Let's Pretend!

I love that my children like to play pretend and play dress-ups. I love how creative they are and that they like to have fun with their imaginations. Give a child a box and he can create so many things with it and entertain himself for hours! Nate is really into Buxx Lightyear and Toy Story right now. So he found a box and made himself a rocket ship.
Livvy loves to put on shoes! Well, everyone elses shoes...here she is with her shoes, purse, baby in one arm and her tea in the other. She loves to push her baby in the stroller and carry it around. She'll make a great mother someday!
I love to pretend! Don't you think that as adults we get so caught up with life and it's responsibilities that we forget to live in the moments that really matter? Pretty soon it won't just be pretend anymore. My son will be an astronaught and my little baby girl a mommy to her own children. So let's have fun and pretend that we are children every once in awhile and play house and have tea parties and fly in a space ship and defeat the evil Emperor Zurg!

New Blog

I have a new blog that contains some of my finished projects. It's not appealing to the eye and it's not professionally done. It's simply a place for me to jot down thoughts, brag about what I actually have finished, and a place for all those random photos of things, food, and utter nonsense that I seem to be taking pictures of lately. So read it if ou want, don't if you don't want. I have some people that ask me how I did certain things and all that so I just thought this would be an easy place to look. Plus, secretly I sometimes want to participate when other blogs ask you to link up projects and I need a place to link them too;) Anyway, the link is fibbermigee.blogspot.com Enjoy...or not!

Halloween 2011

This picture pretty much says it all...we are all Halloween'd out! We started off the festivities by going to Spooka Palooza put on by the Utah Kids Club at the Southtowne Expo. I volunteered there for a few hours while the kids went and played on bounce houses, listened to stories, made crafts and played dress-up with some princesses. They went trick-or-treating there and got lots of good stuff. The next day we went to the Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point with our cousins. We had fun playing games, riding the ponies and feeding the animals. This has become a great tradition for us. Monday night we had a Halloween FHE party at our house with our other cousins. We had good food, played some fun games, decorated pumpkins and had fun being with family. Nate could wear his costume to library class but I was tired of getting him dressed up as Buzz Lightyear so he went as a rock star instead. Livvy wanted to dress up to so I slapped a frilly skirt on, some wings and put pig tails in and called her a butterfly.
Friday night Jason's company had their annual Trunk or Treat at the Barn at Thanksgiving Point. This is also becoming a tradition. Nate wanted to go as a football player that night and I was to tired to wrestle Olivia into her costume so we put the wings and skirt back on. We always invite our cousins to go with us. The first picture above is at the party. They have games, trick-or-treating, pictures and cupcakes. The kids love it. Afterwards, I took the girls to IHOP because they were giving the kids free scary face pancakes. Nate wanted to go watch the BYU game with his dad so it was just a girls night.Saturday was a day full of parties! Grandma Childs had a party over at her house. She had ghost bowling, eat a square pumpkin off the string, a trick or treat game and fishing. The kids love to go fishing at grandma's house! Of course she had yummy food as well. Nate dressed as Buzz Lightyear for this party so he could show grandma his cool goggles! We had to rush from grandma's party over to Emma's dance party. They had bounce houses, face painting, games, fingernail painting, fishing, food, music, everything. Then we rushed home so I could finish preparing for my Murder Party that I was hosting that night. Crazy day! On Halloween day the kids had a parade at school This is actually the first year that Shelley has done a parade and I'm glad they did one. I loved that as a kid and I love it still as a mom! Emma didn't get to participate in the parade because she is in afternoon kindergarten and so they just did their own little parade later in the day. We went trick or treating all around American Fork City at various businesses on Main street. AF Highschool does Haunted Hallways and some of it was really scary for the kids. But they got lots of candy and toys and got their faces painted, so they were ok. We came home and did trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and then went to Dickies for dinner because the kids got free meals, we had a ton of coupons and had a fun time. Then we came home, got in our pj's and collapsed in bed! What a crazy Halloween!
