My Thoughts

I wanted to make a list of my thoughts today good or bad, happy or whiny/complainy...

- I am LOVING that Grayson is fully potty trained! If he does by chance have an accident it's because he's playing or outside and has to rush to the toilet and it's always number 2 never number 1 that he has an accident.

- Chris quit his job. Yes it's a sad thing because 1. I got him that job 2. he was making dang good money for only having worked there a couple months. BUT he was getting too stressed out with school. He was supposed to work 8-12 MWF but they never hired anybody knew so they were behind ond the days Chris worked and he would be staying till 3 most days. Which then takes away his time for homework/studying/working out/family. This is his last semester and was supposed to be his easiest. Sadly it hasn't been any different. In order to get the scholarship money from my dad he has to get straight A's. We need that so he needed to quit to make more time to get better grades. He gave his two weeks notice yesterday. I'm glad he did.

- I have a NASTY backside. hahaha. I know this sounds weird but you haven't seen me without clothes on. I look like an old woman. Since I haven't lost all my weight from pregnancy and I haven't done much working out due to not wanting to lose my milk supply I haven't really cared to notice my flaws that could be fixed. Well today I noticed. I have one long square from my small saddle bags to my  bum up to my small love handles. I say small because they aren't super noticeable but they are definitely there! haha. I snapped a pic showed it to chris and then deleted it. HE laughed like he already knew that's what it looked like! GROSS! hahaha. So onto my next thing

- I AM GOING TO WORKOUT! I am working out a plan to convince Chris to let me get a gym pass. I really want to take classes like cylcling, zumba, kickboxing, pilates, body pump...stuff like that. They are way more motivating because you have somebody barking orders at you or speaking loudly over the mic in a happy voice encouraging you to keep going. Weights aren't really my thing haha I have no motivation nor do I know what I'm doing. So I am determined to get to a gym, go 3 days a week for an hour each. Something is better than nothing at this point. I also need to start slowly because I need to make sure my milk supply can adjust so it doesn't just disappear.

- I have been such a crappy babysitter. I feel terrible. I babysit Tuesday-Friday and lately I have been so sketchy...not just to be sketchy but because we have had stuff come up. Most recently my babies have been sick with colds and everytime Harrison comes back he seems to get it too. It's horrible. But I just can't figure out how to get rid of it!

-I have these boots that I LOVE and want to wear but I seem to feel akward when I wear them! How do you wear your boots or what do you wear them with...I've been trying to do some research looking around at pictures and such. So I had Chris bring them back from Texas because I accidentally sent them. Now that it's getting colder her I WANT to wear them I just don't want to look silly. Somebody said leggings...but how does that not feel weird...those things SQEEZE to your booty for everybody to see! Somebody said skinny jeans. Which is fine but I feel like I'm then all one piece...I need to have a bigger top or something longer. Is this even making sense? Maybe I over think things. hahaha

This was me at 18 weeks pre go...so my belly is noticeable...but I feel like my boots to my knees then up to my shirt line looks akward...What would be a better option! How do you wear your boots?! Maybe the shirt was a bad choice?!

- I need to get to a gym...

- I'm loving nursing and being a momma of two.

- I'm growing my hair out again...

- I chopped my bangs...because I feel it's better to chop my bangs than my hair when I'm wanting a change but want to grow my hair out. ha!

- We can't wait to hear back from Baylor...hopefully we do and hopefully it's a good thing!

Chris the morning of his Interview with Baylor. Smokin.

- We also can't wait to move back to Texas.

- Our Christmas holidays are going to be SUPER busy.

- My best friend gets married December 14th here in the Provo Temple. Saturday December 15th we fly to Texas till the 19th for Clark's baptism. We fly back to Provo, leave for California on the 21st of December...driving...we are in California until January 2nd...we drive back to Provo...NEW INFO...We go to our cousin's cabin for a few days...drive back to Texas January 6th to stay permanently depending on where we get in to Dental School. CRAZY! How are we going to do ALL of this driving with 2 babies!! GAHHH!

Isn't this a perfect photo!!! HE PROPOSED!!! I am so happy for her and grateful it's before we leave for Texas!!!

They'll have CUTE babies. : )

- I Love Chris and I'm so happy to be his. : )

4 Months Old

I can't believe my baby girl is 4 months old! I seriously can't figure out where the time has gone. This has probably been our fastest semester...thank goodness since it's our last.
So much to catch up on and yet for some reason I just don't have much interest. Not many people read my blog and I load all of my pictures on to facebook that updating my blog is pointless except to tell a couple stories here and there.
I hardly ever get out of the house due to us only having one car and Chris being at work and school all day long and on top of that I babysit my sister in laws nephew so it makes it difficult to go places. That means one almost 3 year old, a 4 month old and Harrison is 6 months old! GAH! What did I get myself into. haha Luckily Harrison is a great sleeper and easy baby but it does get a little complicated when (picture this) Harrison and Payton wake up at the same time. They both slept longer than normal so they are both crying of hunger. I quickly make harrison's bottle sit on the floor with Payton get her settled for me to feed her. So Payton is laying across my lap attached to me eating I have my right or left leg propping her up and I am using my right or left hand (depending on whats available) holding harrison's bottle feeding him. hahahaha.
What an experience this has been. Almost like having twins...thank goodness they're not because I'm SURE it's MUCH harder. haha. He leaves at 3:30 most days. But it does get crazy around here. I could drive to a park but we don't have a car...so you say well you can walk to a park...well Problem it's complicated when you have two babies that take multiple naps a day AND you have NO STROLLER!! So then what am I gonna do...walk with a baby on each hip or hauling two carseats 2 blocks down the way to the nearest park all while trying not to yell at my 3 year old to stay close by and not run in the street. YA STINKIN RIGHT!!! So we get stuck at home all day.
Grayson watches cartoons in the morning while eating cereal, playing with his cars and blocks and coloring at the table. And oh yeah after eating cereal he then carries around a bag of carrots. hahaha. At 12:30 or 1 he goes down for his nap so you'd think I'd get a nice break...nope. I still feed Payton ever 2-3 1/2 hours. Then that's my chance to work on laundry, clean up the house, feed myself, (which I'm ALWAYS hungry or THIRSTY) and then try to make myself look presentable for my hubby to walk in the door after a long day. haha. Can't imagine what people do with more than 2 kids. Guess you just make it work.
Both of my kids and myself have had these terrible colds. Mostly just runny stuffed up noses but Payton since she is still little doesn't have as big of an airway or have the ability to blow her nose or cough up mucous she just coughs and hacks on her mucous all day and it sounds terrible. The doc said there wasn't much I could do except let it go through her system which is a good thing I guess.
We did take Payton into the Doctor but her real 4 month check up isn't till next week but at her last appt she was 14lbs 7oz. BUT she is EXTREMELY long. I just don't have exact number. Payton is as long as Harrison who is two months older than her. Harrison is just short though. haha
At 3 months I had her ears pierced. I had been debating for a while and just decided that I either needed to do it now so that's all she knows and it's never a problem or wait until she is much older and can take care of them herself. I had been told a few storise where people decided to wait till they were a little older 6-10 and then they got infected because they don't take care of them and don't want you touching them so then they have to take them out and it's a waste of mula. So we went for it. We haven't had any problems, I keep them clean and she can't touch them yet because she doesn't have that much control so it's worked out well. She's giggling a lot more and yet sometimes we can tell she wants to giggle so badly but just can't get it out. She smiles at everybody and slobbers everywhere. She loves shoving her fingers, fists, toys whatever she can into her mouth. She's been rolling around since she was 2 months old. She definitely knows who I am...that or she can smell my milk from across the room. hahaha. Chris will hold her and I will walk around him and she follows me...then I will hold her and Chris will walk around me and she will kind of watch him for a few seconds but then stops and just watches me. haha She's a momma's girl. That or she just really likes that I feed her. haha. We just love her to pieces. She is such a good eater and is getting better at sleeping everyday. For a little while there she was napping for 30 minutes at a time. I would get her up from her nap, feed her, let her play then when she would get fussy I would lay her down and she would be up after 30min. So I decided to start going in getting her settled again, giving her back her binky and she would fall back to sleep. She's gotten much better now...she will sleep for an hour to an hour and a half. At night I usually feed her the last time around 10:30 and she sleeps till around 2 or 3 eats on one side then goes right back to sleep and will be up around 7ish for her next feeding then sleeps till 8:30 or 9. It's getting better. I've been trying to give her her binky to help her go back to sleep to start sleeping longer just like I do during the day. But it's not bad I'm not complaining I'm just working on it getting better.
She loves to be around Grayson and watches him like a hawk. He loves to come up and talk to her and giggle at her and tell her he loves her. They're darling together. He always tells me "Oh I LOVE HER." haha.
She has started doing this puppy dog whimper when she wants attention or to be picked up. so cute.
I said earlier that I am always hungry it seems. I read that when nursing it's taking up to 500 calories! This is my day...I have a bowl of cereal in the morning around 9. Then I don't usually eat anything else till between 1 or 3 and if I do it's a bowl of ramen or some toast sometimes a sandwich or maybe even more cereal. Then we have a good dinner. That's about it. I am always needing something to drink or wanting something to snack on. I don't know maybe I'm crazy but that doesn't seem like I'm taking in a lot of calories for putting off 500. Thoughts on nursing? I'm weighing around 125 to 127 and my pre pregnancy weight was 124. I don't think I'll lose all of it until I'm done nursing Maybe i'm not burning enough energy and I'm too bored? I don't know what have you experienced? Is it really a nursing thing or am I just making stuff up? haha
Chris just got home from his interview with Baylor in Dallas!!! We were sooo beyond thrilled when we received the e-mail from them inviting him to an interview. Funny story....the week we went out to see chad get home from Portugal my brother Ryan had gone in and talked to Janet and asked if she had seen an application come through for Chris Reece. She already knew who he was and said yes actually we just sent him an e-mail for an interview request!!! So Ryan Jessi and my parents all knew he was getting an interview before we even got the e-mail and they didn't want to tell Chris because they wanted it to be a surprise for Chris. So we did a little celebrating. Those stinkers! The interview went well and they seemed impressed and he had definitely improved his application. BUT we won't know anything till December 3rd because that is the first work day of the month. Lame huh?! Crossing our fingers, saying our prayers. We just want to be accepted somewhere! But it was exciting for him anyway.
Daddy came back from his interview with treats from Ci-Ci. He was SOO excited

Sorry for the extremely long update. I understand if you didn't read the whole thing. Not many people read this anyway. haha It's good for me though to keep some sort of log on what's happening here in the Reece home. : )

BABIES GALORE!!!

A few girlfriends just had babies. Can't believe this was me FOUR MONTHS AGO! crap!

So this is Chris and I with Baby Zane in the hospital. I couldn't find any of Garrett or Jayna with him. This is Chris' uncles Baby. haha funny huh? that this is Chris' cousin!

This is Kim a girlfriend from High School. She is currently in nursing school and her husband is doing something with the Military. They just had their first a baby girl (obviously with the adorable bow) Susan Kate.

This is my cousin Audrey(from my mom's side) and her husband Kevin with their first baby Bronx. Such a stud with all that dark hair.

Chris sister Callie and her husband Kyle with their tiny little girl Emalyn with lots of hair

Bestie from Tennessee Danielle her husband Blake and their two kids Anndi who is 3 weeks younger than Grayson, Caleb who will be 5? in January and Everli who is 2 months younger than Payton!!

Our good friends/neighbors Kevin and Gracie had their first this summer too. Baby Kyrie...who also has lots of hair. Darling!

Can't get much better than newborn babies. I absolutely LOVE that Payton has an older brother. Boys are more level headed than girls are. He is so good with her. I get that people say oh they have a motherly instinct. BUT girls are also more emotional, drama, and bratty. hahaha.

Payton 1 week old. Grayson 2 1/2

We are so happy for all of our friends and families...some have 3 and 4 kids now and some are just having their first. It is such an exciting time of life. Congrats to all of you. : )

Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwiches

These are definitely a favorite. I am blogging about my dinners now because it gives me something to blog about and gets me excited to actually make dinner every night. So I missed the first two dinners...one is Chris' yummy Chilli which we love and the other was just Beef Tacos. So for our fourth dinner I made Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwiches. YUMMO! Most of these dishes I've made have been pretty easy but I like it that way. It makes things easier for me as a momma of two! I don't like that there is Mayo in it because it's fattening but it makes it tasty. haha

1. So for the two of us I used two cans of shredded chicken breasts and Mayo.

2. I combine the two in a bowl and use a fork to shred up the chicken til it looks like this.

3. Then I added a good amount of salt and pepper.

 4. I chopped up grapes. My mom sometimes does green and red grapes but we rarely eat grapes or eat enough to go through two bags of grapes so I chose red grapes.

5. I also chopped up celery into nice small pieces. Fun having this girl around to giggle at while I cook.

6. I add the grapes and celery into the bowl of shredded chicken and mayo.

 7. Chris and I tried just using regular whole wheat bread and something just wasn't right. Then we went and bought croissants...HEAVENLY! Probably the other fattening part of the dish...they're perfect.

 8. Put the Chicken Salad you just made and put it into the Croissant. ENJOY!!!

I went to pull out the leftovers from the fridge for some lunch. Sadly it was frozen! GRRRR. I was totally looking forward to leftovers. So trying to save it I kept it in the container and set it in a container of hot water to let it defrost. It actually wasn't too bad. But not nearly as good as it was last night.

*Note to self: Don't stick want to be leftovers in the back of the fridge*

Stuffed Green Chile Creme Cheese Chicken Dinner

Wow what a long title. But I wasn't sure what else to call it. haha So before I had Payton Chris had set a goal to lose 10 lbs. Well he did it! He planned to keep working at it but I think with having a new baby, moving, studying for the DAT, taking the DAT and now being back in school instead of losing more he's gained back 5.

Anyway so we are back on track he is eating better and he is hitting the gym 3-4 times a week. I think he would like to go more but he is super busy with school and work and the familia that he can only go that many times. It's a start. So he said to me Scarlet I really need you to commit to making a dinner every night so I'm not scrounging around the kitchen for whatever food I can eat and then I just pick at stuff the rest of the night. So I agreed wanting to be helpful and hoping to improve my skills and expand my options. I love love love making desserts...when I get together with my mom and sisters we ALWAYS have a dessert. haha I struggle with dinner mostly because I don't have many recipes and I have a hard time just making something up.

Last week I made one dinner and then we went out of town and I made one dinner in Texas. We got back and Monday we bar b qued with family so Tuesday I made Chris' chilli and last night I made this Stuffed chicken dinner. thingy. haha After I had Payton my visiting teacher brought us this dinner...stuffed chicken breasts but I didn't know how she made it or what she used. So i went through and started researching and talking to friends and family about ideas. I took some pictures of the process and the end product. We liked it! We both agreed though that it needed something more...the chicken needed to be marinaded or we needed more spices. It was also an experiment dealing with the bacon. haha. Here we go...

1. I bought a can of Green Chile Peppers and barely used a 1/4 of the can...

2. I then added them to just over half a brick of creme cheese and mixed them together.

3. I also bought fresh chicken breasts...not frozen is what I mean by fresh...I didn't go out and chop up a brand new chicken... I cut off some stuff I didn't want and then I went in and cut a plus sign on top of the chicken breast and then kind of cut out some chicken from the inside so I could put in the creme cheese mixture.

4. Nice yummy bacon...thawed or just from the fridge however you do bacon but you want it to be soft.

5. Here is the uncooked product...creme cheese filling shoved into the chicken.

6. This is where we had a problem. I originally wrapped bacon around the chicken but we were worried they would cook too fast. So we took off the bacon and let the chicken cook most of the way and then we just laid bacon on the top...well then the bacon wasn't cooking fast enough and we didn't want to dry out the chicken so we took everything out and just cooked the bacon in a pan on the stove. Now that it's all said and done we both agreed we should have just let it all cook at the same time. haha I set the oven to 350 and it probably went for over 30 min but I would just keep checking the chicken till there was no pink.

7. The final product!!! IT would have looked much better if we had cooked the bacon wrapped around the chicken from the beginning. We had it with corn and had eaten our salad before because we were so hungry.

 8. ENJOY!!! We really liked it but like I said earlier the chicken could have used more flavoring...we could have marinated it or something. Or even some more spices in the creme cheese mix.

For it being a first time experiment type dish we really liked it and it was super filling...neither of us could actually finish the whole thing. YUMMO!!! Definitely making it again!!!

Let's just be nice...

So for some reason this last week I have noticed a couple of posts on facebook and Pinterest on how people do things. One is a picture of a woman they say is from utah and has large poofy hair.

Here is the first picture...

Sadly this is how I fix my hair. I don't think it's as extreme but I like my hair poofy and to have some volume. If only people understood how fine my hair is they then might understand why I tease my hair.

Here I am with my poofiness!!

More poof pulled back...haha

I chose this pic because you can really see the poof because I'm turned to the side.

I really try not to have an extreme poof but hey...I LIKE MY POOF!!!! leave it alone. : ) Like my cousin has said in her comment...This is me laughing it off... by explaining why I do it...in a way. : )

Here is the next picture on facebook...

The explanation said: "Mascara Madness" Well first I don't think this person understood that Mascara goes on your eyes so this is probably an eyebrow pencil madness if that's what he wants to call it.

Again...Sad day...I totally color in my eyebrows. They are so blonde you can barely see them.

Here I am with absolutely no makeup on! See...you can barely see my eyebrows. I don't think I have crazy arches like those pictures do but really people!! That's basically making fun of anybody that does this...maybe not intentionally but if it could possibly BE hurtful...WHY DO IT?!

I believe we have the choice to be offended...So I am choosing to not take offense. Now I'm not saying i'm perfect and have never done something hurtful but I'm trying to make a point...putting stuff up on Facebook, pinning something on interest for all to see can be hurtful so why do it?! Why do we have to have a mean side to us? Maybe they weren't even trying to be mean...but really...the poor lady in the first picture is probably now famous because she was made fun of for her big hair on Facebook!

My new goal...Think about what I post on Facebook/instagram/ twitter/ blogs whatever and ask myself if it could be hurtful to somebody else. Even if I am not purposefully trying to be hurtful...I need to think about it before I do it.

That's the end of my speech lecture whatever you want to call it.

Not Surprised...

Well I'm behind...AGAIN. I guess i'm not surprised anymore. It's not that I don't have time to BLOG because I have time to do other things but yeah I just don't have much time. This morning I was up at 3:30 and 5:30 and then again at 7:30. I can't complain because I sleep well...Payton wakes up...I feed her in my bed...she goes right back to sleep...I go right back to sleep. It's pretty great. Some nights are better than others. She goes down around 11 and will sleep till 5:30 or so.

Payton wakes up from her nap. Be back soon. 2 hours later I'm back!!! hahaha Payton woke up, Harrison woke up and I need to start the routine over again. Feed both, change both, get Grayson to the toilet, try and get myself ready if I can, feed myself, lay everyone down for naps.

Payton:
-She's almost 3 months old! She was 58th percentile in her weight and in the 90th percentile for her height. She's gonna be tall like her brother.
- She's all smiles and squeals especially when she wants me. She is even rolling over! I can't believe it. It's fun but I really dont want a fast mover again. Gray was walking at 10 months and it'd be fun to not have that with Payton. She is doing awesome at nursing still which is great for me.
-She doesn't have a favorite toy or anything. mostly because we don't have many toys since they've all been sent to Texas. She does love grabbing for things. I can't believe she can see that well yet but she will stare at something (necklaces or even clothes) and grab at them and pull them straight to her face.
-I am working on getting her to nap better. She gets fussy so I know she's tired. I go lay her down and let her cry for a few minutes. Then I go in and re wrap her put her binky in get her settled down and pat her bum a few seconds and walk out. She usually sleeps for about 30 minutes. It's not terrible because she's happy when she wakes up but I want her to start getting on a longer napping schedule...IDEAS? I usually just go back in after the 30 minutes and try and get her back to sleep for another 30 minutes hoping she'll pick up on the idea that she's supposed to sleep longer.
- My mom and sister showed up this last weekend. Payton was fussing as we were all getting ready to leave (she hates her carseat) my mom picked her up and grabbed the pickle off the counter that Gray had been snacking on earlier...she LOVED IT! she just sat there and gnawed on the it for 5 minutes. She then happily went into her carseat. hahaha

Here she is doing her roll.

Grayson:
-Best helper/big brother we could have asked for. Payton is one lucky girl. He loves to talk to her, play with her, get her to smile, try to feed her mom's frozen milk bottles (thawed of course), clap his hands at her, tell me when she's spit up/drooling, tell me when she's sad and crying. He even sings to her. It's the cutest thing. He's very protective of her and loves her to pieces.
-He is talking like crazy!!! He knows all our names (except mine and Chris' middle names) and his most recent is his birthday.
-He's getting better at his ABC's and we are still trying to get him to remember its 8-9-10 not 8-9-2. hahaha
-He wears 4T shirts and 3T pants. He's long and lean probably no fat on him.
-His favorite thing to tell people right now is..."We go pick up Ya-Ya at the airport in Tekas?!" Next Week?!" yaya is my brother Chad.  Gray was 9 months old when Chad left and we pray for him every time we have prayers. He is so excited for him to come home. I'm impressed because I can show Grayson a picture of Chad and he knows who it is. Chad gets home a week from tomorrow! It's coming up so fast I can't believe it's been 2 years.
-BIGGEST NEWS EVER!!! GRAY is pretty much completely potty trained! He goes to the bathroom when he needs and sometimes I will give him a little hint that it's probably time to go. He also is doing so great going numero dos in the toilet. It was the biggest accomplishment ever when he actually went in the toilet. I couldn't believe. Every time since he's just gotten better and realizing he needs to go and he quickly rushes to the toilet. Every time he goes numero dos on the toilet now he says to me from the bathroom "MOMMY I DID IT! I go poop in the toilet....YOU SO PROUD OF ME!" I love it. I love him! If he has an accident it is number two but that's not often since he only poops once a day. and it only happens if we are out and about and we can't get him to a toilet or he's off playing.
This first one he wasn't supposed to know I was taking the picture. But he spotted me which is why it's blurry.

Hubs:
-Finished with all supplumental applications (required before you get an interview request for those schools that ask for them)
-Getting nervous about schools starting. Well nervous because he doesn't want difficult classes.
-Every class is a science class. BLAH!
-He only has class tuesday thursday but it's from 9am-6pm. YUCK!
-He works Monday Wednesday Friday from 7am-noon
-This last week he reached 104%eficiency rate at work!!! AWESOME!
-He was recently bumped up to 11$ an hour...and 12$ will come soon yay!
-He is such a great father to our two kiddos. Gray just adores him and Payton loves to laugh when he laughs.

Momma:
-I stay home everyday watching the kiddos.
-Changing pooopy diapers.
-Being sure Gray goes to the bathroom
-Trying to keep up my blog
-Skype with sister in law on bed rest
-keep the house clean
-do the laundry
-all of which gets done while they are napping only to have it be a mess again to hours later when naps are over. hahaha
-I am down to about 126...pre prego weight=124!!! I'm getting close. I bet I will lose that when I stop nursing and could probably lose more if I worked out. I need a buddy. hahaha
-best friend just got home from her mission in Brazil!!!

Between the 5 of us...
2 Husbands
3 Missions
2 Babies (both mine)

These were my best friends in high school. Shaylor, Josh, Bethany, and Arielle. This was at Bethany's get together after Church this last sunday. Sadly Arielle wasn't able to be there due to her now living in Chicago. We were able to crop her in.

My momma took me shopping this weekend. IT was such a nice treat. It was mostly because we are having family pictures when Chad gets home and I needed to have some colored pants. Then it turned into a shopping spree. This is one of the tops and pants I got. This top is kind of funky because it has usper loose sleeves...but they don't connect which is what I am trying to show in the picture on the left. It's really comfortable and I like the color. But it's just weird that it doesn't connect the front to the back.

Chris is the best. He let me go with my mom and Adria to help get Adria settled in down at Snow where she is going to svhool. IT was a fun little girls trip. It's about an hour drive and it's jsut a teeny town. Very cute. She's already having a blast. Payton spent a lot of time in her carseat and I spent a lot of time feeding her out in the car while my mom and sister ran into Wal-Mart. Mom was a great grandma and snuggled up with Payton while she napped so Adria and I could work on some room decor. This slippers are AWESOME! Adria's missionary gave them to her...they are from oobies. Never heard of them before. They are very comfy and then have an awesome thick sole on them so you can walk outside and not ruin the shoe. Payton of course loved being the center of attention when it wasn't about Adria. She was smiling at my mom in that top right picture. What a great weekend with my mom and sister. Thanks for letting me join!!

Well I will keep updating as we hopefully receive some incites for interviews. Still crossing our fingers. we won't be stress free till we get accepted...(hopefully it does) and then after that there will always be stressful things. haha
