Gorjuss Girls Happy Mail Projects

So were going to mix it up a bit over the next few days while I share with you a Happy Mail project I did last year featuring Gorjuss Girls.  Don't you love how sweet these girls are.  Over the next few days, you will be seeing different projects from the picture above.  For today's post the Loaded Banner from the Happy Mail will be featured.

The idea for this loaded banner came from the Loaded Envelope Galore and More Facebook Group.  Although I could not participate in the swap, this project was something on the "to do" list.  Isn't it darling!
You will find a tutorial for this by Kay Hutchings Hafen on YouTube.   You can get an idea how to put this together by watching and then do your own thing like I did.  I used my Cricut to cut out the banners.  This Loaded Banner is 7 inches long.
Prima Rose Quartz paper was used in this project.  It's beautiful and I had a couple pads and most of it was used.  These Girls are fun to put together.  All the flowers you see are hand crafted as well.  It's one of my favorite things to create.
Hope you enjoyed this banner share.  Be sure to check back tomorrow as I will be sharing more projects from this Happy Mail.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs and Blessings!

Midnight Madness Challenge #37-Teddy Stampers #2 Paper Pieced Bear

Welcome to my creation for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #37 and Teddy Stampers #2. This week I went with one of my own paper pieced bear patterns. I love this one because you can dress her up anyway you want and have her hold and abject to coordinate with your card theme.
I used the Martha Stewart lacey heart border punch, and the fancy tag spellbinders die cut for my embellishments.
On the inside I repeated the Martha Stewart Lacey Heart border punch, the spellbinders heart die cut, and the Martha Steward heart punch accented with some pearls. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card for this week's challenge and that you will consider joining us for this fun sketch.

Penguins on Parade

Don't you just love Penguins. They are naturally dressed in their Christmas finery for the Holidays with their tuxedo coloring. This guy is no exception. I paper pieced this little fellow and added lots of frosty glittered snowflakes. This year I have really used my Spellbinders Snowflake dies. I really love this snowflake pictured here and made many of them and have glittered all of them. I can't seem to get enough glitter!!!!
This is the inside of the card. This penguin paper is actually last years Debbie Mumm stack. The larger penguins were on one of the sheets. It's really pretty paper and perfect with my paper pieced penguin. The little penguin on the envelope is from Michael's on their end cap display where all the .99 cent stickers are.I thought I would share some more decorations from my home again today. This is the bottom shelf of my bookcase in my foyer. The Christmas Tree is battery operated and lights up. It is from the Boyds Bear Collection that was produced and distributed by "The Danbury Mint". You can see my little Boyds Bear Train in front of it. Of course, the plush bears are also Boyds and I must say are so soft and cuddly when you hold them. The frames hold pictures of my boys visiting Santa when they were younger.....so precious!!!!

Thanks for stopping by. I have been busy baking cookies. I made several dozen....I think something like 10 dozen of Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip cookies. Mmmm, I will be dieting the first of the year!!! LOL

Have a Beary Merry Christmas

You know sooner or later a Bear was going to show up here for Christmas!!! Oh my, I have missed my bear cards. I paper pieced this little fellow and used the MS branch punch to dress him up for Christmas!!!! Oh, how I love this guy!!!! I made my presents out of glitter felt and ribbon. Here is the inside of my card. I made the bear on the inside a Christmas Tree Ornament. All you do is untie the bow and he is ready to hang on your tree. I made him on chipboard and put felt on the back to finish him off. I did the presents again for the other side.
Here he is....my little guy. My husband says I am a big kid sometimes. He found me in bed reading my "Night Before Christmas" pop up book last night. I will have to take some pictures of it. As a paper crafter I am amazed by the pop-up images in it. Stayed tuned tomorrow. Those of you that visit know I am a bear lover/collector. I have 4 themed trees up this year in my home. I didn't put the Star War's one up this year. This is my Boyds Bear tree. It is filled with stuffed bears and Boyds Bear Ornaments. There are gold glitter snowflakes, sequined ornaments, and small blown glass ornaments as well.Just like my cards.....don't you think I really embellished this tree!!!!! LOL What can I say....I LOVE STUFF!!!! Ha, I just noticed you can see some tags....as a collector you are never suppose to take the tags off you know....YIKES.LOL I have been collecting since 1988-guess in a few years these might be Vintage...LOL At the very top of this picture you can see my Grinch....I always put something unusual on my theme tree to make it interesting...LOL

Thanks for stopping by. If anyone knows if there are other Bloggers who are Boyds Bear Lovers like me, would you kindly let me know. Thanks.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Hello Everyone: Did you ever make a card and wish it was one that someone would send you....well this is that card for me. If you know me at Splicoast Stampers, I am Gingerbeary which is a name I have had as a Secret Sister from the Boyds Bear Forum and has stuck with me for over 15 years. It is a combination of my love for Gingerbread and Bears....well I do love pumpkins too so I came up with this card for a Challenge for Virtual Stamp Night. The challenge was to make a card with an image that is normally known for one Holiday and Masquerading it as another. I knew I would have to do a Gingerbread which is traditionally a Christmas Holiday image and Masquerade it as a Thanksgiving image. To really add to the charm and flair of this card, I thought I would combine two of my favorite recipes: Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle and Pumpkin Gingerbread Streusel. I really love the pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle and would highly recommend that for your fall baking. The Streusel is great too!!This is a nice close up to show my paper pieced pattern and all the luscious layers. I used some puff paint on the gingerbread girl to make it look like icing. I faux stitched the pumpkin and the bow and hand drew the leaf veins. Here we have another close up that show some of the glittering I did on the edges and more of the layers of the pumpkin at a different angle. On the inside of the card I made a pocket that these recipes fit in very nicely and paper pieced another pumpkin just like the one the Gingerbread girl is holding on the front.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my creation today and that it will have you thinking outside the box on what you could use your own holiday images for. I invite you to go check out the challenge entries that some very talented card makers have done for this challenge. They are all clever and fun cards. When doing so please use the key words NOV09VSNMINI1 in the search box.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #20

Happy Tuesday everyone. Welcome to my blog and my favorite day of the week because it is Midnight Madness Sketch ChallengeTuesday. The best challenge on the net!!! Please check Priscilla's Blog for all the fun happenings that are going on in the next month. You won't want to miss a single thing!!!

At this time, I would like to thank our sponsor for the month of September, DRS Designs, Inc. I have really enjoyed working with some of their stamps this month. Our sponsor for this week is Michelle's Scrapbooking & More. When you have a moment, please stop by her store and see all the wonderful products she has for your crafting needs.

Here is this weeks sketch for the challenge.
I had fun with this sketch. I haven't done a bear in a while and knew I just had to do something with one this week. Since fall is in the air, it's time to pair up my bears with seasonal items like this plump pumpkin and cute black cat. I took the liberty of flipping this sketch so I could do this paper piecing. My image has been cut out of card stock, inked on the edges and paper pieced with lots of pop dots and foam circles and squares. The corner pieces on the card are a DRS Design stamp F696 Daisy Corner that I embossed with gold EP and cut then popped for dimension.I embossed the background paper with a circles embossing folder, used EK Success border punch Fleur de Lis. I did some machine stitching around the outside of the card. My leaves were punched from metallic card stock. I had a few of these leaf brads left over from last year, just enough to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my blog. I appreciate and enjoy all your comments. May I invite you to join me at the Masquerade Ball this Friday Night September 25, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Split Coast Stampers for a Mini VSN. I am co-coordinator for this session of Virtual Stamp Night and am hosting the 9 p.m. challenge. There will be another Mini on Saturday, October 24, 2009 starting at 12 p.m. and the main event Friday November 13, 2009 starting at 7 p.m. and Saturday November 14, 2009 starting at 11 a.m. Should be lots of fun! Hope to see you there!!!

Hugs,
Carol

Three Challenge Bear

What a fun day today putting this together for three challenges. When I read at Splitcoast Stampers that the Way to Use it Challenge was to have something fuzzy on your card, I knew I had to do one of my paper pieced bears in curly felt. The second challenge that caught my eye was the Charisma Cards Thursday. It was a color challenge today using lemon, green, and pink. Don't you think those are just yummy summer colors? The third challenge at Eat Sleep Stamp was this sketch challenge:This was just so much fun to put together today. I used one of my own bear patterns and pieced this bear. I cut out my ovals with nesties, the corner treatment with a cuddlebug die, and the swirl florishes with a sizzx die. The flowers were crocheted by me with embroidery floss and I attached a pearl brad in the center. I have had that daisy ribbon forever and I cut off a couple of the flowers to dress up the bear. I used my Martha Stewart branch punch to accent the flowers. The sentiment is from Penny Black and the background was cut from a square nestie. The rhinestones are from the dollar bin at Michael's. All and all this was a fun card. Hope you enjoyed stopping in today. I appreciate it!!

Paper Pieced Penguin

Here we are in the most hazy, hottest, humid weather in Georgia...and I am thinking cool, frosty, penguins. Don't you love watching the nature shows with these adorable little guys swimming and playing in their tuxedos!!! This card was created for the Our Creative Corner challenge. Their challenge is "Christmas in August". Also there is a message as follows:

Last week we announced we are looking for a few girls to join the OCC Design Team. If you are interested in a spot, please leave your name HERE and include DT after your name. You will have until August 20th to apply, we then will announce the NEW DT September 1st.

How exciting!!! Good luck to everyone trying out.

No stamping today except for the sentiment. I love to paper piece. It's like putting a puzzle together. This penguin was paper pieced, the snowflakes are a punch. I did some faux stitching and glittered things up with stickles. The sentiment is something I got last year and don't remember the company or name. It was before I knew keeping all that stuff was important. Thanks for stopping by today and come join us in the challenge. It's great to get some Christmas cards done now, so that you are not rushing when Christmas is here!

PaperPieced Bear with Headband

Here is a card I made for Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers last Friday night. The name of the challenge was "Swiss Cheese" and you were to use one of the old fashioned silver small hole punch on your project in some creative way. I thought to use it to punch holes in my dp and thread this pretty ribbon through it. This paper pieced bear was sitting on my table as a reject from another project I was working on. So I thought it would look nice as the focal point on the card with the ribbon going around it. I made these flowers with various paper punches and the branch punch from Martha Stewart. I love this little bear even though it was too big for the other project and kept the pattern I created so I can make more. I think I want to do one with a "Santa" hat....now wouldn't that be cute!!! See you tomorrow!!!

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear

Today's card is a double challenge - 1st Splitcoast Stampers was to make fabric flowers or use fabric on your card creations. The other challenge is at The Pink Elephant which was to make a card with animals. My bears were made with curly felt (left over from my bear-making days). The flowers were also made of fabric. I did a bear layout like this in a scrapbook that I made for my Mother last year. I have a closet still filled with fabric. They say this is the hot new trend. Well thank goodness for that because I need to use this stuff up. There are so many ways to use fabric on cards. Even the paper piecing technique could be done with fabric. Why not join us and give it a try. Thanks for stopping by to see what I was up to today. If you have questions, just let me know.

Double Challenge Pumpkin Bear

Today we have a paper pieced card that I have created for two challenges. The first challenge is for Teddy Stampers and the challenge was to do embossing on your card with your teddy. As you can see I embossed the background on this card and ran some green ink over the embossing. I did the same effect on the inside of the card as well. I created this paper piecing pattern myself and it is a product of looking at my Fall decorations that I posted a couple of days ago.
The second challenge that this card is for is over at The Cuddlebug Spot. In this challenge you are to decorate the inside as well as the outside. of the card.

I made several different sized bears experimenting to get this bear the right size. So I have a few cuties sitting on my desk waiting for me to do something with. I plan on trying my hand at making more paper piecing patterns...so stay tuned. Thanks for stopping by and your comments are appreciate.

Winnie the Pooh Dutch Dare Challenge #52

Who can resist "Winnie the Pooh" chubby little cubby all stuff with fluff! I was reading the Daily Dare website and came across a challenge for Dutch Dare. Over on the Dutch Dare blog they are asking for challenge participants to send their cards to Post Pal's. Post Pal's are sick children and this just touched my heart. When I read this challenge, I knew I wanted to participate and I knew exactly what I wanted to make. So here is the card I will be sending off tomorrow to a pal. I am excited that sometime today I will be picking my pal to send this too. This was such a wonderful card to make. Who wouldn't be cheered up with all these bright wonderful colors.

Here's what I did:

Winnie the pooh was paper pieced- I found this picture on the web here. I resized it and cut it out to how I wanted it to look. I glued a little butterfly rhinestone to his nose.
Paper:Blossom and Butterfly Stack
Flowers: Various paper punches and flower brad
Outlined the butterflies and flowers with stickles
Sentiment was from the $1 bin at Michaels

I am so pleased how this card turned out. You know I would have to send a bear, right! lol Thanks for stopping by today and checking out what I have been up too. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

Sunflower Flowerpot Bear Birthday Card

Awww, here I go with the bears again. My life is filled with bears everyday. They make me smile, always have. I love to watch the nature shows where the bears are fishing for Salmon with their cubs. I could watch it every night. lol

This was for Splitcoast's Challenge "Way to Use It". You had to make your own image either from punches, arrangement of brads and buttons, or draw your image and cut it out of cardstock. I paper pieced this bear sitting in the flower pot. I ran the flower pot and the sunflower through the cuddlebug with the swiss dot folder. The grass was run through with the swirl folder. The flower was punched with a paper punch three times and arranged with a rhinestone in the middle. I chalked all the edges of the paper pieces for contrast.

This was so much fun to make. It seems pretty enough to frame and hang in my house. I need to take a picture of my sunflower bear corner and post it on here. This would look so beautiful framed with my sunflower bears. The card is off to California tomorrow for my Sister-In-Laws Birthday.

EK Success Border Punch for the borders
MS Branch punch
Whale of a Punch for the Sunflower-Rhinestone center
Cuddlebug-Swiss dot folder and Swirl folder
Cricut Cartridge Beyond Birthdays for the Sentiment
Square Rhinestone Yellow Brads
Ribbon, Stickles, Chalk

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening.
