging. She just makes me happy!

I love being a mother and I really, really love MY mother! I never really appreciated her until i became a crazy mom. Every diaper change, every sleepless night was done by her (though she has 6 kids!) and I realize how much work she did! Not only that, but when I enjoy my kids, hold them, kiss them, just gush at their sweetness- I know she did the same with me and my brothers and sisters. No matter what we are all doing now, I know Mom always did the best she could for us. Gave her all, cried unto the Lord for us, had serious heartbreak, serious joy, and never has stopped I'm sure. And I know I don't fully understand all she does for us because I am still just here at this stage with my little ones. Things are getting tougher with older kid issues, I think I prefer the baby problems that are solved with a snuggle or a bottle to the new school/friend/drama! Love you mom!

Dave's humongous hand of owiness!

Last weekend I was uploading pictures from our amazing family vacation to disneyland and two beautiful beaches when I was interrupted by the all too familiar sound of Dave screaming "Lenore! Emergency room! Now!" as he opened the back door and blood gushed from his hand. Within 3.2 seconds I had the kids run over the neighbors, wrapped his hand ( which looked like it was cut in half) in a large towel and drove down the street to the ER! Dave had been outside cleaning off the kids treehouse, noticed the weakness of the steps, and as he went down he broke a step, and reached out to stop himself. His hand caught on a screw and tore through his hand and finger, luckily not catching on a ring! He would've lost a finger easily. So after 19 stitches and awful pain, he underwent surgery 3 days later to repair the nerve damage. Now he has a massive arm bandage/cast and can't wait to get the thing off this week. It's amazing how many things he can't do anymore, and it's his dominant hand. He cracks me up, though, by the things he tries to do with his one thumb sticking out of all of that business. Check out the excellent carrying of that Target bag!

Man we have so many projects that are just going undone and will be undone for the next month or so! Oh well, I just hope he gets the feeling back in his fingers. I took a picture of the deep cut before the stitches. Dave shows it to who's ever curious and brave enough! It's really awful! I said that it looks like that creature from the beginning of "star wars: empire strikes back", the ton-ton that Han Solo cuts open and sticks Luke Skywalker inside of! Yes, like all that fatty tissue and nastiness just oozing. This also explains why none of our awesome vacation photos ever got posted.

Life finds a way

If you know me then you will know what movie "life finds a way" comes from. Or if you're just really cool! Anyways, I was headed to a friend's apartment and knocked on their door. As I did, a bird flew out of the wreath. When I Iooked closer, I noticed a bird's nest! How cool! Then I read the note by the door that said to please be careful because of the eggs. Look at the second picture! 4 robin eggs! I thought it was so cute! By the way, no one was home- I was at the wrong apartment!
