goodbye 2009 hello 2010

2009

- design project was quite memorable.
we had our 1st few major incidents of bu-shuangness with each other, fortunately everything worked out in the end. had a super enthu prof loh as sup. and bravo's dedication and contribution to the grp was really touching. because of this, "forever indebted" is not an exaggerated expression in my dictionary anymore. during this project, inevitably question my ability as an engineer, or rather the lack of it. but okay la. i've resigned to fate. :P

-had my braces.
ugly betty-fied. quite an impulsive decison but all for the sake of beauty.my motivation? tot of having a perfect smile when i go to work, and when i get married (ok laugh if u want:P) experienced a low period, when my speech was slurred and ppl ard me had difficulty interpreting. but seems like i'm quite accustomed to it now. at least its not as bad.. i had my extractions too. cant wait for 2010 to take them off.

- donated blood
a first for me and mich. truly a memorable experience for us. could still rmb-ed when i fainted towards the end. embarrassing! my 2nd time was much better because i stopped the nurse before she could pump more pressure (to pack up earlier?)

-internship
had my ever so exciting internship stint with uncle wj. hahaha rmb the police and the horrible fights in office. being weak hearted i wont ever be gg back, though the lady manager affectionately termed " lao aunty" by us) were nice to us. oh wells.. we still had fun during the 3 months with each other as company with our rich supply of hello pandas, sweets, drinks. hehe our personal pantry.

-lessons at smu
couldnt do well but alas, but have fun with my jie meis. i lived my dream(one of it), and all the supper sessions that follows after the lessons. really enjoyed them all.

-hr
the module itself was sian ji phua, as we painstakingly "actively" attend the lessons at 9am every tues. the tutor was quite anal about punctuality and 'motivated' us with the participation marks. of which failing to be punctual, take some marks off the participation grade. and it proved to be an effective 'carrot'. though i was still late (but reasonable?haha)
that aside, it was another project with more members(after design). a different experience i guess, but it was more of fun than work this time. all the nights spend vetting report and presentation was worthwhile with the hr group. like the design group, xy was kinda like bryan. valuable contribution and the rides home. very much appreciate all of them.

-chalet
org our own chalet, i must say it was quite fun camping in tgt. thanks to all our frens who were such a sport and came. hope everyone stays in touch and lets savour all the moments spent tgt. argh reminds me of vitamin c's graduation again. okay that will be another post next year. haha

-met president nathan!
haha okay that shd be one of the major highlights of the year. met and shook the hands of the man, whose face is on the mural of every office in sg. up till this date,i still find "didnt i see you just now" line amusing. was embarrassed for the groupie behavior .. for a second :P

-politics
was quite miffled by it, but oh wells

- thai trip
it was fun. good shopping, food, and sightseeing. we truly enjoyed ourselves at thai :)

-wedding
yt's wedding. it was my 2nd fren to get married, and the 1st customary wedding dinner(other than relatives'). quite eye opener. kinda makes u wonder who will turn up for yours next time. hmm..

-fyp

-friends
got to know quite a few friends this year. all it takes is a formal introduction, and some connections(like projs) to hit if off with one another. the funny thing is everyone seem to have seen each other ard in school and have already known the names and the lit facts about each other etc.
and some of my frens have grad! like asshole and my jc pals. kinda sad when everyone's too busy with work to meet. wont want friendships to fade, greedy me still want to hold onto everyone of u. is life gg to be like this next yr?

I'm blogging from land of smiles:) life's a bliss. very little shopping(:( ) but I got to see more of thailand. Haha the most amusing segment of the tour was the one for pattaya's zoo. thoroughly entertained, but of course u pity the animals at the same time. Okay next entry I shall blog with pics :)

world of no fyp

life has been good without worrying for fyp during the exams period. i shall declare an extended holiday for me till late this week :)

last day of school. random me gathering 2 with random ME people. went clementi's kbox cos everyone seemed to have the mood for that. sigh must have been pre exam jitters. and as it so happens that hx bday was 2 days away, so we planned a surprise attack on him.

hb and i got the cake and attempted to overwhelm him with the pleasant surprise, but he long suspected it. this reminds me of yf's 'surprise' bday dinner last yr.

the karaoke enthusiasts sang all the way from 7plus to 2am+. with alot of weird weird songs coming out later the night. xiao li fei dao?! anyway that mv was super gao xiao with alot of gong fu masters wannabes jumping ard.

Wa, took us by surprise. the portion doesnt seem big, but we were utterly full when its only halfway through the meal. and we were starving before that! it totally exceeded threshold of enjoyment as we gorge down the rest.

after hr our earliest paper, we went shopping for presents. haha what an eventful day due to the heavy downpour and we only had 1 small umbrella. so the 3 aunties walked like po pos, backs hunched, as we squeezed our not-so-small bodies within the shelter.


Finally, we reached our destination in 1 piece.

finally we got our freedom. after our last paper, our design group who took 3263 tgt went for our celebratory lunch at kallang leisure park. re ben chun was so so.

after this skating rink excursion, i conclude that i'm a clumsy elephant with bad body coordination. mich was a natural. bryan and faith was new to ice skating but they could still pretty much skate w.o holding to the railings. while try as i might, i still slipped and fall even thou i was still grasping to the railing for my dear life. wa so embarrasing, i tink i did a hyenna shriek followed up by a high kick before i landed on my elephant butt. and its damn painful (and paiseh)! and the little kids were all gracefully waltzing past the elephant. lao le!
but thanks guys who all lent me their hands and armpits that day. much appreciated! :)

and after that, tried our luck with the arcade UFO catcher.

yesterday 6dec, was yenti's wedding at grand copthorne waterfront hotel =)

at 1pm, the ceremony started. anyway the justice of peace was quite humorous. instead of just plainly reading out, he added his 'valuable' comments here and then. E.g. after reading the phrase avout in sickness and health blah, he commented "wow, that's seems like quite alot of responsibilites, are you up to it young man?" added his personal uncle-flavoured touch into the ceremony. lol.

we sat at a table with yenti's poly frens and the rest of us, her sec school frens. ms and i randonly chatted with kai fen, xinling about sec school and nus engine.its a small small world. while siew ee had a great time conversing with her new friend who sat beside her ;)

and whats a wedding w/o the throw xiu qiu segment? i was damn happy and excited over the xiu qiu. haha nt cos i want to get married next, but the idea of catching the ball of flying flowers was amusing. anyway i didnt manage to catch it >.<

*edit : hope i get to enjoy my holidays as much as possible. wahlao just received a sms to informing me to go down to the company tmr =.=' its at AMK and didnt even ask for my availability beforehand. hai sian man. i'm immersing in a world of fyp tmr onwards.
