Visiting An Jie in hospital

Dear Miss Fox, if you are reading this blog entry, please note that the three blog entries that I want you to read are the first three from the bottom up.

After I had heard that An Jie was hospitalised due to the traffic accident on Friday, I told my parents that I would like to visit him this weekend. I managed to find some time this morning before my Chinese tuition to visit him at the hospital.
When I arrived at his ward 8516, the nurse was giving him an injection and changing his dressing on his right arm. Luckily he is left-handed, thus it would not affect his writing when he gets back to school. After the nurse left, I chatted up with him. My parents were with me too and they spoke to An Jie's parents concerning his injuries and future treatments. I heard that his fractured collar bone would take 4 to 6 weeks to heal and he is advised not to carry heavy things during this period. His father also mentioned that he would not be able to go to school for the coming week so that he can slowly recover at home. After being with him for 40 minutes, we left to go for my Chinese tuition.
By the way guys, if you happen to read this blog entry, please help An Jie to carry his things as and when you can during this period of time so as to aid his speedy recovery.

The Commonwealth Essay

Time passes so quickly... As the old saying goes: Time and tide waits for no man. So even though my heart tells me to play, but my mind reminded me that I still have couple of school projects to complete. One of them was the commonwealth which I have decided to finish it by today. I took a bus back home from school. Unlike yesterday, nothing out of the ordinary happened and I reached home with a heavy heart.
After taking a quick shower, I started my commonwealth essay immediately. I faced numerous problems while doing my commonwealth essay. Firstly, I could not decide on the topic to do, whether topic one, two or five. In the end I asked my mother which topic would she do if she was me. She said that she would do topic two as it is easier than the rest and I have many books at home to choose from for the review. I listened to her and did topic two. Well , it was actually quite difficult as I got to choose the right vocabulary to write and enhance the review. Anyway, after one and a half hour, I eventually completed my commonwealth essay. Phew! And now I am finishing my last blog entry. Yeah! Now I can play without worrying about my blog entries and the commonwealth essay. Once again, Hooray to myself! :D

Oh my God!!!

I thought today would be another typical school day. Lots of homework, especially design and technology and a potential maths project loomed upon us. As usual, I lived through the day and took a bus back home after school. Halfway through the journey, out of the blue, I saw a young couple fighting vigorously along the pavement from the corner of my eye. I was stunned momentarily and proceeded to see what happened next.
Apparently, what I saw next made my jaws dropped. As the young man was clutching onto the woman's handbag, the woman struggled frantically and managed to snatch away the handbag from him. At the same time, our bus driver tapped the horn to warn the guy. However, he could not stop the bus to intervene as the traffic flow was very heavy. The guy released his hold temporarily when he heard the horn and the lady took the opportunity to pull away from him and dashed across the road right behind our bus. Oh my god! She could had been knocked down by the oncoming vehicles. But fortunately, nothing happened to her and I heaved a sigh of relief. I reached home safely afterwards.
Whew! What might have happened if she got knocked down by a vehicle? The consequences would be unimaginable. I just really hope that no one ever dashes across the road like that when the traffic flow is so heavy. I wonder whether she got home safely.

Chinese chess (xiangqi)

For the past two months my father had been pestering me to help him to find a good xiangqi website so that he can spend his free time there playing with people all over the world. However, it was not until today when I had some time to help him find the xiangqi website. He is not as IT-Savvy as I am, so he has to depend on my help to search for the website. I went to Wikipedia and was very happy to find it. So to my friends who also enjoy playing Chinese chess, here is the website: http://www.xiangqiclub.com/.

While my father and I were playing the "Xiangqi" online this afternoon, it brought back memories the time when I spent with my grandfather who had passed away last year. I would usually go to his house to play Chinese chess every Sunday until two years ago when his health deteriorated. We enjoyed each other's company and would play several sets of chess games until late evening before I went back home with my parents. I really missed him and how I wish he was with us this afternoon. Luckily, my father took some photos of us and here is the picture of my grandfather and I. Anyway, I was beaming from ear to ear after I had found the website as I know my dad would be very pleased. In fact, he was so addicted to the website that he spent the whole afternoon playing. Oh my god...I now have to fight with my dad to use the computer as we only have one at home.
