Becca's new colors

New year, new me, new colors!! ...
Dad told me Grandmother wanted to see my new red hair, so I decided to post it on the blog. Then I remembered I have a newly decorated room to show off as well:) I sort of stole Candi's idea of doing a tree design in a lighter shade over a darkly colored wall, but I gave it my own twist with the snowy slopes and variety of small trees all around.
I'm totally digging this red hair! It feels so fresh and new:)

What an Imagination!

I thought was too cute!

I went to see what Porter was doing and this is what I found. When I asked him what he was doing he said "look mom a bus"He had made a bus in the bath tub using a camp chair & a bath toy on the faucet for a steering wheel.

Who would have thought of that? Porter loves to ride the bus & go to school, so I guess thats what was on his mind. What an imagination!

Happy 1st Birthday Charly (8/27/08)

The Cake!

Charly loved her cake! It is our tradition that on your
first birthday you get your own cake to eat and make a
mess of, which usually happens quite thoroughly as you
can see.

"Ugh.... That was a lot of cake, I hope I'm not sick."

"oh, my, I'm all messy now!"

"Here Brennon, you want some. I'll share my cake."

St. George

Joseph, Porter, Charly, Chuck & I went for a vacation down to sunny St. George! We arrived the evening of August 21st and stayed until the evening of August 27th. We could have stayed till the next day, but decided to go home so that Chuck could go to work the next day. We had a very enjoyable time, with lots of swimming & relaxing. The condo where we stayed was really nice, it had three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It also inculded a garage which Joseph was intrigued by and the whole time we were down there he would refer to the condo as the "garage house". To this day that is still what he calles it.
The club house was just down the street with a pool and hot tub. Most of the time when we were swimming we were the only ones in the pool, it was nice! There was one night however, that we went swimming and there were about 5 other people there. They were all of the age to be retired, so we already were feeling out of place with our three little kids when Joseph who just LOVES to ask questions, took a liking to one lady and decided to quiz her on everything under the sun. He was asking her things like "do you have toys?" "What color is your house?"" What color is your door?". During the conversation she told Joseph that she had 4 grand kids of her own, so I think she actually didn't mind him too much, but I was still embarrassed by all of his questions. We would have stayed in the pool longer, but after telling Joseph several times to leave her alone, we decided to go back to the condo. Kids can be so funny sometimes! What would we do without them?

We went to the temple on Sunday.

Before we went we tried to explain to Joseph & Porter what the temple was. We told them that it was Jesus' house. The whole time we were there, Joseph kept saying "I want to go in and see Jesus. Is Jesus in there right now?" It was pretty cute!

Little Sahara sand dunes

Erlier in the summer we went to the Little Sahara sand dunes. The temprature was a little cool, because it had just rained the night before, but the sand was perfect for making sand castles and digging holes.

My brother Bryce and I decided to see how deep we could dig a hole. The kids loves it! The hole got fairly deep & we finally stoped digging when the pit was over our heads, the sand was too hard to lift up to the top or either we were just worn out. We ended up having to help each other out of the hole!
After we were done digging all the kids wanted us to bury them, so we filled the hole back in untill the kids could stand in it & then let them a jump in while we finished filling in the hole.
