It has been a really long time since I updated our blog. Life has been busy, full of work, play and school. Today was suppose to be a significant day in the life of our little family and like so many of our planned significant days this one too has fallen through. When we ventured into starting our family our plans never have worked out like we planned them to. Luckly one of our non plans lead us to the sweetest, cutest, most exciting little boy we could have ever imagined. So today we were suppose to be adding another little baby to our family, but that isn't going to happen. I don't really know why I feel like writing about this today since I am usually very private about our adventures in becoming parents. On my calendar months ago I had written hope on this day. For some of us grasping the reality that comes so easy for others is just that hope. Hope that things will work out. Hope that you can find the joy within the journey. Hope that you can get through the heartbreak and still come out smiling at the end of it. As sad and heartbroken we are about this adoption falling through I am glad that we have the hope of the gospel, the faith and promise of eternal families. The hope the simple song I am a Child of God brings to us reminds us of that eternal hope. So in this Christmas season of magic and peace...hope is appropriate and fitting.

Colorado Vacation
We recently went on vacation to Colorado. It was beautiful. We did not miss the 100 degrees in Oklahoma at all. The purpose of our trip was to meet up with some friends of ours from Omaha. See if you can figure out our common thread:

It was such a great time! We saw many wonderful things, but mostly we spent time with good (the best!) people who get us, and we get them. Now our kids are friends too. Can't wait till next year!

Our trip back to Utah-
Our trip back to Utah this spring included a very long plane ride, so long that on one of the stops Carter received one on one instruction from the co-pilot inside the flight deck.
Of course we had to find a train and lucky for us we found one in the Mall in Provo. It was such a great train ride.
New friends were made and more trains were given and found.

Catch Up
I am going to be catching up our blog. We have been on vacation, ran another marathon, had some great family time and threw a great birthday party for the cutest son in the whole world!
