Spiders are Freaky

Ellie: "Mom, can spiders jump?"
me: "Yes, some can."
Ellie: (shocked face) "They can?! That's freaky! If they can jump high high high then they can eat a human. Don't you think that's freaky mom?"
me: "Yes, that's very freaky."
Ellie: "I don't like spiders. They're freaky."

Folding 101

On Sunday after church I told Chris it would make me so happy if I had help with getting caught up on laundry.

I pulled all the sheets, towels, pillow cases and blankets out of our ginormous pile and everyone pitched in.

Probably not the best day to choose to do this, but hey, at least we were working together as a family. Better than sitting our butts down in front of the TV anyway.

Seriously, two words, Love it!!!

Never a dull moment.

The other night, Ben, Kim and their girls came over for dinner.
After we were all stuffed the guys sat down and watched a movie and Kim and I took Courtney and Peyton with us for a diaper run at Costco.
On our way there Peyton decided that the shiny door handle in Kim's car (ours are hidden and black) was calling his name and pulled it right as we were making a left hand turn!
The door flew open and the dome light went on and we felt a breeze all before we figured out what just happened. It scared the crap out of us.
It scared Peyton a little too, because he was an angel the whole rest of the way there.
~

When we got home Courtney laid on the ground and recieved a wipey bath from Peyton.
She actually enjoyed it for awhile before she decided enough was enough and started screaming at him.
It was funny.

Got Chickens?

Well we do!

I know, I know. I'm embarrassed to even tell you all.

But appearently my husband is a farmer at heart.

And we go through a ton of eggs all the time.

Chris transformed our previous "bunny mansion" (yes we've had bunnies too) into a coop.

They all seem to really like their new home.

When I walked outside to see how Ellie was doing she said,
"The chickies are showing eachother how to be happy inside."
Huh? I still don't know what she meant.
In a few months they should start laying eggs.
If not, then off with their heads!!!
Just kidding...well, maybe.

He's at it again.

This kid is relentless!

I walked in the kitchen and he said, "a eggy, I hungry."
(appearently the waffle 20 min. before wasn't enough)

On the other hand, he is so stinkin' cute and funny
(and a little annoying).
I was too lazy to go to Costco to get more diapers, so I just got Luvs at Walmart
and he is so excited about his new diapers.
The annoying part was when he took every single diaper out of the box and flung them all over the house.
You may be wondering where I am during all his naughtiness,
but I have to tell you all it takes is for me to walk out of the room for just a minute or two and he's off to destroy!
I think he secretly just watches me and knows exactly when it's safe to act. All I can say is he better grow out of this soon!

Yay! a new post!

After nearly 2 weeks I'm back, but I don't know how often. I've been feeling pretty yucky, but not throwing up a lot, so I'm happy about that.

We all got the flu and it took 10 days to go through all of us and man did it suck!

We are all better and thankfully I have my most nauseous moments in the evenings.

It's a good thing I feel somewhat decent during the day since Peyton enjoys taking advantage of my back being turned.
(this popcorn mess happened today. I just haven't taken all my Christmas decorations off my mantel. Pathetic, I know.)

I need the energy and well being to keep up with his messes.
(at least he got the broom and tried to clean it up)

Chris found this trike at Good Will for $4.

He's been riding it ever since. He's a pretty good cruiser.

The tights and ballet shoes were from Ellie's lack of speed to get dressed for dance so he saw an opportunity and took it.

She wasn't happy when she saw what he was wearing. Chris wasn't either, but too sick to care all that much.

(definately going in his wedding video)

Last night.

"Come on kids, time for family prayer!"
(everybody comes and kneels)

Chris: "Mom has something to tell you."
Me: (big grin) "I have a baby in my tummy!"
Taylor: "Are you serious! Do you really?!"
Peyton: "I wanna see!"
Ellie: "Is it a girl?"
Preston: "No it's a boy!"
Me: "We don't know what it is yet."
Taylor: "If it's a girl, what are you going to name her?"
Me: "I don't know."
Ellie: "Name her Katelyn!"
Taylor: "I thought you liked Kody?"
Me: "I do, but I don't know anymore."
Taylor: "What if it's a boy?"
Preston: "Name him Preston!" (big laugh)
Chris: "Preston number 2!"
Me: "We don't know yet. Guess when we found out?"
Taylor: "When?"
Me: "The day before dad and I went to Disneyland!"
Taylor: "Are you serious?! You kept it a secret that long?!"
Me: "Yes, we wanted to wait until the time felt right. And guess what else? The baby is due 5 days after Kim's baby!" (Sept. 14th)

It was a fun conversation! Our kids were so cute and excited. We are so happy and can't wait to meet our baby #5!!!

I need a lock for my fridge.

Usually this sort of stuff happens while I'm blogging,
but this time I was on the "pot" and Preston comes running in
and freaking out that Peyton is getting into the fridge and made a
huge mess...not the way I like to end any kind of session.
