The Igloo of AWESOMENESS!

The Title of this post did not happen by chance, as you will see below. Cooper decided to take advantage of the HUGE snow storm and build an igloo, with the help of his father of awesomeness!

I love this picture...it reminds me of the classic pic of the farmer and his wife holding a pitchfork...except this is the Chinese guy and his son, holding a snow shovel.

The finished product.
You can't see in this picture, but Coop put a flag on top and it just cracked me up. There's a close up shot of it below.

Fishy Face

Cannon has been sick and ended up with RSV this past week. Thankfully, it wasn't bad enough to need to be in the hospital but it required treatments at home. He gets nebulizer treatments and they brought this cute little fish mask to make it a little more fun for him since it's really kind of scary for him. I also realized the power of a mothers bond as I was giving him one of the treatments. He was totally freaking out the first time I gave him the treatment and for some reason I decided to just start singing to him. It was the craziest thing, he immediately stopped crying and completely calmed down and just relaxed, listened and took the treatment with no problems. So I totally understand that I am not going to be winning any singing contests anytime soon, but for some reason my sweet little baby appreciates my voice! I have always wanted to be able to sing but it's not a talent I was blessed with. If I stopped singing at any time during the treatment, he would start crying again. This was just so sweet and meaningful to me to know I have such a bond with my baby boy! We love you, Mr. Cannon, get well soon!!!

Indoor Picnic

The kids decided they wanted to have a "picnic" for breakfast today so they lined the living room with blankets and got their breakfast and enjoyed some fun, relaxing time together. Notice Cambrie's doll even has a little breakfast tray. Wow Coop, way to strike a pose!

Mother/Daughter Night Out

My friend, Jen and I took our daughters to the University of Utah Gymnastics Meet for a fun night out. We did the same thing last year and it was so much fun we went again. We took the FrontRunner and Trax (which honestly was probably more fun for the girls than the gymnastics). We had a really great time, despite a bit of trouble on the way! Cambrie had a "banana split party" for dance as a reward for getting her splits perfect. She worked so hard she didn't want to miss it but it made the schedule really tight so we had our plan layed out perfectly and just knew it would work out. Well, I dropped Cam off at dance and just waited in the car and Jen and Hadlie were going to meet us there. Well, I rushed Cambrie out of the party only to find out my car battery was DEAD! I, of course wasn't prepared with jumper cables so I started running around asking everyone I saw if they had some. Finally, I found an AWESOME gal that had them and knew all there was to know about cars and jumping them...she was my hero for the day! Anyway, we took off, ran through Wendy's drive through, got our food, and got to the train in time for our adventure.

Hadlie and Cambrie at the FrontRunner Station. Cute Girls!!
What you can't see in this picture is how silly we were being and how many times it took us to get good pictures...and yes, there were people watching us thinking we were the biggest dorks ever!

We had a great time, thanks girls for making us young again!! Oh, here's the rest of the story...when we got off the train at 10:35 pm in the 20 degree freezing cold, my car was dead again!!! Just made more fun for the adventure...we did a little dancin' and singin' to keep us warm while we waited. Thanks Chon for coming to rescue us!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines day to everyone I love! We had a nice day and I just want my friends and family to know how much I really do love them! The best parts of life are being with awesome people and I am very lucky in that department! I have a lot of awesome friends and family to make my life great! I especially want to tell Chon, Cooper, Cambrie, Conlie and Cannon I LOVE YOU! Chon, you are a wonderful man and a great husband and father and you work very hard for our family! Thank you so much! To my awesome, amazing, funny, and talented kiddos: I Love You so much! Thanks for making me always feel so special! Even if I'm not a candidate for "mother of the year", you make me feel that way! Hope you had a great day!!

6th Grade Valentine's Dance - Shake It Cooper!!

The whole 6th grade class at Lakeside Elementary has been practicing dances since the beginning of school. Today they had a dance to show what they have learned. It has been so much fun hearing what dances they are learning and how excited Coop has been as he has worked hard to master these dances. Some of the dances they learned are: Thriller, The Waltz, The Virginia Reel, The Conga, Bunny Hop, Boot-Scootin' Boogy, Electric Slide, The Macarena, YMCA, and even The Chicken Dance! They all did such a great job and it was so cool that every single one of the kids participated and took it seriously. I feel like I was just in school with the sweaty palms and heart racing and now I have a child in the same situation. How did that happen? It was so sweet to see these kids that I have watched grow up since Kindergarten. Now they are growing up and as hard as it is to watch them get big, it is moments like this that make a parent proud! Cooper, we are so proud of you and we love you! Thanks for letting us come and watch you! It was all I could do to keep my hips still and not embarrass you too much! I kind of wanted to "bust a move" myself but I refrained. P.S. You have some pretty awesome moves!

Daddy Daughter Date

Chon and I are both making an attempt to spend more one-on-one time with the kids. It was his turn to take Cambrie out. He refuses to take the camera anywhere he goes so this one will have to be just a written post. He took her to see the movie "Mega-mind". From what I hear, they had a great time. I asked Cambrie about what her favorite part of going out with her dad was and she said, "All of it." Chon's response was "the one-on-one time with her and talking with her." I'm so proud of him for being such a great daddy! He loves the kiddos so much and he is so involved in all they do. They are lucky to have a real Super-Hero for a dad!!
