P365

Hope no one is getting bored of these yet, because I still have a long ways to go...

This is what our play room looks like 5 minutes after I cleaned it up. Does the black and white make it look a little cleaner? No? Dang.

Today was actually a pretty warm day. (Like low 40's) So we played on our swing set and road bikes around the neighborhood. This grainy pic is of Parker climbing up our swing set, with his typical "don't bug me mom" face.

Carly got her special CTR ring today at church. She was so excited!

We are all suffering a little bit of cabin fever, so I took these two to the zoo today. It was kind of cold, but that made it so we were practically the only ones there. Score! The zoo is a lot nicer than it use to be, but It made me miss the ABQ zoo, which is an amazing zoo!

It snowed again today...

I was trying to think of what I should take a picture of today when I walked into my room and saw that Parker never disappoints. At least I didn't make my bed yet. Who says laziness doesn't ever pay off?

Today I went to the doctor for my foot which is way overdue. I am regretting not taking a picture of my x-ray though- it showed I have an extra bone in my foot. Now when people ask me to say something interesting about myself, I've finally got some material...

P365

Today Kyle and I went on a night get away. We started by going out for a late lunch. I ordered salmon and garlic mashed potatoes... YUM! Then we decided to try crab legs too, which I don't think I've ever had before. I have to say, I'm a natural at eating crab. :)

After having a fun evening at Temple Square, without kids, we headed to the Armstrong Mansion. It's a bed and breakfast in downtown SLC that is an old home full of history. So fun!

Today I taught my first lesson in YW. These are some of the girls. I'm really excited to get to know them better and be in the YW program again!

Today I took the kids to Temple Square for a morning of fun. They just opened the Childrens exhibit at the Church History Museum, so we went there first. Then we walked around the Temple, went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, ate lunch there, went to the top, saw the view, then went to the visitors center and then the conference center. The kids were really good and we all had a great time.

Today I feel like I just read and read and didn't get anything else really accomplished. I've been reading these books and although they are definitely fiction, they are really fascinating to me.

Today I attempted making tortillas for the first time ever. The tortillas here are just not... that great. Well, it was a good first attempt, but I definitely need more practice. But we ate them for dinner and nobody complained, so it was a success.

Today Kyle has off of work and he's been giddy all day because he's going skiing. He got his skis all waxed up and tried them on, so I grabbed my camera.

Morning out

So, Kyle and I went on a fantastic night getaway at a bed and breakfast in downtown SLC last weekend. It was SO fun! And one of the things we did was go hang out at Temple Square- without kids! We went to the movie at the JS Memorial Building and we went to some of the musuems and things. Well, we went to the Church History museum and found out that the new childrens exhibit just opened up. So, since the kids had Monday off of school, I knew what we were going to do...

At the Church History Museum.

Walking around the Temple

At the museum.

At the top floor of the JS building.

Conference Center
We had so much fun! We were there for about 4 hours, which is a record for me and all of the kids on an outing by myself, I think. We saw so many fun things and ate lunch together at the Nauvoo Cafe. There were a couple of minor meltdowns by Parker, but overall, it was a great morning!

P365

7/365
I'm hopping on the trendy boot train and ordered these online last week. They came in the mail today and they are so fun!

8/365
We took so many fun pictures today that it was hard for me to decide which picture to use- so I asked Spencer and this is the one he picked. We went to Hardware Ranch today with Jodie and Brent. We had so much fun seeing all of the elk and playing in the snow.

9/365
Kyle's parents got us this fun game for Christmas so today, after church, we broke it out and played it all afternoon. The kids love it and it helps ease Kyle's wanting of a foosball table.... for now.

10/365
One thing that I'm loving about our new house is the pantry in the kitchen. Look at all of the shelves and all of the room! The shelves go all the way around. Going from no pantry to this has been heaven.

11/365
She was waiting on the stairs for me to get done on the computer. I just had to snap this picture of her pink ensemble. She's all about pink and dresses!

12/365
Today was my first day going to Mutual for my new calling in the Young Womens organization for my church. This is our new church building.

13/365
This is the view from where I drop off Spencer for school. That's Kyle's work in the background. I am loving how close everything is to us! I use to drive about 15-20 minutes one-way to take Spencer to school and now it's less than 5 minutes! And Kyle use to drive the same to work one-way and now his commute is less than 5 minutes as well. We're loving it!

Hardware Ranch and stuff

Spencer got this for Christmas. At this point, they had been working on it for about 2 hours. Someone is a little more excited than someone else.

About 3 1/2 hours into it...

And a grand tally of a little more than 4 hours and they built this Speed Demon Rollercoaster. It WAS pretty cool.

Yesterday we headed up to Hardware Ranch. We stopped at this pizza place at the base of the canyon and lucky us, they had a foosball table. I've already heard at least a dozen times today that now, Kyle wants one for his birthday...

Riding on the sleigh- Carly and Uncle Brent. Look closely and you can see Jodie and Kenlee peeking in.

One of the many elk we saw on the ride.

After Hardware Ranch, we went to a park and played. We must be hard-core (and by we, I mean the kids) because we played for a long time in the freezing temperatures. I was SO cold when we were done, and none of the kids even complained.

Cute girl. (When people tell her she's cute, she'll say, "And I'm smart too!" :)

Remember these things?! I haven't seen one of these in ages. The kids LOVED it! This is as the thing is turning and Spencer's hanging on for dear life. Crazy kid!

Project 365

One of my New Years Resolutions is to take part of Project 365. It's where you take a picture every day of the year and then post it online. Now keep in mind that I am not a photographer! So don't judge my pictures too harshly. But I like this idea because it's a journaling thing and also I'd LIKE to get better at taking pictures so this will give me a reason to try. I don't have a fancy, shmancy camera, so it might be difficult to get better, but I'm going to give it a shot!

1/365
Spencer lost yet another tooth today. I don't even know how many that makes, but we all think he looks like a jack-o-lantern. And for some reason, he looks SO old to me in this picture! :(

2/365
Parker is our crazy man! This is what he insisted on wearing all day today and of course he wouldn't let go of the Peter Pan knife.

3/365
This year for Christmas my parents bought us part of a cow! They delivered it to us today and it took up half of our freezer. I'm SO excited to have good meat that isn't all jacked up on hormones and antibiotics and has been sitting in the store for who knows how long! Best Christmas present. Thanks mom and dad!

4/365
Poor kid has been sick this week. I don't know if he's ever been so sick. He actually holds still for long periods of time! As much as I appreciate the extra snuggling and clinginess, I miss my crazy, never sit still Parker!

5/365
Spencer started up piano lessons again today. I've taught him for the past year, but it was time for a change. So we are lucky that Aunt Jodie is willing to teach him!

6/365
This is the view from our front door, except usually you can actually see the mountain! If there is one thing I miss about Albuquerque (and there is definitely more than one thing) it's the clean air! This red-alert stuff and breathing in crap all day is not fun. A big thumbs down to the inversion.

Merry Christmas

We went to This is the Place Heritage Park a couple days before Christmas. It was SO much fun!

On the train ride going around the old village.

It was SO foggy! It made it feel so much more like Christmas- we loved it!

At the live Nativity. Spencer actually walked right into a sheep that he didn't see. We all laughed.

Christmas Eve at Kelli and Matts.

Katie and Mike

Our Christmas Eve PJ picture....

After threatening the kids, they finally took a smiling picture and made it look like we were having fun.

Okay, so we did have fun.

Decorating cookies for Santa

Christmas Day at our house. Everyone came over to see the kids open their presents, bright and early. Then we had a yummy breakfast.

One of the toys Parker got.

He got more creative with the pieces after awhile...

Explaining to us what he was doing.
We had a great Christmas and it was so much fun to be around family!
