Summer Lovin' Birthday - Lawn Fawnatics #55

Hey friends! Welcome to the 55th Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round we've got some poppin' color inspiration for you -- perfect for summer! I decided to make a summertime birthday card featuring On the Beach and Flamingo Together.

Summer always makes makes me think of the beach, so I thought I'd create a beach party scene. I heat embossed my images on Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock, then watercolored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Once they were dry, I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To create my little beach, I sponged Distress ink onto another piece of Bristol, with the sand becoming the foreground, and the sea extending seamlessly into sky. I trimmed down the focal panel with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and mounted it to a Mermaid card base. Then I adhered my images with foam tape, including a sentiment, which I white heat embossed onto Black Licorice cardstock.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - June

Hello there! I'm so excited to be here for the June edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! Today I'm showcasing the new set by Birdie Brown Friends with Fins. I don't know about you, but I am all about the sea-themed images for summer!

I love how many of the MFT sets work well together, so I also brought in images from Birdie Brown's Gill Friends and Beach Buds. I colored them all with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To create my background, I sponged Distress Ink onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock, using Peacock Feathers for the water and Mowed Lawn for the glow at the bottom. I cut down some Cement Gray Cardstock and created a window using one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. I heat embossed a sentiment, popped the frame up with foam tape, and added my images with foam tape as well.

I also finished off the inside, which you can check out in the video. Click below or head on over to the MFT YouTube Channel to watch! And don't forget to hit that thumbs up button and leave me a comment to let me know how I did with these amazing products. I hope you all have an incredible day! Thanks so much for watching!

A Treat for You - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #54

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #54! This round is all about parties -- from invites, to favors, to decor. I decided to create a little treat container that would be perfect for a doggy birthday, or even just a little gift for your favorite four-legged friend.

I created my dog house favor by using the Milk Carton die, and decorated it using Say What? Pets and Critters at the Dog Park, with lots of accessories with the Scalloped Treat Box Spring House Add-on. The images were colored with Copics. I added a sentiment to the front and back and filled it with mini dog bones. There are so many ways to close this up, but since dogs are usually impatient when it comes to treats, I just went with a simple decorative paperclip. Easy on, easy off!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - May

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to bring you the May edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I was so inspired by the cuties of Kangaroo Crew. Aren't they just adorable? And I knew I wanted to make a birthday card, so I combined it with a few accessory images from Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay.

I colored my images with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I created a background scene for them with an A2 Rectangle Frames panel and some Distress ink with the Cloud and Drifts & Hills Stencils.

I replaced the outside edge of the frame with Peach Bellini Cardstock to match my card base, and popped that whole panel up with foam tape. Then I layered it on top of a pretty plaid patterned paper from the Sweet Celebrations Paper Pack.

I had so much fun creating this card! If you'd like to see how it came together click below or visit the My Favorite Things YouTube Channel. And please don't forget to like and comment and let them know how I did! Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day!

Butterfly Skies - Lawn Fawnatics #53

Hey there, welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #53: Spectacular Skies! If you love creating cool scene cards with sky backgrounds, this is the challenge for you! I decided to showcase Butterfly Kisses  on today's card, since I can't think of anything much cooler than a sky swarmed with butterflies!

I decided to give my Copics a rest, and instead pulled out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, which I haven't used in a while. I think I fell back in love! The colors are so vibrant and pretty with so little effort! I watercolored my images, let them dry, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

Sometimes the simplest backgrounds are the most effective, because they really allow the images to shine. I did a watercolor wash with more Zigs on a Stitched Journaling Card and adhered my images with a combination of foam tape and Glue Tube. Then I finished it up by popping it up over some pretty patterned paper.

New Puppy to Love - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #52

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #52! This round is all about Pet Love, which could not have come at a more perfect time, since I just got a brand new puppy! We'd been so sad since the passing of our beloved Zadie the week before Christmas, and we decided we were finally ready to open our hearts to a new little fur baby to love!

Meet Gemma! She's an 8 week old Australian Shepherd, and she is such a little love bug! So far she's a total mama's girl, and I could not be more pleased. There's nothing sweeter than snuggling with a little fur ball with puppy breath blowing in your face! Lol! But seriously, she's already stolen our hearts and we couldn't love her more.

And yes, she has her own instagram, so if you love adorable puppy pics, feel free to follow. But now, back to today's card. I knew the star had to be the puppy from Bicycle Built for You, which I colored to look like Gemma. To give it more of that element of surprise, I decided to have her jumping out of a box from Holiday Helpers. And I also used images from Critters in the Dog Park to create my own patterned paper for the background.

I colored everything with Copics and added my focal images on a Stitched Circle Stackables layered onto a Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables. I  trimmed down my background with an Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added a sentiment from Rub-a-Dub-Dub on an Everyday Sentiment Banner

If you'd like to see how this card came together, click on the video below and stay tuned to the end for bonus puppy pictures! And if you enjoyed it, don't forget to like and subscribe.
