January Fun

Conner had his science project due last month. His question was does the shooting position when shooting a basketball affect your point average? He found that his hypothesis that yes it does was correct. He spent quite a bit of time on his project and went the extra mile earning him the Einstein award.

Coby was awarded student of the month for the theme "I can be a friend". This character counts theme was great for him and he made many friends. He was super excited about this and also got a lot of gift certificates as well.

Conner's been playing basketball on an accelerated league this year and he has really learned a lot. He is a center on his team and they finished up their season after the second tournament game but they will now extend and do a March league to play a little bit longer.

This kid totally fouled Conner and the ref's missed this call....can you believe it the kids is totally over the top of him...whatever? Chris has been very vocal at these games with the ref's, one week I made him sit with the guys so I wouldn't get so embarrassed! Poor guy is just so passionate.

Coby earned the Hutchings museum patch at scouts in January.

Oh yes and then he made a snowman out of me with toilet paper, he really enjoyed this. I get Coby in my bear den in May and I'm super excited to spend that time with him.

New Years Fun 2012

New Years Eve was a Saturday night this year so it didn't really work for us with early morning church. My parents came up with a great idea to celebrate Friday night and then play some more on Saturday. Friday night we went to chic fil a, bowling, then to my parents to play games. Sorry Jer I didn't get pics of you guys they were on another lane with my aunt and cousins and I forgot to get shots.

Becca and her kids.

Chris giving it a shot.

We lit a few bottle rockets off my dads deck too which was so impressive to Cade.
The next day we headed to Sandy to The Pie for lunch and some ice skating. I hadn't been in years and it was a lot harder than I remembered.

Cade & Roxy

My friend Jen now lives right by the skating rink so she and her family came over to join us, it's always good to see her especially because she received a bone marrow transplant a few years back and battles for her life every day. I completely admire this woman she is an absolute inspiration to me.

Tea Party

My mom gave Kelbi a real tea set so she has been hosting tea parties for all, she is a most gracious host.

Love watching my guys please her by being her guests.

Christmas Day 2011

My emotions were all over the place this year for Christmas. Christmas morning was also the Sabbath so we got the privilege to go to sacrament and think about he Savior on Christmas, however our church was at 8:00am making it a bit tricky for Christmas morning. We opted to wake the kids up and do stockings, breakfast, church and then return home to open the gifts.

The kids were exhausted but really good about the whole stocking only thing. I had a grand idea to get up early and make a gourmet breakfast for them however they ended up so tired they had no appetite and when Coby tried to take his vitamin he ran to the kitchen garbage and puked and we all laughed hysterically and decided to give up on breakfast.

Off to church we went and the spirit was so strong and it was a beautiful service. I left to come home thinking it should be this way every year what a great focus for the kids.
We came home and the kids were right ready to open gifts and the first one was a family gift...and xbox 360 kinect the kids were pretty excited about it.

So two days before Christmas Kelbi started saying she wanted this Barbie Charm school and of course there were none to be found but Cade assured me that as soon as she opened her singing machine she would forget all about it. She was excited when she opened it until the darn thing did not work it was completely broken....oh crap! She also wanted pet shops which look like a lot in their boxes until you open them and there is this little pile of toys. She got a couple of other things but it basically looked like not much after it was open. She comes up to me and says I can't find my charm school do you know where it is mom? I tell her I don't think you got it honey and she looks at me with a slightly shaking chin trying not to cry and says okay then sits down at her toys trying to play with them and not cry. I was wishing she would be a brat so that I would think good lesson for her but no she was being so good about it. By the time we got to my moms for lunch I was in tears....I've never screwed up Christmas before.

The two middle boys were so excited about everything they got and bless Cade he just couldn't think of what he wanted so his was just okay.

Conner got it long awaited ipod.

Coby got all the Halo building sets he wanted.

Cade got his blow gun he wanted but he wasn't surprised like we thought he would be, he had figured it out that we got it for him.

Coby had building sets everywhere for 2 days working away and loving it.

Oh you know it we ordered that darn Charm school on the internet on Christmas day and when it came in the mail a week later it was finally the Christmas I had hoped for Kelbi.

She loves this! Maybe better luck next year.

Christmas Eve 2011

We had my parents over for Christmas Eve dinner. Coby set the table and he was quite proud of himself. We had the traditional turkey dinner and took some down to our favorite employees at harts as well. It's good for our kids to think about others and that not everyone gets to be with family and enjoy the holidays.
We opened our Christmas pajamas after dinner and the two youngest wanted to hop into them right away. We love to watch Christmas Story every year so this next pic is my parents glued to the tv.

So what do you do when you get a little bored of the movie I ask? Wrestlemania!

After everyone was thoroughly worn out from ruff housing we decorated sugar cookies for Santa, this was Kelbi's favorite part of the evening.

Snug in her wee little bed...

Good night sleep tight.
