East Coast vs. West Coast Card - Lawn Fawnatics #179
Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge and this round our theme is There's No Place Like Home. Since my eldest son recently moved out to LA, I thought I'd create an East Coast vs. West Coast card to send to him, with a punny sentiment to make him smile. I used the How You Bean? Seashell Add-on stamp set along with a seaweed image from You Are Sublime, colored them all with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.
For the background, I started with a piece of Bristol trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, then blended on Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink. Then I cut down another piece of Bristol with the Stitched Wave Borders and blended on Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Uncharted Mariner.
I used Finley's ABCs to die cut the first part of my sentiment from Chocolate Bar Cardstock and stamped out the rest in black ink with Milo's ABCs. Then I adhered everything together on a Moonstone card base with liquid glue and finished with a little bit of Stardust Stickles.
If you'd like to see how this card came together, click below, or you can find the video tutorial HERE on my YouTube channel. I really hope you enjoy it! And don't forget to stop by the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has created to inspire you, and to link up your own projects to play along. Jawsome Birthday Card
Hey friends, today I'm bringing you another underwater card, this one being perfect for a boyish birthday. It combines images from Sunny Studio, including Best Fishes and Tropical Scenes with accessory images from Party Pups and Snail Mail. I colored everything with Copic Markers, including the sand below the coral scene, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.
For the background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. Working out from the center, I used Salvaged Patina, then Peacock Feathers, and on the edges, Uncharted Mariner. I stamped a sentiment in the top right corner, and adhered the images with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. To finish things off, I added a bit of Stardust Stickles.
This card is the Part 2 to my August Plan a Card with Me Video, so if you'd like to see a behind-the-scenes peek at how I brainstorm card ideas, go ahead and check that out. If you'd like to see how this card came together, you can click below or find the video tutorial HERE on YouTube. Thanks so much for watching! I really hope you enjoy it!

Fabulous Flamingos Card - Lawn Fawnatics #178
Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge and this one is a fun color inspiration! For my card, I was not just inspired by the color palette, but also by the picture itself. I wanted to create something with flamingos, waves, and distant sandbars. To do that, I combined a whole bunch of Lawn Fawn sets, including Flamingo Together, Ahoy Matey, Swan Soiree, Toucan Do It, Critters from the Past, and You Are Sumblime.
I stamped the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic Markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I trimmed out the background pieces from Bristol Cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide Inks. The sandbars were die cut with Stitched Hillside Borders and colored with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs and the sea with the Stitched Simple Wavy Borders and colored with Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, and Uncharted Mariner. I also used Spring Showers for the clouds.
I used more Salvaged Patina for the sky, and then stamped a sentiment in black ink in the center. I layered on my clouds, waves, and sandbars with a mix of Scotch 3M Foam Tape and liquid glue. Then I did the same for my images. I also did some stamping on the inside of the card with Peacock Ink. And of course, I finished things off with a little bit of Stardust Stickles.
If you'd like to see how this card came together, you can click below or watch the video tutorial on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it! Please be sure to check out the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has created using this color palette and to link up your own projects and play along. Summer Shine Card
Hey friends, today I've got another card to share using the new Hello Bluebird July Kit. This month's kit (our first ever) is called the Sun, Sand, and Surf collection and boy, is it aptly named! Summer is my most favorite season of all, and I have been having so much fun creating cards with these products. Bring on all the beachy, tropical vibes! I colored the images from Beach Friends and Beach Bums with Copic markers, including adding some fun details to the panda's Hawaiian shirt and the hammock, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.
For the background, I masked off the horizon line on a piece of Bristol with Post-it Tape, then blended on Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. Then I readjusted the tape and blended on Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner for the sea. I also cut out another piece of Bristol with the Beach Builder dies and blended on Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand. I also cut the clouds out using the Beach Umbrella dies.
I stamped my sentiment just below the horizon line and adhered all the layers and images with liquid glue. And that's it! If you like how this one turned out and want to watch the entire card making process, start to finish, then you can click below or find the video tutorial HERE on my YouTube channel. I really hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for stopping by!
