and the cold wind blows...

and suddenly its like deep into autumn already, when only days ago we were having hot sunny days and all! this change isnt too bad imho, but for the unprepared it can be quite bad. but this unpredictable nature of weather does mirror life in general i spose, changes come and go without warning and the best predictions can and often fall short. what one can do is just be prepared at all times! :)

so very soon my one week break will come to an end and school proper will being once again. this time round it will be work, work and more work! time is running out and without realising more than a month has past without me really noticing. not good... :P

work on REV, on each of the 4 units, on my health, on my financial health.... all has to be stepped up in their individual ways. which means i have to focus. hmm... hard. lol. but i'll do good to try at least. ;)

so today out came the comforter and the jackets and all the other stuff to better equip me against the cold. sleep should be good but it could have been better, for i've made a decision that might leave me sadder fer a while. hmm.... but thats a story for another time! ;)

things seem to be falling in place i spose. the house is neater after the major cleanup we had today. and somehow a cleaner and more organised surrounding gives something in aid of the major push! ... hmm.. do i make sense? :s

how have things been going for you lately?

oh. congrats to pom on her first paycheck!!! *hint hint* :P

ms.prataphile.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

you may be old, but vee still love u! :)
hmm. hope i didnt get the wrong date! i am so not good at birthdays. :P

27 March 2005

easter weekend.

we ate. and ate.
riz.riz n jody.jay
jean.riz n jay n me.jody
gerald n jean. me. jay n me
sat nite out with the siblings involved lots of food. they had called pretty late so i already had some food at home and str after we went for dinner (my second!) at prima taste in the city. its some place where they have goooood food from home. the usual fare of hokkien mee, laksa, mee goreng, chicken rice etc. derick? n eileen also came to join us for dinner. dessert plans were abandoned as we were too stuff to have anymore. so we proceeded to their place after picking up jean's boy. once there we caught a few silly skits on vcd by comedians and had the highlight of the night.
MONOPOLY.
there were four 'players' of two persons each and we were at it for like four hours. longest ever in my memory. :s toward the end, in order to end the game we had mergers and tried to drain the other group of their resources. but sadly i think the group we were in lost. by final count we had more assets but only 4k in cash due to poor business plans. while the other group had almost 10k in cash! grrrr... we will meet again soon. :P
the next day was a visit to the church. *roll eyes* and then off to the city for lunch! the chicken rice at this place called 'tak chee' or smt was gooooooood. a walk ard the city followed. got myself two books which were on sale. yayy! now i wont be so bored anymore. hopefully! ;)
alritey then, till tomorrow. happy easter sunday to you.

25 March 2005

and its upon us.

good friday. also good considering its the official start for the holidays! i dont think i'll have much to look foward to this holidays. maybe a roadtrip or something and that's about it. no work. i think. a little catching up to do wrt my studies. that's all.

life will pretty much HAVE to be routine after the hols so i'll take what time i have now to plan and slowly get into whatever mood or mindset in preparation for it.

maybe i'll head into the city for a short walk. :)

time alone is always good.. somehow...

24 March 2005

just one.

ONE MORE CLASS AND EASTER BREAK BEGINS!

22 March 2005

speed bumped.

an accident during touch rugby.
so... i tried to do my bit of exercise. at least two days per week. and today i played touch to fufil the 'quota'. wells its not as easy as it seems and definitely NOT something for me. i throw the ball wrong and i am clumsy. which... explains the bump. a two man collision that resulted in the wind being knocked outta me, a bump on my chin and one on the guy's head. :)
the pic? a ploy to gain sympathy but i think it has failed miserably. ohwells :P
off to do work lest ppl say i've been slacking off and lizzing ard. *roll eyes*

20 March 2005

so that was it.

all the pictures and public happenings of the past week or two. will get down to more studying this coming week so i can peacefully enjoy the easter break. :) more pics will come by then and i sure hope that it'll all be better. :P

till then, have a great week ahead!

"its always about the way u choose to look at it"

after.

back on mainland, drying up.
so we got back in one piece, had quite a scare in a few places but it was all good. had a half hour before the ppl on the ferry got back at abt 3pm so we did a lil sunning. the problem with office jobs....u get de-roasted. :(

before

view of the point of crossing.
soon our short stay on the island came close to ending but not before tj and myself decided to take a short walk back on our own. so we left penguin isle at ard 2pm and arrived a lil before 2.30pm. :P we looked pretty silly at some point when the water level was collar-bone high and our bags were held over our heads. heh.. but it was fun.. and something only the two of us will do... only we are crazy enough! ;)

up up up up all the way.

a slow climb up but its always worth it.
this time it was the panoramic views we got of the tiny island we were on. :)

little divers.

waiting to be fed.
they were fast swimmers and zoomed around in the pool they had. here's them out of the pool.

the enclosure.

where they live without worries.
these penguins have been deemed unsuitable for release into the wild and by their being here they're helping their kind survive in the wild. how? by enabling people to learn more about them.

mine. mine.

seagulls galore.
there were so many of them that the walkways all over the island was covered with gull droppings. and we were advised not to eat while walking... :s

we said hi.

us at the beach on penguin island.
ryan. myself. tj. shups.
us four

19 March 2005

the trinity four.

we go places..
where no one wants to go... lol. ya. we sign up for boring activities to waste our weekends and holidays. thats what we dooo.. :P

a trip with the iss.

penguin island... where there are 10 penguins.
so the four of us had a sat to spare and signed up for the trip. another 17 bucks gone. lots of fotos. sleeping time on the bus. and quite abit of fun of course. :)

m.a.m.b.o.

riz.me.ryan.dom.jay.stan
mambo red at paramount wasnt too bad. well the crowd came late and all but alls well in the end. as usual the rnb dancefloor was the more popular one but i'm sure dj sonny of zouk played a big part in improving the mambo experience for many. once a sem is enough tho, and it can never beat the real thing, for me at least. :)

mambo red madness.

tj.ryan.myself
we club together and most importantly we have fun! no clingy pests allowed and we're absolutely sure about that. ;)

tsk tsk.

she's a lil nutty. tsk tsk... :)

bye cheryl.

icecream at baskins.
then went cheryl. jon, myself and ms. prataphile had some ice creamy at baskins. see how sad i looked. lol. ok it wasnt reeeeally cos she was leaving. but partially la. partially. :P

bye julian.

dinner at matsuri
first went julian. the last meal together was at matsuri with his family, jon and myself. the food was excellent. see the speed of julian's chopsticks while he attacks the beef and you'd understand. :P

16 March 2005

third.

when the/a third happens, you know its just safer to not cycle to school.

so walking it is!

bye prataphile! :(

actually it wont be till tomorrow but we had our last scoops of baskin robbins icecream with her at subiaco tonight. we wont see her in the near future... we misss u. ok julian misses you more. but we do miss you, however horrible you are at keeping secrets. because of you, whatever good the exercise i did this evening has been erased. now i have aching joints AND a fat belly. great.

the day hasnt been too good to me but i'll live. was waiting for a third but it never came, maybe whoever saved it for another time. but i'm not complaining. ok i dont make sense but i dont feel like making sense now. i feel more like sleeeeeping! but i wont rest well knowing that there are things to be done. hmmm... should i give in to temptation? and get my ass kicked again? i dunno...

i always dunno. even when i think. probably because i think too much. wells may tmw be better.

.sleeeeeeeeeeepy.ok sleeeep.

what is affinity.. cant eat?

hello hello...

hola!

where's this blasted place they call vertigo?

does being there take your breath away?

14 March 2005

again.

is it still in me... to do it with the innocence of youth, the sensiblilty of a mature adult and the clarity of an old old man.

i believe so. :)

falling in place.

mr julian.mediumseven left yesterday. and ms cheryl.prataphile will be leaving sooon. *waahhhhhh*

so sad huh. but thats no reason for ms. prataphile to keep lookin at your own pic! so stop! :P

anyways the weekend past was mainly spent in good company. friday night we had a very delish jap dinner thanks to julian and family. i was just lucky to be there. heh. after dinner at matsuri we headed to cheryl's place for desserts. what we had was a tuB of baskin robbins icecream and i was stuffed. very very contented indeed.

sat wasnt particularly interesting cept that we were up by nine to go shopping at the nike factory outlet in subiaco. had my bit of shopping and bought two pairs of good quality pants which were of questionable colours. :) but heyy.. acg for 10.50 i wont complain abt. :P the highlight would be goin to burswood casino and not spending a single cent, lol. so there we were for an hour plus before we headed to conca's for late night chilli mussels! yumm..

for an otherwise boring week i tink it was good. and i've also just realised that i've been day-dreaming a little more than usual recently. heh. that good or bad? only time will tell i spose.

dream a lil dream todayy... have you been dreaming lately? :)

12 March 2005

tag board.

seems to be down permanently. will get it changed once i dun feel as lazy. :)

what a nice sat afternoon...... nice for naps... :P

11 March 2005

taking in slack.

slowly but surely. all tutorial classes in the first week accounted for. will have to keep going for them and most importantly attempt the qns beforehand! that has proven to be the hardest to do. the coming weeks will prob be spent getting into good habits and trying hard to kick bad ones. but this weekend i shall likely be relaxing more, if its possible!

soooooon julian and cheryl will be leaving perth and its gonna be sooooooo boring without them. lol. ya rite. that's wad prataphile would like to tink huh :P No! we shall have lots of fun and make u two wanna come back and visit. we'd try. ;)

the easter break lingers just a lil over the horizon and its all cloudy now. hmm.... down south or not? i hold the answer not.

i used to blogalot but now i blogalil. i am boring. i nid to be find the path again. :)

10 March 2005

one last time.

roll call.
we got there early this time and walked around for the greater of 2 hours before we even saw 5 crabs. only thru luck and some determination not to leave empty handed did we get them all. :)
turns out that crabbing season werent over, they were just in hiding till dusk. heh. turns out that the last time was the best. a total of 37 legal sized ones! :P inclusive of two male crabs... evident in the pic above i spose.. :)

all hands on deck.

crab processing plant.
apparently we waded very very very very far out and it took about 20mins to get back to where the cars were. so we left at 745pm on a 50+min ride back to perth. so you could imagine how hungry we were! :P

all set.

the final stage remains.
37 crabs. 74 halves. many many legs. two dishes. we had 3 platefuls of steamed crabs and 2 platefuls of chilli crabs. i thought the steamed ones were better tho, cos we didnt really know how to do the sweet chilli sauce. my badd. :P but we were pretty stuffed by the time we were done. actually others were roped in eventually to help us finish up all the crabs. i am so not gonna have crabs for a year.... :S
thats all for crabbing! till next year :)

another graduation.

cheryl.dad.mom.xiaomei
today it was cheryl's turn. ms. prataphile as i know it or horrid bagaholic as she prefers to be called now. both she and her boy julian will no longer be able to enjoy the freedom of being an international student in a far-away land. and for that we'll be sad.. for them of course! :P will miss both of them when they return home, cheryl for her sensible advice and julian as a fellow worker. :)

the psycho honours grad..part 1.

one for the chosenpath. according to her.. :P

07 March 2005

not lookin too good.

i've to get into the flow really soon or i'd be done for! oh no oh no.... but yea, i will do it. :)
finally gotten my timetable drawn up and all and will have to be making the extra effort for read notes la. its just so not me... :P

this also means that all the outings and gatherings will be fewer and all now... now that i can see this sem will not be as smooth flowing as expected. things will slowly stabilize i spose. lets hope its soon ;)

i've been sleepin lots more this two weeks. and easter hols are only 2+weeks away! =\

looks like its gonna be pRettY boring for the weeks to come. hmmm...

ohwells.

05 March 2005

religion.

touchy indeed. but i spose as it forms the belief that guides one in life, it is relied upon heavily. and when it differs, even if its the same beliefs in different degrees, problems arise. i spose it's possible to overcome it but who am i to decide. this i feel, i'll never get an answer that i'd be satisfied with no matter how much i sit on it.

this doesnt look good. no.. not at all. i nid good ole prataphile's advice!!!!! helpeeeeeeeeem meeeeeeeeeee... :)

and from the good old days of irc..
/me dies..

04 March 2005

making plans.

ok i think the 3day school week thing is more or less settled. that leaves me to get on with my job search. not too sure why but this semester i feel slightly' lazier! :P maybe its cos i havent had enough fun you know? lol. wells ok, i had fun back home and all but that wasnt really enough considering i had waited so long for it. :)

talking about jobs, i should probably be headin down to the guild tomorrow (or later in the morning as of now) to get on with it. the longer i wait, the lazier i will become. as of now i already feel like a lazy fataSs and the no. of naps i take is seriously too many! :s i hope i can get an ongoing job that fits the time i have. that way i'll have a regular income and it would make saving up and planning so much easier. to make sure i get it, i shall announce my target to earning 1.5k this sem. too much or too little? wells i dun really care but it would be good enough. anyways that roughly equates to abt 100hrs of work at the max rate of $15/hr. wish me luck! all thats on top of studying hard for my units of course.. :)

dum dee dum... the weekend here i come!

03 March 2005

maybe.

i'll get a 3 day week.

i'll go to the city later.

i'll study harder this sem.

i'll work more than i did last sem.

i'll finish unpacking my luggage soon.

i'll save enough to fly to the east coast.

i'll be happier this year than i ever was for the past 4 years.

just maybe.

01 March 2005

a test.

ripped from julia's fren's :)

The Commonly Confused Words Test

Advanced

You scored 93% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 87% Advanced, and 55% Expert!
You have an extremly good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels's questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.

are you sure you didnt cheat julia? :P

ok. see the great disparity in the amount of time i have on hand now that sch has started. lol.

uni once again.

the past week or so have been absoutely wonderful. somethings that were unplanned for happened and i'm happy they did. it shows that you can plan however much you want in life just to be ready but it will never always go your way. good or bad it might be, but just be prepared. to be able to believe again would be so nice. so very nice.

as school starts, i will get busier. somehow i feel that this sem might be better. its all just about getting the ball rolling i spose.

work i've gotta find. books i've gotta read. promises i've gotta keep. hope i've gotta give.

am i ready? i sure hope so. :)

to a new year in school..

ok i lied.

they all get cooked. :P
so the first crabbing expedition for the year was a success. i think we'll have one next week. we shall see! :)

mugshot.

here you see the size. pretty decent if i might add. :)

the arena in my kitchen.

where the loser gets eaten up. :)

escapee!

heh. once you let go, you're done for. :)
this time round we caught many more than last year. maybe its all about timing and skill huh. :P
flower crabs are yum. not too meaty but sweeeeeet. tho my zoologist fren once mentioned that the area over here is heavily polluted. hmm....

wading in.

off we ventured. some prepared, some not!
thats when the fun begins. when movement is restricted by the attire. ie length of shorts. :P and the unwary get clamped by sharp claws! poor wayne got clipped twice.. on the same toe!!! :)

as the sun sets.

we knew it was time to return, stayin wasnt an option with two torches among us.

crabbing!

mostly people from trinity where i lived in my first sem here.

crabbing. a popular activity during the summer months in perth. its when you get carloads and carloads of students taking a 1 hour drive down south of perth to mandurah where all the flower crabs are. armed with crabbing nets, torches and pails too! :)

fly away.

on the way away from it all.

one more i'll miss dearly. one more that has given me reason for hope. but it's all too early still. only time away will tell. :)

helping uncle pack.

how could one ever stay angry?

even when she gets on my nerves constantly, i will not be able to stay angry for long. hmm... not that i'd want to anyways. but i just hope that she'll grow up to be sensible with all the love she gets.

sisters.

geneve and janette
meet little miss cheeky and little miss bossy. one's playful and mischevious but nontheless adorable..well.. mostly. the other is just so.... greedy. for attention that is. them i'll miss dearly. :)

impromptu coffee sess.

my dear sisters who were kind enuff to come out at the very last min. thanks! :)
meeting up with them was good, tho we've been meaning to meet up for a long time before! :P had drinks at starbucks and it all happened because a prior appointment got called off. but luckily it was! *tsk tsk to other party tho*

at father flanagans?

one last round of drinks. and someone had to order absolut!

after dinner drinks where more ppl dropped in. its this thing about meeting a new grp, getting closer and having to leave that sucks. but it shouldnt stop us from keepin in touch i spose. that would be all about the 7 weeks at e&y. of which 4 were spent in tuas. *grrrrr*

marche` @ suntec.

a last meal together for the gang.

our last day at work ended with most of us going back to the office by evening and handing back our security passes. all we got was a pretty useless piece of certification for the 7 weeks and we also got alot more in other ways. of the 118 interns of which 30+ were in our department. these few were more... sociable. :)

saturday night feverish.

zouk on a saturday nite. dreadful.

had a vague impression of sat nite zouk that was formed years ago. now its been reinforced. never again! zouk on a sat nite will kill if one isnt among good company. :P

flashback!

all you need to be an auditor.

this supposed 3 mth long holiday for me didnt feel that long. in fact my actual 'holiday' was only 2.5 weeks long! one week when i touched down. a few days during christmas. and one before i fly off. in between all that, 3 weeks were spent at motorimage and 7 at e&y.

the 7 weeks spent at e&y was good. well i mean it wasnt the best but insight that i've gain of that field will come in handy. it wont be what i really like to do, unless things changes, but it will always be an option! :)
