Surviving...

We're just hanging out here in Albuquerque, nothing too exciting, but wanted to update this thing and leave some pictures of our latest doings. Kyle survived his first week of work. So far, so good. And I survived my first week being home alone with the two maniac kids we have.
Carly has a spit/drool problem. We're trying to get her help,
but we hear it's incurable.

This is a picture of our lovely leak in our room. If you look closely, you

can see the water dripping from the ceiling...

This is the snail that Spencer brought into the house after a big rain

storm and put it on the desk while I was on the computer, I was a little surprised, and

screamed. Now he's afraid of them.... oops.

Spencer playing in the rain (the storm that caused the leak). See how much rain is in our pot?

And in our flower bed... it was crazy!

Life at it's best.....

The past week has been relaxing and enjoyable. We had a fun 4th of July and we've tried to enjoy our last few days before I have to start the new job. We are excited to be starting a new chapter in our lives. Hopefully this chapter will go as well as the other chapters have been. I do start work on monday July 10th, and we get our first paycheck on July 21st. We now can pick up the tab for lunch and golf, just come down to Albuquerque to redeem the offer.

Carly sleeping in her swing. (notice her toes are poking through the blanket. thanks Mom for the blanket.)
Spencer and I getting ready for our Christensen fireworks extravanganza.....
Us, enjoying the extravanganza.
Big brother and little sister. They are such good friends already.
Carly enjoying the extravanganza... I'm sure she enjoyed it, well maybe she had no idea what we were doing.
Thunderbird air show. It was awesome. "someday I'm going to fly one of those jets."
I wish I could claim this picture. Maybe someday.

Bandelier National Monument

We decided to explore New Mexico a little bit more since we'll be sticking around, so we went to Bandelier National Monument. Bandelier is a place where there are many indian ruins similar to Mesa Verde. It's about 2 hours away from Albuquerque. Anyway, we hiked around and chased lizards. We hiked about 2.5 miles and Spencer did so good hiking almost the whole way. Kyle carried Carly in a little baby carrier and she slept for the last half of the hike. They both did really good. It was fun to go see.

What a good Dad!

Water Park and Tingley Beach

Dad and Spencer on the Tingley Beach bridge
We must be related!

Spencer enjoying himself.

Recenlty we have been doing a few things here and there. With Me not working yet, and everyone bored in the house, we have tried to find fun things to do this summer that don't cost money. Michelle and her friends took the kids to a small water park thingy. Spencer loved it so much that he cried when they had to go home and he has been talking about it non-stop since. We also went to Tingley Beach. It's not actually a beach, but a couple of man-made ponds. It's free to fish, if you have a license. We drove the remote control boats and roasted in the Albuquerque hot sun. Spencer and friend Logan playing in water.
Spencer's smile shows how much he loves the water.

Handkerchiefs and Cowboy hats...........and thugs.

Hi, I'm either little red riding hood or a space aged gangster.
Put all the money in the bag and nobody gets hurt.
Hi, I must be the weirdest guy in the world, but at least my family loves me.
Grrr....

Stick em up!

What cute gangstas!

Give me all your money........now!

What we put this little girl through. . .

We got bored, so we pulled out a few props. It turned into a fun night.

Our cute family

Spencer fell asleep during storytime, which never happens
so we had to take a picture.
Cute Carly in a cute dress that some friends gave us

a self portrait

Just wanted to send some pictures again. We've just been hanging out here in Albuquerque. Kyle is still doing jury duty, lucky guy, he did get interviewed to be on a murder case, but didn't get selected. So, he's still "on-call" to be a juror. It's been really hot down here - 102 degrees today, so we've been laying low and just staying inside. Well, that's about it for now.

Benjamin, Spencer, and Logan at the Temple

We just wanted to update our blog. The latest news is that Kyle has a job. He'll be working at New Mexico Orthopedics here in Albuquerque, so we'll be staying here for a few more years. We are excited about the opportunity and who knows, maybe it will be a stepping stone for a future job in Utah closer to family. Our family is doing great and Carly is getting big. She is smiling a lot now and is just a great baby! She had her 2 month appt yesterday and weighs 12 pounds and is 24 inches long. Spencer is also a great kid and loves to play outside. We went to the Temple today and walked around with some friends, and he loved it!
