Happy Birthday Florine!

Yesterday was Flo's birthday, so to celebrate we went out for dinner at the famous AF! restaurant in Den Haag. What do you mean you've never heard of it! Posted by Picasa

Jonny's got a brand new blog

Above is a picture of my car. It's kind of a personal adventure; Flo tolerates the time, energy and money that I invest in this part of my life, but it's not really a direct part of her life. So, I thought it would be more appropriate to blog my relationship with an Italian car seperately.

The blog is entitled Jonny's Maserati Ghibli.

My wife's turning into a geek!

It's past 11pm and I'm ready to go to bed and what's Flo doing? She's sat with her laptop learning how to program in HTML so that she can stick an RSS feed on our blog!

First she gets a new job working with mobile phones and techie stuff and now this! I swear she's turning into a geek!

She'll be playing Half Life II in multiplayer mode into the early hours of the morning next.... Posted by Picasa

Jonny ski jump

Today I had the good fortune to go indoor skiing at de Uithoff in Den Haag, courtesy of my employer. It's a hard life, but I'm prepared to do anything to satisfy my company's needs.

I only fell over twice and one of those was due to damn snowboarders... no manners! Posted by Picasa

Boris and Boika

Today Flo uncovered a picture of Boris and Boika in their early days; aren’t they sweet! No wonder we couldn’t resist inviting them to join our family, although I'm sure they would argue that they let us join theirs! Posted by Picasa

New glasses for Flo

Flo decided that she needed a new pair of glasses to go with the new car (she only uses her glasses to drive the car), so we went out and test drove a few pairs. Of course, she ended up getting two pairs, but she did negotiate a very good discount.

Here's a picture of Flo getting her eyes tested (she doesn't know I took the picture, since it was a stealthy mobile phone captured moment); they're slightly worse than they were last time she had them done, but nothing too significant. I had mine quickly computer tested and they're still going strong; the left eye maybe just starting to deteriorate, but the right one is fine. Posted by Picasa

Our new house!

Here's a picture of our new house! I appreciate that it probably looks a little strange, since it's currently an office. Built in 1906, it's actually registered as an office and residence, so we're going to convert it into a house. We receive the key on 1st February and hopefully start renovations mid February. We're hoping to move in the first week in June.

You can see more pics at: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2462218.

Landscape gardening

Things are developing with the new house. Last night we had a long chat with one of Flo's old work colleagues Harrie, who is now a freelance landscape gardener. After discussing our likes and dislikes, what we want out of our garden and showing the latest plans for the inside of the house, Harrie is going to come up with some ideas and get back to us in a week or two.

How exciting!

Our new car!

We've got a new car! Today we took delivery of our (nearly) new Volvo V50. It's a 2.4l Momentum model and should see us through the next few years of our lives together quite nicely.

There's some more pictures posted here: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2462142. Posted by Picasa

Travelling in Brazil

We spent Christmas and New Year in Brazil; Christmas was spent with Flo's Brazilian family in Santos (near Sao Paulo) and New Year in Rio de Janeiro, along with 3 million other people on Copacobana beach.

We also visited a few other places, like the Pantanal, which is where this picture was taken of us in a boat!
