My Classroom

I hate to toot my own horn, but I just think my classroom is too cute. When I stepped into my classroom for the first time i was very indecisive on what i wanted to do. For the last 2 years i have called my class "Team Marino". Did I want to keep it the same or do something different? Why change something if its not broke right? So i and my two manual labor workers(my mom and auntie) spent hours painting my stadium. Oh yeah.... i had 2 child labor worker too...(pat and jakie). We didn't have any white paper, so i made it a night game! I love the way it turned out... and so do the students! That was the first thing they saw when they came into the classroom for the first time.
Another thing that i created was my 7 Habits of a Happy Kid Tree! I had this vision of the way i wanted it, but i was so busy that i asked my aunt to make it. The whole time she was like, "lisa i dont see it"..... I told her..... "dont worry it will come out just keep doing what you are doing". The final outcome is amazing! I get so many complements on my tree. Thanks Auntie!

Dog Beach

I know..... I know..... everyone is always telling me, "all you have on your blog is DODGER!" I'm sorry, but this is my life.... I work, workout, and play with dodger. My life in Cali is pretty structured, but i wouldn't change it for the world. I cant explain how much i love my dodger dog. Seriously if he wasn't in my life i think i would be extremely extremely bored. Its something about his little personality that just makes me so happy. Because he makes me so happy i always try to take him places that will make him happy. So today we went to the dog beach in Huntington. Me, my mom, my dad, and the three dogs(Presley, Elle, and dodge) piled in the good ol' element and took off. Dodger was so excited when i turned on PCH and rolled down the windows. This video shows how happy Dodger was and how much fun he had at the beach. So to all of you who are sick of seeing dodger......... GET OVER IT. ;)
Just an aside: Presley(my dads dog) was absolutely awesome at the beach. The video i got of him isn't that good, and wouldn't give him justice. Presley was jumping, leaping, and diving in and over the waves. Its something that you just have to see for your own eyes.

So Cute

This is our new dog!
Just Kidding! I wish...... This is actually our adopted dog. For the last couple of days I have been dog sitting one of our friends dog. His name is Bubba! Dodger and Bubba are great friends. Every minute of the day they are playing. They wrestle each other until they can't breathe anymore...... Today they were playing in the living room and after about an hour and a half, this is what they did together. Bubba was on the couch first and then Dodger decided that he wanted to cuddle.

Dodger's New BFF

Dodger: hey kid........ that puff treat looks really good! Do you think i can have a taste?
Baby John: dog.......... this is MY treat!
Dodger: wanna see a trick? i can spin, sneeze, high five, wave, and go down...... come on kid!
Dodger: kid..... were did that treat go?
Baby John: dog i told you.... you can't have it.....
Baby John: okay dog...... you can lick my fingers.
Dodger: thanks kid....... yummm this is good! ah man... what kind is that?
After every puff John put in his mouth Dodger licked his fingers. John was laughing every time Dodger would lick. Dodger would watch as John put the puff in his mouth and then would move his head closer to lick the tasty fingers!

4th of July Weekend in Chicago

For the weekend Chris and I were in
Chicago.
We spend the weekend sightseeing, eating, and shopping.
In Chicago they display fireworks on the 3rd and the 4th. On Friday the 3rd we ate dinner at the delicious TEXAS DE BRAZIL, then picked up Dodger, and went to see the fireworks at Navy Pier. Dodger was so cute..... he was doing tricks for Chris and everyone was watching him! He loved all the attention.
What we learned though is that Dodger dog is afraid of fireworks. When the fireworks started Dodger was curiously looking at them, but then i think he realized that the sky never has colors falling from it and those loud booming noises are definitely not normal and started FREAKING OUT! Needless to say Chris and I had to leave 5 minutes into the "great" Chicago firework show!
haha o'well.......

Traveling Dog

Dodger dog has been a trooper! Recently we flew to Nashville then drove up to Wisconsin! He loves his new town that he is in. Everyday Chirs and I have been taking him to the park where he runs with his head cut off and lays in the green grass. When we ride in the car he gets in his seat(which is in the back) and chris rolls down the windows for him and he sticks his head out for the entire ride! He is just so cute..... I love him!

Half Marathon Runner

On June 6th the "Running Club" participated in the Fontana Days Half Marathon. Cindie, Heather, and I all started up in Lytle Creek and ran 13.1 miles to the Finish line. Seriously it was the hardest thing I have done. I was so worried about getting a good time that I ran extra fast! By the 11th mile I was done! At that point I thought..... I had ran this far........ so I kept Runnnnnnin'!

Memorial Weekend in Portland, Oregon

On Friday, May 22nd I flew to Portland to hang out with Chris. I met up with Chris' Uncle Ron, Aunt Janna, Bob, Robbie, Chris cousin Kris, and her family Ray, Kelsey, and Carson. We had a great time cheering on Chris and seeing all the cool sights Portland had to offer.

Robbie, Chris, Bob, Janna, Uncle Ron

Chris and I on the river walk in downtown Portland. I kept calling the water a "lake" and Uncle Ron was getting mad making sure he reminded me every time that it was a "River"!

Chris' Fans
Kelsey and Kris were so excited to see Chris play. They were both scream and clapping the minute Chris entered the game. They were so proud!

Before coming to Portland Aunt Janna had made a Smith baseball shirt. When Chris came in on Sunday afternoon she quickly put it on to show everyone that she was related! She too screamed and clapped so loud when Chris entered the game!

Imature Kids
On Sunday morning Janna, Bob, Ronnie and I took a tram up 500 ft to look at the skyline of Portland. At the top we were taking pictures at the quite observatory. As we were walking Robbie and I noticed this statue.......... We were a little speechless, so to lighten the moment I dared Robbie to "pinch" the rabbit/human butt. As you can see Robbie stood by the statue and as I said, "1....2...3....CLICK!" he stuck his finger in the crack! The quite observatory was ruined by our laughter! hahahahahahahahaha

Spring Break

For Spring Break this year I traveled to Arizona. My week long vacation was full of relaxing and fun adventures.
It was so exciting, I got to watch chris pitch three times while I was out on vacation! He did so
good......On the last day that he pitched he got to hit. I wish I got pictures of that....

Hiking in Sedo
na

On Saturday, Chris took Dodger and I to Sedona. We went on a hike up in the picturesque mountains. It was so beautiful! Chris and I had a blast walking, talking, and just being together. We also had a blast watching Dodger enjoy the great outdoors! He was like a kid in a candy store.

While hiking in Sedona, Dodger got a little to confident and decided to cross the running stream all by himself. He made it halfway and then suddenly the water got really deep and swept him away! Needless to say he got an "e" ticket water slide experience!

Hiking CamelBack Mountain

Camelback Mountain is the number 1 hiking site in Phoenix, Arizona. Hiking this mountain was one of my favorite things I have done in my life. Its about 1 1/4 mile hike up to the summit. Let me just explain......... There is no "flat" terrain. You are climbing up and over rocks the whole hike. Man! Its really hard to explain, but its soooo much fun!At the top of the mountain we enjoyed resting, drinking water, and the AMAZING view! The hardest part of the hike was still ahead of us...... Going Down!!!
Overall my Spring Break was Grrrrreat! I had so much fun hanging out, running, taking dodger out to the park, watching baseball, and going on adventurous hikes!

Arizona Road Trip

On Friday after work, Dodger and I set off to go see Chris in Arizona! We left around 4:30 and got in to Anthem, Arizona around 12am. It was a long drive, but we made it with only two stops! I didn't realize how pretty the state of Arizona was!

On Saturday, after Chris was done with practice we went out to lunch at Paradise Cafe(kinda like panera bread) and then took Dodger to this enormous park in Anthem. We spent close to two hours hanging out in the grass, walking around the paths, and enjoying the wonderful warm weather!
Dodger was showing off. He WAS the fastest dog at the park! Well at least he thought so!

I had such a fun time this weekend. I was really sad to go. Both Dodger and I can't wait to go back. I think Dodger just likes the car rides!

LEGITSBURG

On Super Bowl Sunday Chris and I had our first ever Super Bowl Party! Tony, Candy, Theresa, Jenny, Melissa, Adam, and Patrick came over to enjoy grrreat food and a very entertaining football game. Everyone was required to wear the colors of the team they wanted to win. 7 of us wore red.... Chris and Tony were the only ones with yellow on!

We started the afternoon picking on finger food and making a football pool. We all put in 10 bucks hoping to win the big bucks at half time or the bigger bucks at the end of the game!

At half time we put on our 3D glasses to watch to commercials. My dad is off to the side.. He thought he got in the picture..... He just didnt want to look as cool as all the others!

Melissa won the half time money! 40 buck! She only won because stupid Warner threw an interception! Patrick and I were both looking to win the half time $$.... but then Melissa stole it from us! Adam won the end of the game money! 60 bucks! Good thing Holmes pointed his toes in the end zone! Needles to say the Alfords walked away with some good gas money!

Chris was so excited when he found out he won the PSG soccer pool! My mom thought she was going to win until my dad decided to look and realized that my mom was reading it wrong and the real winner was Chris!! HAHAHAH poor mom!

Dodgers Fun In the Mud

Well on Monday I had to go back to work so Chris and Dodger had the whole house to themselves. Chris rented a tractor and had fun moving dirt around in our backyard. Dodger had fun running in circles, digging, and sniffing in the mud! Even smothered in mud Dodger still looks cute!
