Dengue and Me

After a really nice Life! spread on Saturday, the horrible happened! I've got dengue fever! The mozzie curse started last Wednesday and it was a sudden onset of hell!

As time went by, I realised that my neighbourhood was a HOTSPOT for dengue... I'm not surprised. My estate has never been a model example of cleanliness and I'm sure there are lots of irresponsible residents here.

Check out the link:

At the moment, there are 29 cases of dengue at Serangoon Ave 4! That's madness! People, please put your act together!

Well, I've survived and it's no funny matter. I almost felt that I've died but lived to tell a tale. I also tasted the worst ever concoction ever, papaya leaf juice, YUCKS!!!! But I guess it helped me...

I could have been admitted to hospital but somehow, I managed to survive the worst part of the illness at home. There were times when I really felt like dying but God is good!

Please do your part to eradicate mosquito breeding in your area... it's not a laughing matter when you or your family members fall sick!

Me on Life!

It's really hard for me to believe but I was on the front cover of Saturday's Life! I was really shocked when my mum told me. I didn't really expect the story to be shown anyway and for it to be the main story and my picture on it, it's really beyond my expectations... God is good!

Thanks so much Cade for referring me to the Straits Times for the interview. Suan Chiang for writing so well and Mr Lau Fook Kong for trying to make me relaxed during the photo shoot. And also my friends (old and new) and all well-wishers (especially the guys from echoloft!) for making me feel very special on that day. I really felt like a mini-celebrity! Don't think I could handle fame very well, but it's a really nice thing to happen! Talk about fulfilling your dreams at the most unexpected times!

Like what one of my friends Ian who said... Dude, now the whole of Singapore knows how your bedroom looks like and all the Mums in Singapore are telling their kids that their rooms must be as neat as Mr Chia's... hahaha! :)

Thanks to all!
