Carter's Surgery
January 11, 2013 at Seattle Children's
We arrived at 6:45am. Carter was the first surgery scheduled.
They had him change into a gown.
I had to put on this get up because they wanted me to carry him to the OR and stay with him until he was put out. I layed him on the table and the nurses and I would talk to him and then I held his hand and the put the mask on his face. As it was taking effect he started to freak out. Tried to get off the table and kept saying "I don't want to do this anymore". That was the hardest for me. So as I was telling him it was going to be ok and they are holding him down they were tell me "its ok mom this is normal don't worry." Then his eyes rolled and he was out. I walked back to be with Chris and wait.He was only gone for about 45 mins. The lump they took out was pretty distinct and they sent it to get tested. It ended being scar and fatty tissue from his falls. No tumor!
ON the way home from the hospital Carter pulled off the surgical tape and most of the outside stitches.
All he wanted was to be held and popsicles. Once he was able to keep those down they let us go home.
All in all it was a success. He was a little sensitive for the next week and he had a lot of gas and diarrhea. Poor kid would fart and he would get an extra surprise!!!
Good Bye
We said goodbye to Carrie on Jan 1st. It was a wonderful trip and it made it a great holiday. We missed our family but having Carrie made it so much easier. the kid's loved her and made good relationships with her. A few things we did with Carrie...

Flight Museum
The day after Christmas we took my sis Carrie to the flight Museum. Obviously this was more for Carter sake but we all really enjoyed it and it was so much fun. I learned that the Challenger Mission where the teacher was killed, that they were still alive when it exploded and that they were alive on impact into the ocean. A combination of hitting the water that fast and drowning is what killed them. They also believe that they were unconscious when they hit the water. I was blown away. I was to young but Carrie remembered it. She was at school watching it happening. When I was in school I remember Columbine. But now it is not just those we think of, we think of the Virginia Tech, Aurora, CO shooting, Sandy Hook Elem. even when the World Trade Towers were hit you never thought it could get worse and it just seems it is just climbing on how to match it or make it worse. Sorry, anyways...flight Museum. We loved going and seeing all the different planes. There was a hands on area for the kids so they could sit in them and play and move the controllers. We had a great time.
Chris and i were able to see and walk on the air force one and a really cool one we can't remember.

Merry Christmas 2012
Merry Christmas! We had such a wonderful day. When Carter woke up he was so excited about his trains that he wanted nothing to do with any other toy. It took him over and hour for us to convince him to open the others. He played with that train all day. We had cinnamon rolls when we woke up. We all got such wonderful things. Kennedy got baby dolls and books and blocks. She loved the wrapping paper and the boxes. She put everything in her mouth. We then made a breakfast brunch of yummy potatoes, sausage, bacon, eggs. Then we spent the rest of the day napping and playing games. We got to skype with our families. I was able to be on skype with my family as the little kids played the nativity. It was so cute. I made a honey ham, my first. It turned out really nice. I made everyone put on real clothes for dinner. the kids were so tired they went to bed early. We watched Pitch Perfect. Not the best movie but some parts were entertaining. We got a game called dabble from my mom. It is like a fast version of scrabble.
I feel very blessed to be with my family. Having Carrie here made it to were I wasn't very home sick. I was sad and missed all of our family but I loved our Christmas.
Kennedy was overloaded with some much going on . Carter got a Utah outfit.
I also had thoughts of our savior and for the day we can think about his birth and his life and how important it is in our life. I get to read and pray everyday and have the opportunity to teach my children about Him.

Christmas Eve
This morning Carrie flew in from DC. Carter and I were so excited. We picked her up and took her home. We ran errands, shopping for last min presents. Then we went to the Botanical Gardens in Bellevue. It was awesome, They had tons of lights up and you walked around through out the garden. We then went to this fantastic Mexican Restaurant for dinner. We Came home and we put our pajamas on. I had made the kids matching ones and I wish I would have done one for Chris and I, next year. We watched polar express and then put the kids to bed. Then we watched a movie as well. Right before we went to bed Chris set up Carter's wooden train set he got. It was a really nice day and it was even better with my sister being here.
Carrie got new pajamas too. So funny and I wish I had some.
