leave -verb to go away, depart, or set out: Chris and Ceily and Eddie leave for South Carolina today.yes, tis true. they left and came back already.
lana, noah and myself; we stayed home.
i was a bit sad. but i got over it.
it made me a bit nostalgic for the south. saw these pictures. made me want to go home.
as we drove north in july, we had to stop here. had to have a picture.
for 7 years we drove past this iconic pit stop. at least 4 times a year.
at least. that's 8 times a year to pass to and from.
at night, bright lights illuminate the horizon as the car would approach.
the sombrero would flash in the rear view mirror as we sped by.
when the children were sleeping it was peaceful.
when they were wide eyed, they would begin to ask to stop. they always wanted to ride the rusty, old decrepit roller coaster that is seen by the side of the road. or climb to the top of the sombrero tower.
we
never stopped. never. in such a hurry to just get there. or to get home already!!
we were such mean parents. my goodness. now that i think about it, what was the harm? why didn't we stop just once to enjoy the attractions?
so, i made everyone get out of the car to take this photo. i think lana and eddie had been fighting. i
may have been yelling at them to stop. but, come hell or high water, we were going to get a picture!
i even risked death to one or all as i clicked this one in my rear view mirror.
a memory of a lot of yesterdays.
