it's so funny. negative ions make one energized, refreshed, and happy. positive ions make one depressed, tired and stressed. shouldn't it be the other way round? negative things with positive effects. what an oxymoron.
here are some things that made up my source of negative ions:
- meeting up with cihan and yihan for dinner at pastamania. i had so much fun listening to yihan talk about university life, and laughing over random stuff that ranged from arcade games to tv shows.
- having lunch and watching deathnote with bridge people. it was an exciting movie with a super abrupt ending. i hope the sequel will be out soon!
- meeting zeying's dad and sis at pizza hut unwittingly!
- knowing that i can call twinnie anytime i'm bored and make her less bored too! hahaha.
- receiving countdown sms-es from lowly almost everyday to jia you for the A's. 5 more days!
- listening to rabbit talk about her silly golden pig
- watching the korean drama "love at harvard" with my dajie. the male lead is so shuai la!
- eating chocolates my erjie got from norway and fighting with my father over them haha!
i think i have more than enough negative ions to last me for the next month! good luck and jia you everyone! :)

akeelah and the bee
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
- Marianne Williamson
nice quote right? watched the movie "akeelah and the bee" on vcd with my sis, and this was mentioned in the show. think coach carter quoted it too. anyway i loved the movie! it was adapted from a true story, about a girl's journey to become the top speller in her nation. so basically the show was about spelling bees! it's fascinating how many crazy bombastic words there are in the english language, and it's incredible how their spellings have totally no link with the pronounciation. and as the scenes keep changing and more and more difficult words are thrown at these kids, my sis and i were simply in awe. now we both know how limited our vocabulary is.
and i've managed to pick up this new word from the show: "pulchritude". it's of Latin origin, and it means beauty. simply the most apt word the movie could end with.
a few days back, my bro returned home, telling me that that day was the worst day in his life. i laughed at him, thinking that it was probably some joke he came up with again. and i never expected things to be so serious, and truthfully, even being 3 years older than him, i have never experienced the kind of stress he was subjected to that day. im so glad things are fine now, and im really really very proud of him.
(but this doesn't mean that i will enjoy waking up at 6AM every morning to help him train his maple character just because he bought the double exp thing for the WRONG timing..)
