23 November 2005

soon enough.

quite very suddenly, its almost time to head home again. home that i've not seen in over 10mths, family and friends whom i've lived almost a year away from. getting caught up in the cycle of living is what one should try hard not to, but easier said than done. when school or work begins, projects and assignments come due, deadlines draw closer, its just all too easy to get sucked in and just for one to 'go with the flow'. no longer does one dictate whats done in their own lives but rather what they do depends on the direction in which they're being pushed.
thats why time away from it all is good.
time to sit ard or lay in bed. with nothing pressing to do. with no obligation to anyone. it just feels great. but at the same time, heading back means getting back into a thick mist. once familiar places that are same yet different. stepping back into a life i left off almost a year ago.
i spose thats what studying overseas does to one. two lives are led. well in certain instances they merge but more often they dont. and to me the one now is the transient one. one that gets me away to allow me to look from afar. and hopefully learn it better.
free time allows for many things. sentimental movies on the lappy. meaningful chats with friends old and new. time to reflect about the time past. this will be my last summer hols. i cant wait to see how things are now. how my darling nieces have grown. i hope i'm better prepared to wade thru the mist this time round. i'll find out soon enough.
soon enough. :)

21 November 2005

the sights some will miss.

the weekend passed quickly. saturday's dinner treat from mich at ciao italia. sunday's dim sum brunch and bowling after. i must say funds run out fast. :P
less than two weeks to home and its getting rather boring slacking home. on the other hand, it sure feels wonderful to just be able to lay in bed all day long with a good book in hand. hmmm... a couple more days of that perhaps.. then i shall sort the loose ends and head out for a lil fun in the sun, whatever that may be. :)
re-energize for home. i cant wait to see my darling nieces.
i love my new toy... tho it has sortof a limited use. walkie talkies! hmmm.. :s
sorry mich.
the pics turned out blur.. again!
anyways have fun in melb` ta~

19 November 2005

two in a pod.

one year on. its been that long since i've seen westsea 9. the barge that a couple of us worked on for the better part of sem 2 last year. you see, we were employed as workers by a friend's dad to help him do up the barge for lease. de-rusting and painting it. it was like army all over again. :S
this time round, there wasnt as much to do. just a lil touch up on the rusty bits before its off again for a few months. anyways this fin i saw while i was working right at the edge got me quite shocked. then i found out it was ONLY a dolphin. *phew* :P

a lonely day in rockingham.

16 November 2005

sun's up!

summer's almost here. with the daily temperatures rising and the average being in the 20s it feels good to be out. met up with mich for lunch at freo and we then headed to lil creatures for a looksee as she hasnt been there before. by the time we were done there and the two hour parking ticket ran out, the both of us were almost filled to the brim with food and drinks.
even at lunchtime on a weekday, the lil creatures brewery was quite packed. i spose its also cos freo is such a touristy place that it'll be busy anytime. but stay long we couldnt as we both had things to do before we head home. her to meet up with other friends before she heads off to visit her boy, and me heading back to help a friend move stuff.
a must see during a visit to freo for anyone. just go on in for a pint of pale ale, a look at the mini art gallery, or just for a quick fillup of your stomach. :)

15 November 2005

and dreams began..

its wonderful to start dreaming again. the kind done when you are asleep la, not when you're half awake and supposed to be doing other stuff. :P
to me i spose it just means i am better rested and that, is a good sign. the slacking part of my hols have begun! woots`! not too sure why, but dreams almost always never come or they get forgotten almost immediately after i wake, when i have lots to do (read:during work and school). long ago was the time when i could wake up and just lie in bed for as long as i wanted. :)
but i'll try not to do that. cos there's friends i've to meet up with before they leave for good. the room to pack up. and hopefully someplace i'll be roadtripping to before i head home. time to be up and about! ta` ;)

14 November 2005

breaking in.

over the weekend, i spent my time at a friend's place packing and loading up stuff into a cargo container. his whole family is moving to sydney and there was heaps to move. in fact, when we finished for the day yesterday, the container was only about 3/5 filled and its possible not all would fit in. anyways it was a good way to spend time while waiting for everyone else to finish up with their exams. i really do need to work more, otherwise how am i gonna afford to go on a holiday?! :S
well if all else fails i shall just stay home and finish up my game of pirates! and the stack of books i got before the exams. and just basically slack slack slack till i head back home in about 3 weeks or so. work awaits then... but its all good i reckon. :)
ok time to fatten up. and dream`! ;)

12 November 2005

telstra rally australia.

finally! my exams are over and it means one thing, i got to go to the telstra rally at last!!!! :)

with many still having exams, there werent many people that could afford to accompany me to the rally. but luckily michelle was keen to go as well, that and the fact she finished one day before me *boo*. woots!
so langley service park was the first stop. catching the first glimpse of the cars that were in the rally was an eye opener for me at least. with the driver's title and the manufacturer's title already decided, this last rally of the year was a sort of show-n-tell for next year's teams and and also a way to secure placements on teams for drivers. so there we were watching the cars come in after a washdown. and i lost track of time just snapping away. :P
then it was off to glouscester park where we had bench tics at the superspecial stage. with the gates opening at 5, we joined the crowds and made our way to the benches. which sucked bad. why? all cos it was blocked by fencing and it seriously was a terrible way to spend $30. so we decided to try our luck at upgrading, and even after already entering the stadium, we found that we could! :) so upgrade we did and gronholm we went! much much better and the $20 more was worth it.
the pre-race segment was pretty alright. flypasts. skydives. motorcross. celebrity races. v8 ute races. with the rest to be seen for yourself... enjoy`

WRC cars at telstra rally 2005.

at langley service park. cars coming in from the country stages. super special stage at gloucester park. gronholm - where we sat.colin mcrae.

because not all cars are created equal. :)

incentives work better.

no reason not to study harder now. :)

as if the exams are over.

the pace at which i revise now isnt as fast as it should be. and i'm running out of ways to put it across over here in positive light. so anyways, walking to GP3 on a sunday morning in fine weather just seems so so very wrong. it was the perfect weather to be on the road, taking a hike or just having a cuppa. sad indeed. but it just made the days after exams so much more to look forward to! :)
AIS and now ML revision. i have more to cover but my mind's already drifting. housemate's already flying off tomorrow (damn archi students with no exams) and the rally's this weekend! i have no tics. rawr!!! that and the fact tt i just found out one of my cousin's getting married on saturday. i wanna flyyy home!!!!! but i also wanna stay here for abit after the exams. decisions indeed. :S
okbye.

05 November 2005

would have blogged more.

but i ate out after the paper and also had an hour of cs with roy tj ryan jun.

headache after paper. now made worse. :S

time to cramm yet again.

*that sinking feeling*

04 November 2005

03 November 2005

boo!

is it just me or are libraries always seemingly brighter at night? maybe its all relative, as is with everything else. but nights always end up being more productive for me, too bad it only opens till 11! *lucky me*
-
on the left here is someplace near my fav spot in the lib. erm.. not that i am there all the time but its just the place i'd choose if i wanted to study. not as packed as the other areas and the traffic's low as well. :)
-

anyway, between meals and breaks, i gave my friend quite a scare on the way back to our tables. walking in another aisle and slightly ahead, i suddenly decided to push a book out on his side. end result was smt like this on the right. :P
-
after that we were instantly more awake alert. him from the shock and me from the laughter. ;)
-
ohwells. exams result in stress u see...

02 November 2005

espresso.

so near yet so far. four hurdles to go before i hit home. i just hope i'm progressing well enough to get through.
i did my bit of study today at the library. it seems the more 'official' surroundings enables me to focus a lil better. better than what i manage at home or at the trinity resource library. will continue there tomorrow and hopefully progress will be good. then i can start on the other 3 that'll kill me in another way. the rate in which i have to take them. :S
on a lighter note. i had my first espresso shot today. erm dont ask why but i never was very much a coffee person. to me one variant was just like the other. but i just might learn more about it. since i've the time, relatively speaking of course. :P
having said tt. i've yet to determine the amt tt's needed to keep me awake. cos one shot aint nearly enough. ;)

01 November 2005

no retentive capacity.

something isnt working right. cos this brain of mine aint operating at maximum efficiency like it should be, especially at a time like this. this is nooooo blooody gooood. :(
anyways, setting the alarm at 930 so i could attend a revision lecture at 10 today didnt help. cos it went off, i slept in, and the jumping outta bed bit came only at 957. :s nvm that, so i arrived at ard 1010. erm..dont ask. and i had to sit on the steps for a REVISION lecture. it just goes to show how hard this unit (applied financial mgt) is. wells, if its in sg i can understand that even repeat lectures might get full attendance, but this iS australia you see. tsk. *mental note to be early for the one on thursday*
3 full days left before this AFM paper on sat. then its a mad rush to cram for the other 3 consecutive papers. help. help help help!
ok i should sleep now. 2hr revision session planned for morning. :)
nights world.
