Chloe went to the mall to see Santa Claus.  When it was her turn, he took a break to blow his nose, so she just climbed up in his chair to wait for him.

The family enjoyed the lights and activities of the Fayetteville Square with Jeremy and Melissa.  Chloe took the opportunity to dance on the square!

Wyatt is 7 weeks old!

Christmas at Chloe's School

Chloe was a sheep in the Christmas program at her school and certainly the most convincing one of all.  She was very excited to see Santa and on the phone told us all about him and the candy cane he gave her.  She is no longer the shy Chloe of last Christmas.

Weekend with Grandad

Chloe and Wyatt spent a weekendwith Grandad and Granbec and there were lots of smiles!! Chloe continued the tradition of wearing the purple princess dress the entire weekend and surprised us at how well she shared attention with Wyatt.  He just slept and ate and was always in someone's lap! He loves a bath! - check out those thighs!!  Our precious baby boy is solid!  Chloe took care of her babies and taught Granbec how to be a monkey like her daddy does.  (This included monkey sounds as she is chased around the yard.)  She also helped make blueberry waffles with her own cooking utensils.  A great weekend for all!

Wyatt is One Month Old

Wyatt's helpful Big Sister

Chloe is very helpful and really enjoys the perks of being a big sister.  Yesterday, a blue puppy dog stuffed animal arrived for Wyatt (from Bob and Nat).  Chloe was thrilled to open the package and to play with brother's new toy.  Her mom stopped her from pulling off the tags by saying, "Chloe that is brother's puppy and you can't pull off the tags.  He may want them."  Without hesitation, Chloe ran into another room where Wyatt was resting and returned with a big grin saying, "Brother said it is OK for me to take off the tags."  If only this peaceful bliss of brother-sister relationship could last!!

Chloe has been getting ready for Christmas.  She helped decorate the house and is learning about Santa.  She argued with her mother about where Santa is...Mom was telling her about the North Pole and elves and Chloe said "THAT IS NOT WHAT DAD SAID!  He said Santa is at the mall and we are going to see him."

Thanksgiving

This is how Chloe dressed herself for Thanksgiving Dinner at Gramie's and Grandpa's!  She spent the day twirling in her tutu! The big news she reported to us on the phone was that Jayden fell in the lake at Gramie's and her friend Peyton (at day care) was going to 'Abraska where they have lots of corn.'  She had a visit from Aunt Jenny, Uncle Dave and Peyton which topped-off the day with gifts and more attention.  Wyatt also had a fun day of being fed and held.  He downs his bottles and then really doesn't like to be put down anywhere.  Chloe seems to enjoy petting baby brother and enjoys her independence while mom is busy.  She entertains herself or slips off to her room and appears with a selected change of clothes.  She eats better with less prompting and prides herself on needing no help in the bathroom.  On thanksgiving day, she told us that she was thankful for baby brother, momie and dad.  The day before when asked what she was thankful for, she replied myself!  I think mom must have worked with her on the appropriate response!  It certainly isn't difficult for me to know who I'm thankful for!!

I wish Great Grandmother Mur could see this.  She would have loved everything about it!

Several times while playing with her baby, Chloe was overheard asking baby, "Why are you a fuss bucket??"

It happened today...Chloe took a dollar to Target and got to select something.  She picked out a cute stuffed puppy dog and proudly gave the cashier her dollar bill.  A shopper is born!

Wyatt slept through the Razorback game.  WOW is he ever smart!!!

Wyatt is thriving!  At two weeks old he was over 8 pounds!  Tomorrow he will celebrate his life of three weeks and obviously more weight gain.  Chloe is enjoying her role as big sis and all the attention it brings to her.  She has become more independent because she is not willing to "wait" until mom or dad have time to meet her many demands.  She's become quite a snappy dresser now that she goes to her room and selects her own clothes.  The other night she grinned while admitting the nightgown she had selected was from the dirty clothes basket!!  She continues a busy life of school, gymnastics and therapy.  She continues to amaze us with her vocabulary and story-telling ability!

Chloe LOVES Halloween

Chloe the ballerina danced and twirled her way through the downtown trick or treat area.  She was quite elated to go home with a pumpkin full of candy.  Wyatt, our cute little carrot top just snoozed through all the excitement.  Chloe went out to a few neighbors houses and then was in charge of answering the door to visiting trick or treaters.  That didn't go too well as she didn't think giving candy away was much fun!  She was so pumped up on sugar that when we face-timed with her, she couldn't stand still.  Her arms were swinging and her feet were tapping!  What a fun day!  Wyatt had a good report from his first doctor visit and is doing very well.  Ohhhhh he is such a dear little blessing!!!

Wyatt went home from the hospital on Sunday morning.  He slept most of the first day and got up at reasonable times for night feedings.

Chloe tries to help - she loves to remove his hats and always wants to stuff a pacifier in his mouth.  What a great big sis!

Wyatt's First Day

Wyatt snoozed much of the day while his family and friends celebrated his good looks and health.  Chloe was quiet at first around him, but soon seemed quite excited about baby brother.  She bragged to the nurse that she had a new baby brother.  After her mom and dad left for the hospital this morning she asked questions about how they would get Wyatt at the hospital when he was in her moma's tummy.  When I explained that the doctors would help, she added with pride, "so will my daddy!"  She did not like Wyatt wearing a hat and much like she does with her babydolls, she continued to remove it.

"Wyatt is built like a linebacker" was a remark heard in the delivery room.  The adjective "compact" was used by several others.  He has broad shoulders and thick legs and feet.  His mom says his fingernails look like Chloe's, but neither does his hair or eyelashes.
This was a wonderful day for all of us!!  Check out the videos.

What a beautiful and blessed family!

Chloe Selects the best Pumpkin

Chloe had a blast at the shower for Wyatt. She was especially glad to see her friend Lucca!  Afterward she told us on the phone that they were going to keep Wyatt!!  Not sure what the other option was ...but glad she feels that way!

Wyatt's Grammie, aunts and cousins celeberated his expected arrival.

And of course, Chloe was interested in all the gifts that Wyatt will share with her.

Ready or Not Here He Comes!

Wyatt, Chloe's baby brother is due in 12 days. The nursery is now blue with new furnishings and is ready for a sweet little boy.  Chloe is thrilled with his blankets and stuffed toys and can be found playing in his room.  She is very convinced that he will share all his gifts and toys with her and she will be a good big sis to him.

For awhile, Chloe will be sharing her blog with Wyatt...he'll get his own later.  Please stay tuned to see the first pics of him!

Tough Love

Sometimes Chloe takes very good care of her babies and other times she prepares them for the tough world.  One afternoon, she "vroomed her!" (her words)  She gave the buggy a shove and watched it roll and fall over. After a good laugh, she apologized to the baby.  Then did it again.

At the Races

Chloe and Pearl watch the Weiner Races.  Retta didn't place this year as she ran out of bounds instead of toward Chloe, who was at the finish line with a squeaky toy.

Moving to a Big Girl Room

Chloe loves her new room and was glad to relinquish the nursery to baby brother.   Sleeping in the big bed allows her to have lots of snuggle room.                    Looks like Retta found a new spot for a nap!
